This story is absolutely outstanding and getting better with each chapter. I felt like the chapters with Caitlin drug on a bit but perhaps it was neccessary to break Jack down so utterly so he can be built back up.

According to one theory, the hero's journey is separation, extreme ordeal, then unification. Penny's role in "unification" in this case is very, very satisfying so far.

Thank you for the lovely review! The Caitlin stuff took a long time to work through, mainly because there was a lot to cover, and also because it was such a stressful situation. Skimming over it would almost fail the story, at least in my eyes - every moment of it was brutally 'real' for Jack, and the narrative reflects that. 

I think the basic story arc thus far has definitely fit the kind of 'hero' origin plotline you're referring to. Let's see if it descends into the labyrinthine finale against the final boss!

So pleased this one is coming back (I hope!). I can't wait to see Jack and Penny evolve and how Caitlin re-enters the narrative. I do hope the PTSD arc begins it's upward swing shortly, Jack being a terrified rabbit is certainly understandable and realistic but he needs to evolve into something else.

If you've managed to read up to the end of Ch.34 - I'd say there's been a bit of an upward swing. Many bumps in the road to come, though.

Very glad to see this one come back. This chapter feels like a re-establishment with the subplot of the grandfather and Jack's parents fleshed out but also more nice descriptions of the Alpha world outside of school.

The old writer's block can be tough, I am pleased you found your way out of it to continue this magnificent story.

This story mixes the subtle (or not so subtle, sometimes), superiority of the women and elevated men with true emotions in a way most authors don't seem to be able to accomplish. In this vein, it shares a lot in common with some of the best stories on this board. This chapter continues the tradition. Wonderful!

I have to vote Class 3 here, just because I can see a cool Supergirl vs. Giganta thing happening then. She can hold her own against a Class 2. She gets her dream of becoming Indiana Jones, and she and Tyler have to figure out what her new powers mean to their relationship.

Summary:

 

Ryan lives a normal life for a tiny: he works online, he keeps in shape at the local gym, he games online with friends he never meets, and he tries his best to avoid getting stepped on. Of course it was just his luck that the apartment he lived in got foreclosed on and now he’s been evicted.

Thankfully one of his online friends, Lena, offers to let him crash with her. Of course, having never met, Ryan doesn’t know she’s a bit bigger than he thinks.

It's an unfortunate rarity to have a story like this with deep world building and realistic characters, dialogue and emotion. Ryan is walking a bit of a line of petulance but it's clearly situational. Hopefully between Lena's wiles and some opportunities to pull his own "weight", his better nature can emerge.
