Well shit.

Ok, it seems you're going with this ending regardless of the overwhelming pleading of your readers.

And I guess it's a positive note that you have managed to evoke such a responce.

But I for one think you're making a mistake going down this path.

But again, your story, so you are ultimately the one in control.

But can we at least, at least! not get one of those endings were it's all: "And Cassie and Jenny never saw Nick again"

Or "Cassie always wondered why Nick never came around"

Or "Jenny was worried, and searched for weeks, but found nothing"

No, can we at the very least get an ending where they both know that Cassie ate him. Can we get that sliver of awareness from them, somehow, that they both know Cassie at him.

Let her deal with that guilt, and the horrific realization that she finally did what she threatened to do on more than once ocassion, kill her husband. And have her have to live her life knowing she snuffed him out without even realizing it, and the fallout of that.

Can we have that please.

I just think it would be at least somewhat satisfying for everyone who has stuck around and come to love Nick that at least his death is not treated like some afterthought or that "Nick never bothered to show up again"

No, they need to know. They both need to know that Cassie is the one who ended his life, and has to deal with that guilt. Please give us that.

Author's Response: I know that many of my readers wanted a happy ending despite the original ending I had in mind. I take all the criticism in stride. Perhaps it was a mistake to keep my original ending, and in the future, I’ll just have to reconsider my options and choices throughout the story when given such feedback, even if it’s NOT where I initially intended the story to go. I can assure you that the ending/epilogue, which I will be posting soon, will be far more detailed than: They never saw Nick again. I will, at least, try to provide a far better ending than that. It may not be exactly what you’d expect, but it’ll at least be half-decent.

I've got to echo what the others are saying here. This was a shit/dissapointing ending, to a story which had so much promise, so much well written size content and scenes strung along with a character that people began to love and root for.

And he was eaten.

Wow, what an amazing way to end this. (note the sarcasm)

I try not to get too heated or flame like in my reviews, but damn this really made me mad. It came off like you were ignoring your readers, who for so long were expressing their dislikes for elements shown here.

And you ignored them.

And the whole excuse about "I had this planned out from chapter 1"

Plans can change.

Stories can change.

I've seen authors make changes halfway through stories, it happens. It's not like you set this story in literal concrete and were then unable to change anything or deviate from that path, which from the responces I've seen here, would have made so many people happy.

It's like you were wearing a blindfold and ear plugs and ignoring all the genuine criticism and helpful suggestions being sent your way because "I had this planned out from before I started chapter 1" and "I didn't want people to always expect a happy ending"........are you still thinking that now.

Like fuck, two stories with happy endings (if you did make this a happy ending like your other story) would not set a soldi precedant for future stories.

You wrote yourself down this path and were to stubborn to change course, despite people all but begging you too.

This will alienate your readers, as another person wrote in their review, it will make them be weary and distant to your future stories, because I can honestly say I wouldn't want to fully follow/become invested in another one of your stories, to get a bullshit unsatisfying, and painful to read ending like this.

You gave us a glimpse of a happiness and love that could have been, and crushed it like that horrible Cassie tried to crush Nick.

And now an 'alternate ending' is supposed to be some kind of balm to our anger/frustration?

Why not have just, oh I don't know, not had this horrible ending! Or better yet, used this darker/Nick Dies ending for the alternate, and given us a happy one for the main/canon one!?

I have spent the day reading through the many comments people have left here, and it has only stoked my anger and frustration for this stories conclusion, and your Cassie character.

Maybe if you'd been a good little sissy bitch for your goddess and not been so incompetant, you wouldn't have your itty bitty clitty all locked up.

You should be thankful she's still letting you serve her and have the honor of being at her feet and under her loving control.

There are far worse fates for slaves who displease their mistresses, be grateful yours is more forgiving, and be sure you never make such a grevious mistake again!
