Great start on this, I'm enjoying the 'inner thoughts', that the charactors have.  Assuming what things will actually 'be like' for them, after this strange occurance.  I really like the mixed emotions you've displayed here....

I'm intrigued!   Can't wait to see what happens next, your writing is excellent too!
