It seems things are heating up between our heroines. Lucy sure has come pretty far in a few days.

Re: Trows -- Yes, they're small, hairy, troll-like creatures that live underground. They're from the folklore of the Orkney Islands (north of Scotland). Not Celtic exactly, more a mix of faerie/elf legends and Norse trolls.

Author's Response: I knew I was on the right track ;) Thanks for another awesome review!

Very sweet conclusion. This was quite an enjoyable story. I think it would have been fun (and sexy) to see Lucy interact with the fairy world at her normal human size, rather than shrunken. But it was a good finale nonetheless. I see in the comments that you may do short one-off sequels so I look forward to that.

Very sexy and well written. You're quite descriptive, which is always good in these types of stories. As it goes on, I imagine it'll get more violent than my tastes generally run but for now I'm enjoying it a lot.

Author's Response: Yes, description makes everything ten times better =D Also, yes and I'm sorry it will get cruel and violent from here on out but the ending result is worth it. Trust me.

Oh wow, I remember that Sinbad show. And I especially remember that shrinking episode. Rumina's "close to my heart" comment gave the younger me some very funny feelings at the time.

I'm familiar with the 60s Batman show (fun but a little too camp for my tastes) but who are these time traveling characters you've included? Never heard of Project Tic-Toc.

Author's Response: Irwin Allen, the creative genius who brought 1960's viewers the original LOST IN SPACE, also created a one-season wonder called THE TIME TUNNEL. Project Tic-Toc, based beneath a dry lake bed in Arizona, had created a giant tunnel that could generate what today would be called a "wormhole." The pilot/premiere had Tony Newman (James Darren) activate it prematurely when a visiting Senatorial bean-counter announced that he was seriously considering closing it down. Leading to fellow scientist Doug Phillips (Robert Colbert) going after him. And, with both of them landing aboard the Titantic just a day or so ahead of the collision with the iceberg! The series, though set in 1968, only lasted from 1966-7. Even so, it undeniably paved the way for all similar series, from QUANTUM LEAP to LOST.

Interesting fantasy world you've created here. Various sized giantesses fighting a war for their miniature warlords. Apologies if I mised this detail but why are only women transformed into giants (aside from the obvious out-of-story reason)?

Author's Response: You'll find out before the story is over, but there is a reason. I just havent elaborated on it yet in the story :)

Another good chapter. Amazing that Antara can already show such restraint in her new body. I love the lingo you've created for this story -- Urtykes, Gargants, Pantarchs, Eyeless, etc. Very creative.

Great story so far. I love Brooke's teasing personality and the fantasy theme. Definitely a good twist at the end of Chapter 2 as well.

Summary:

A day late here but this is a project I did for Christmas. It's got a very short sequel to 19 of the stories I've done in the past, with the catch being they're all related to the holiday.

A collection of Christmas Specials, so to say. Each chapter is a different story and the chapter notes will have a link to the original if you haven't seen it (Spoilers: You probably haven't.)

NOTE: There was a ton of copy paste involved in getting this uploaded here as a single story. If any of the links to the original stories don't work, or if I accidentally repeated any chapters (too tired to check now) just leave a note and I'll fix it.

Hey, I remember this story. It was pretty fun. Back then, I was only passingly familiar with AC and didn't realize I'd get published with them later! How the times do change.

Haven't had a chance to read all of this yet. Is it a significant re-write or just some minor tweaking?

Author's Response: Yes, I'd say there's bound to be some minor tweaking. I was originally going to post this @ Egiantess.com (Pete Smith's new domain). But, he's still got some formatting problems from last spring. So, I've decided to transcribe it all, here.

I remember reading this one back in the day on another forum. Lots of fun. There's a heck of a lot of chapters so I assume it has been expanded a bit since then. When I have a chance, I will try to catch up on this one. Nice to see you're still doing your superhero mashups, Cary.

Author's Response: And it's even nicer to see you back here, Sir P. Thanks! :-D

Nice story. Good to see they get their happy ending...or do they? I agree that there is room for a sequel, especially since the king still rejects them.

Author's Response:

The sequel's still some way off in my mind, but for now, I would consider it a happy ending.

I like that peasants are flocking to Valerie -- the start of her own little (er, no pun intended) kingdom. Would have been awesome if they'd set up their village inside the giant castle itself, like a miniature toyland. But I guess that might be a bit hazardous.

The soldiers using a cart to haul away a coin that she pulled from her pocket with one hand is quite an image.

Author's Response:

Yup, that would have been hazardous, and they wouldn't be able to see the sun then, lol. Thanks for the review!

Awesome concept. Always have a soft spot for fantasy and this seems like a fun spin on the old Sleeping Beauty shtick. Can't wait to learn how the princess ended up cursed and miniaturized and what happened to the rest of the giants.

Author's Response: Thank you, I'd thought this would be something you'd like, lol. It was, of course, your awesome fantasy stories that made me want to write this, so I hope you'll enjoy what's to come! =)

Wow, supporting characters are dropping like flies! Let's hope Prince Alban has a change of heart soon since we seem to be losing his more likeable sidekicks. Still enjoying the story though, regardless of that.

Author's Response:

Heh, sorry if I killed off your favourite characters, lol! But, like i've said, this will be a long story, and there's a lot that's still going to happen, so hopefully it'll all turn out all right.

How bizarre. It's like a mix of 60s Batman, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and old Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Basically...the mind of Carycomic, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. ;)

I hope Robin will be okay. That was awfully cruel, even for Talia.

Author's Response: Nice to hear from you, again, Sir P! Yes; this is basically a hodge-podge homage to some of my favorite cartoons, past and present. The Spidey/Zatanna interlude, for example, was partly inspired by the "Magic Malice" episode of the 1960's SPIDER-MAN cartoon produced by Krantz-Grantray Animation.

A curse placed on a princess causes her to steadily grow. However, when a dark threat looms over the land, her large burden may be the kingdom's only chance for salvation.

Good start. Gentle giantesses and fantasy stories are my bread and butter so I'm definitely liking this. The witch's entrance reminded me of Maleficent in "Sleeping Beauty." Curious to see how big Caroline will get. I'm also wondering why her father is a king but her mother is a duchess. Seems like there'd be a story there. Hmm...

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. And im sure there is a story there, it probably just wont appear in the story. The thinking on that was literally "duchess... Sure why not?" And good call on the sleeping beauty thing its definitely an influence there

Reviewer: Pixis Signed

Just got caught up. Amazing story! My theory about Catherine and Caroline's connection (and why Elizabeth was merely a duchess) proved to be true. And Catherine became a giantess for the finale! Awesome! I hope my speculating in the comments didn't give anything away.

You asked for constructive criticism so I will say this -- the names were a bit distracting. England's royal family has had Elizabeths, Richards, Annes, and Phillips so these names came with baggage. For a fantasy setting, more unique names might have worked better.

My only disappointment was that Caroline never reached the height her mother and aunt did in the last chapter. The 100-200 foot range is my favorite and it would have been cool and sexy to see how Caroline handled interacting with the tiny people at that size. That's just personal taste though. Excellent job overall! This was a very good story.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the critiques; frankly, the only reason the names came out like that was because the story was such a "why not?" kind of thing when i started it, i was like "okay, names, names, i need names... ok, there we go."  As for the size thing, I really just did that so Catherine would appear as an impossibly imposing force to the gigantic Caroline, but I see your point; I'll keep these in mind if I ever try a fantasy story again.

Reviewer: Pixis Signed
Date: June 24 2011 Title: Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Siege

The dream sequence was very well done and horrific. More intense than the rest of the story, sure, but not inappropriate. These kinds of thoughts would certainly be going through Caroline's head. It was pretty clearly a dream so I wasn't too concerned about her family's grisly fate or the increae in violence.

The dialogue between Catherine and her lackey always amuses me. I'm curious about one thing -- if she had the power to turn Caroline into a giantess, can she do the same to herself?

Looking forward to seeing how this all turns out.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you don't think I was stepping over the line; I just thought, having such a calm and sheltered character, it would provide a good chapter to toss some true horror at her.  And, while Catherine doesn't necessarily need to become a giantess because of her power, she may end up being given a run for her money when Caroline returns ;)

Wow! Was not expecting that. Adios, King Richard. Real curious to hear the full story of his history with Catherine. I have a few theories.

I liked the earlier scene of Luke leaping off the balcony forcing Caroline to catch him. Very funny. Him being tied up in a bow to keep him out of the battle was a nice touch too.

Author's Response:

the history will pop up eventually, and you can bet it will be exuberant and absurdly geeky in equal measure, hehe

As someone who IS a fan of this particular sub-genre, I think the author is doing fine so far. No need to criticize him for trying something different. Kind of presumptuous to decide what someone is "meant" to write. Glad you came back and changed your opinion though, Jay.

(By the way, regarding the Stephen King analogy, did you know that The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile are by King? Neither are horror stories but they're brilliant nonetheless. A writer known for one genre can stretch himself now and then.)

Anyhow, as for this new chapter, good stuff. Very sweet how the brother warmed up to her pretty quickly. Each growth spurt has me in suspense waiting to see how much she's grown and how she'll adjust.

Author's Response:

hey, thanks for showing interest.  i was beginning to wonder if i was overtipping the scales on the sticky emotion ratio, so i'm glad to hear it's at least ok.  soon, the focus will shift to bigger things than just hanging around in her room, though (haha, pun, because she's getting... oh, never mind)
