I really liked this chapter. Sorry if my past comments made me sound like I was hating on Ramona and Greg. I just always thought that they were an odd choice for focal characters because they didn't do much in the main story. This prequel story suits them much better.

Judging by how surprised Ramona is by people she knows elevating, I have to assume that people didn't start elevating until maybe a year before this story begins. When did people start elevating in this universe?

Without spoiling a reveal I have planned Elevation has be happening for few years but was so rare no one noticed.
