I still love all of these, but this newest chapter was hysterical.

 

I go through these now wondering how many of the tropes you're poking fun of that I'm guilty of and, well, it's a little farther from zero than I'd like.

People seemed to really take to the Deconstructions, so I've never forgotten about them. I just wanted to pick a good one to return to them with, you know.

But yeah, you read enough of these stories, certain patterns begin to emerge. And don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a trope. It's a valid storytelling device, but it's up to the writer to visit a familiar topic and put their fresh, unique spin on it. I certainly lean on favored themes, though I challenge readers to identify them.

This was awesome. I loved how brutal the giantess was. One of the few things I can't cope with is heat related torture, so the thought of being seared by a lit cigarette actually makes me cringe. I would be a yowling, crying mess through all of that. Good stuff! Makes me glad I quit smoking.

I read this from my hotel room at SizeCon on my phone and couldn't figure out how to work the damn thing to post a review. Technology.

 

Anyway, I loved everything about this. Couples content is my jam and you knocked it out the park. I really enjoyed the sort of wink-wink nudge-nudge between the couple as our hero began his descent. "You simply must come home with us!" "Oh yes, we wouldn't want anything bad happening to you! You simply must!" 

Also really liked how despite the situation being so ludicrously sad, (I mean you just find someone to love and they shrink out of existance?) the three of them were able to relish in and find happiness in the fact that they got to enjoy their time together to the absolute fullest. Usually when someone's shrinking out of reality in one of these stories it's a terrifying, or sad ending. This one felt happy and I liked it.

It also really helped that my name is James.

I remember loving this to pieces when you first posted it. I should've reviewed back then. The comedic tones didn't shift too abruptly into the heavier stuff, which can be really jarring. You had the audience figure out along with the narrators and we all got that sort of "Oh.... oh :(" realization together. 

 

It turned silly fetishy stuff into something rather heartfelt. Brilliant.

I was in a weird mood when I wrote this. I just had the basic concept, a kind of shark-skin paper that slowly scraped tiny people down. When I started writing, I had to imagine the various competitive teams, why they were there. I was surprised as the story evolved and I started crying hard while I was still writing the ending. I was a sloppy mess. This was a very unusual story for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I never heard of the 'Reckoners' series. I looked it up and was kinda surprised how similar my idea is to it, lol. But my story is still a lot different with the direction I'm taking it. The Pirends in my story are super secretive and not flashy with their powers. To be honest, I was heavily inspired by Stephen King's 'Doctor Sleep' when I started writing this story.
