To paraphrase the Wizard of Oz (re: his cardiac advice to the Tin Man):

"Voice amplifiers will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable."

Seriously, though; this chapter was a hilarious "foretaste" of what is to "come." That is; what Paul will no doubt experience--literally--at Brook hands. Oh, I'm sure it will be semi-innocent fun from her viewpoint! But, for Paul, it's going to be proof that one should always be careful what one wishes for...as one just might get it.

Yep. He's going to get way more than he bargained for. What I love about writing this chapter is how in control he thinks he is, contrary to his size and Brooke's privately revealed personality. Brooke has stated earlier in the story, for the reader's benefit, her inclination towards a dominating relationship with a shrunken man. Only Kim knows, which is why she tried to warn him.
