Author's Response: A long time me ago I'd actually planned to give Judy a sister. But ultimately, one controlling matriarch in Scott's life is probably more than enough.

To quote another of my favorite authors, "I'm proud of you, you're learning!"

This chapter opens many many possibilities... oh, I forgot to write it before, but I hope you realize that sooner or later you'll have to write more about those studies ;)

I would like to eventually write more stories set in this universe that touch on backstory things like those studies

if I were not so partial to dominant ladies with a tiny in their stockings, I'd say this is the best first chapter in the series; regardless, it's a wonderful way to close the year!

Great to see Nancy is back! (even if, Nancy is back, a long time without Maggie... too good to be true, it must be a trap)

About Nancy, I really really hope Ms Stevens remembers her agreement with Scott.

In the meantime, I'll wait to see what's so special about this woman that Judy would actually let him out of the house with her(!)

Nancy's always glad to be back. Judy does remember the agreement with Scott, but that doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't define some of the terms differently than he does. And we'll hear a little more about this woman in coming chapters. Nice catch on the typo.

I was under the impression the agreement was not to let Nancy touch him or something like that, but it's one of the few parts of the story I'm NOT rereading, so I'm probably wrong. Still, that he stayed calm after "Did that bother you?" is amazing, he could have at least asked that she keeps Nancy away from him period rather than building a blacklist of things she won't do AFTER she's done them at least once - or if it doesn't work, use a whitelist: agree that Nancy is allowed x,y,z and nothing else.

Still shocked.

The agreement is more that Nancy won't do what she did to him at the end of TO6 again; she's still cleared to play with him. Scott just decides to pick his battles

So she likes him tiny; mommy's timeout 1 wasn't *that* non-canon after all :)

After that "with..." I was wondering how much she knows about his current conditions, but I guess she will learn (almost) everything from Judy's book - I'm honestly curious to see her back when she's read it.

The first Timeout is tricky because while it's non-canon because of the actual events not lining up with the rest of the stories in the series, there are certain character or tonal details that are the same, such as Ella maybe not minding having Scott be so small. Ella does know a lot about Scott's current conditions, which is why she's hesitant to leave. And he has at least a year left.

"she hadn’t worn him in her shoe for a year" - even knowing it it's weird to read (adds "improves sibling relationships" to list of advantages of shrinking detention)

And also, "It had certainly taken him and Ella a few tries to figure it out" must be saved for posterity, someone someday needs to write about people scratching their heads until they figure it out :)

Wtf - thirteen months?! That explains a lot... but I guess Judy can get away counting time with the family as visits.

Basically, yeah. Ella can come into the house, and she can go places with Scott as long as a family member comes along. But still not quite the same for Scott.

1. it will probably leave many women without a single man to, ehm, help them
2. why should the government tell american women what to do with their men?
