Emily hit him with a dose of reality, and it landed about as softly as a baseball bat to the face. I was really surprised by this section, short as it may have been, because it seems so uncommon in these kinds of stories. It hurt, yes, but it was also refreshing to read.

Curious to see if this will lead to any significant character development on the protagonist's part. Maybe it could work as a wake-up call that pushes him to get a job on his own, or even just reflect and come to terms with what he actually wants in life.Of course, the deadline looms, ever present... And our dear protagonist rivals a bag of bricks in intelligence.

It's really interesting to think about the world these characters live in. I remember he was described as (at least mildly) attractive, and it makes you wonder: would he be able to be quite so... "picky" isn't the right word, but it almost fits, if he didn't have his looks going for him? He certainly hasn't been starved for choice (even if they're not options he appreciates lol).

Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I´m glad you liked the chapter :D

Yeah, sometimes it´s nice to work out of the line with this stories. To add some reality to the mesh. After all, this is fictional people with real lives, and there must be a bit of everything in them.

Our main protagonist... well, he does have his options. And, he thinks he reserves the right to reject any girl he thinks won´t make a nice couple. However, there´s a deadline for him to choose.

You´ll see how things work over the next few chapters ;D
