I'm intrigued. It has all the giantess executive tropes I like, it sounds like it'll be a really good story, and the fact that it's mostly written already means that it's not going to be abandoned halfway through. Keep it coming.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Happy to hear that.

It's actually all written believe it or not. There are a few chapter ideas I may add onto it, but it's basically done. Just about...I'd say 60% edited at the moment.

At this point, I feel like I know exactly what kind of people they are.

Author's Response:

Eyy, glad to hear it. I worry a lot about characterization stuff like that, so it's good to hear when it works out.

Prediction: Eva's about to get screwed.

Author's Response:

Now her revenge plot against Tina has been set up. Now I'm wondering who else Eva will shrink for revenge or fun.

Author's Response:

Who knows? It shall remain a mystery.

"Sadly, Eva couldn’t simply fire her outright. That was a step too far and would draw attention she didn’t need."

Nice little complication there. We all know what's going to happen eventually, but now there's a lot more suspense. Eva can't simply make Tina disappear; she has to do engineer something that'll make it work.

Author's Response:

It's tough when you can't have it all your way.

1) Don't think we're losing patience! We like a story that's more than cheap porn; proper character development in a full beginning makes the middle and end of the story that much more satisfying.

2) "If karma strikes, it'll be interesting to see a now giant Tina interact with a lil Miss Eva."

"The story of a domineering business woman and her meek assistant in a series of events that will forever change them both."

It just hit me that Asterisk only said that their lives will change, and didn't say how...

3) I bet that Eva assumes that Tina is meek and submissive because Tina engineers things when Eva isn't looking, and that's there's a world of schemes we don't know about because Eva's the POV character.

Who shrinks who? It's been established that Tina has the motivation and willpower to shrink Eva, but Eva still has the need for vengeance to shrink Tina. And how? The last we heard, the shrinking technology doesn't work on humans, so one of them is going to reveal that they know something that the other doesn't.

Author's Response:

Who knows? Guess we'll see.

And it's happened! Now we get to see how Tina changes, filtered through Eva's perspective.

This sort of alternative universe chapter is fun. It shows good stuff that you wouldn't see otherwise.

Going forward, it seems like there's going to be an ongoing misunderstanding. Eva made a lot of bad assumptions about what Tina was doing and what the others at the office were thinking. Eva still hasn't figured out that Tina didn't betray her the way she thinks, and that could have a big impact on how Eva perceives her situation and changes her outlook.

Author's Response:

Not gonna say a word haha. Time shall tell how it all plays out. Happy you liked it though!

@LovableTable: There's room for a dream of revenge later...

This development steps up the tension nicely. Previously, it was a question of when and how the two will mentally break. Tina was safe in every other way. Now, Dana is showing concern for Eva, which seems to have caught Tina by surprise. This could lead to an interesting parallel, where both Eva and Tina get in trouble because they misread their co-workers. This story could go in a lot of interesting directions.

Also, I personally like a long chapter.

Eva came so close to overhearing some interesting things, yet so far. What are they testing? And what do other people around the office think of her? It'll be interesting to see if Part 2 picks up on this, especially now that Dana's present.

And how much of a bump in a shirt would a one inch woman make? Small, but still noticeable if someone looks there?

Tina is a meek, mild-mannered person with a dark desire to dominate bullies, and now that she can act on it, it's changing her. Walter White was a meek, mild-mannered person who always had the seed of pride, and when he was able to bring it out, it completely changed him. Are we watching a giantess breaking bad?

@Barrowman: Either that, or a major mental break. If Eva isn't instantly trying to get help, then it seems like she'll be a big step closer to being broken next chapter, and then we see how Tina reacts to signs that she's actually making progress in breaking a bully...

@Barrowman: Tina is definitely nervous about something, as you say, and I bet that it's going to develop in to something. We already know that Dana is concerned about Eva's wellbeing, and my impression is that if Dana found out what happened to Eva, Tina would be fired and probably arrested. So Tina's keeping a secret. But as time goes on, it'll become increasingly clear that Eva is a missing person. How exactly is Tina going to keep her secret as the pressure mounts? She's has to; letting Eva go is not an option, she'll just reveal everything...unless Tina manages to break Eva so completely that she keeps the secret? The alternative seems to be to make Eva a cold case. I see one potential twist coming: whatever Amy's testing may provide another option.

Tina's nervousness also shows consciousness of guilt: Tina shows awareness that she's doing something wrong, something that society would not approve of. We're at the midpoint of a corruption arc: Tina is still aware of the good way to go about this, but she's also gone so deep into the bad way to go about this that she can't just go back to where she was at the beginning of the story. Eva's also near the midpoint of her own arc, although there's a number of plausible directions that it could go in.

I see a few directions Eva can go in from here:

1) It's obvious that she's wearing down mentally, no doubt aided by physical exhaustion, and it could plausibly become irreversible soon.

2) Eva's starting to get a sense that, if the roles were switched, she'd be just as bad if not worse. That train of thought could lead to a major change in her.

3) Some development at the office, probably from Amy or Dana, could set them both on a different course.

That shakes things up rather nicely. I hadn't thought that Amy would join Tina in this way, but it fits. Now that leaves a few questions:

1) What would Dana and the rest of the office think? Presumably it still needs to be kept secret from them. The more people know, the more points of failure, but Amy's in a position to deal with evidence in the lab.

2) What's Amy going to do with Eva? And what's she going to do now that she knows that humans can be safely shrunk?

3) What other progress has Amy been making in the lab?

4) How is Amy going to use this data? She can't tell the other scientists about any measurements or observations she makes about Eva without tipping them off that a human's been shrunk. She could, though, use the data to plan experiments that will provide data that isn't directly linked to Eva.

5) What happens when the police investigate Eva's disappearance and interview Tina and Amy?

We seem to be seeing a shift in Tina. Tina doesn't seem to hate Eva anymore; I think Tina's moved on to a new relationship and attitude with Eva. On the surface, Tina's being very nice, by giving Eva such a good living space, and she's not being outwardly cruel, but Eva has a point: this is still a kidnapping. Eva isn't free to go, which is ethically kind of important. Tina has become a teddy bear stuffed with darkness.

I bet Amy gave Tina some recording devices for the new house. It would give her the data she craves...

And it was funny to watch Tina chase Eva with a plush Pokemon.

I also read the beach story, and cat boob is so classically Tina it was funny. And the thing Amy does at the end is interesting, because it's erotically interesting and would be par for the course in many other stories, but sticks out here because it's not a thing of the sort we've seen in this story so far.

Author's Response:

"A teddy bear stuffed with darkness." - I won't lie, that got a laugh out of me. Won't comment much on your speculation as ever, but I will say Tina is certainly not a perfect person. This is a story as much about her own shortcomings as it is about Eva's, and how the two are handling said shortcomings.

Hope you enjoyed the beach story too. It's more of a fluffy side story thing so did indeed play up some of the erotic elements more. Certainly something more geared towards toying with the characters a bit without a lot of stakes of plot.

@Barrowman: It's subtle, but I see it now. Tina is now fully dominant over Eva, but she still has not learned to dominate people her own size. With Amy, it's easy to see how this will go. Tina will become Amy's unwitting research assistant in observation of a test subject. But with Dana, there's a major conflict. Tina cares about Dana's opinion, but she has to go against what Dana would think of Eva's situation. This seems like a conflict where something's going to have to give, and the most obvious course of Tina's character arc is to dominate normal-sized people the way she dominates shrunken people, in which case Tina would become a force of nature. The hatred of bullies that was set up earlier would pay off there, and the rationalizations needed to justify kidnapping somebody will give that quite the dark twist.

As for Eva, she does still have her will. I wonder if she could fully process what it means to be helpless and bullied, while keeping that will at least somewhat intact?

@Asterisk: Don't worry, I enjoyed the beach story as a fun diversion.

Eva's perspective ends by calling Tina "Miss Tina". It's subtle, and yet tells so much.
