I didn't think Jack would give it to her..I mean I probably would've, but I didn't think he would. I've seen too many fake tears to belive her though.
I enjoyed Jack's determination throughout to bury Carly the tyrant and his unwillingness. This changes things but if you say the cousin is coming back, a separation from Carly may become his new torture.

I'm still trying to discover the exact tone i want to take with this one, but i do have major plot points planned out, so i will continue to write chapters, albeit slowly. the mystery kidnapper wasn't necessarily trying to keep Peter, but simply put him in a dangerous place and force him to get out of it. obviously, more will be given on that later on. glad you liked ms. tritter
