Since English is a second language for me, while reading the story I couldn't get out of my head the idea that she spoke like a boy... but I'll trust gadgetmawombo on that ;p

 

Seriously, great story, and it looks like it still has a lot to give.. so please KEEP. WRITING!

Carol is a major tomboy and cuses like a sailor, so I see how she would sound like a boy
