I like this.  My favorite line is "The two titanic, eager, feet that were now locked on to getting him under their embrace as soon as possible were going get what they wanted".  I like writing that shows the feet having a sort of mind of their own, with their own emotions and  desires.  

Anyway, I hope Mel picks up running every morning and she uses Alisa and Pete as her insoles every time.
