Ooh, this was a really fun chapter! Any chapter where Angie gets to play with a tiny Ben "doll" is great in my book!
I liked how Ben's family saw him off, too. Maria still concerned and Maggie giving him that slight, lighthearted tease while reassuring him that she'll be there if he needs her. It was very warm and really highlighted the bond Ben shares with his family.
I'm glad Angie addressed the money offer with Ben. She's right that it was awkward of her to do that, but Ben handled this really well. He knew she meant well and just felt bad and probably a little guilty that she has so much money at her disposal while the Carter women are working so hard to make a fraction of what she gets just because of who her parents are. So instead of feeling insulted, he felt appreciative that she was willing to do that.
Angie being self-conscious of her house was pretty telling. At first I thought she just might have felt awkward showing off how well off she is while Ben's family is struggling, but I really appreciate how much deeper than that you dove here. She doesn't feel comfortable in that house. It's a monument to her parents, two people that seem to largely ignore who their daughter actually is and just try to put her where they think she fits into their own lives. Her comments for each room of the house were heartbreaking, and it was sad to see her bitterness at not being able to feel that sense of connection that she clearly has always longed for.
Not until now, anyway.
And yeah, Ben's family situation definitely weighed on her when they first arrived at the house as well. Ben assuring her that living in a glorified castle didn't make her a bad person was really sweet, but her noting that it didn't make her a good person either shows that she's not completely sold on that idea. And the fact that she was so concerned all this time that Ben would view her as a "privileged princess," making her almost ashamed of her family's money, gives us an idea of how long she's been into him. She's cared about what he thinks of her this entire time.
Angie's room being so different from the rest of the house was cool, and I loved Ben's reaction to that. He's dealt with all of this so well, both the size and Angie's wealth. It would be really easy for someone like Ben, who has seen his family struggle so much just to get by, to be bitter about Angie's house. He could easily minimize her problem with her parents and be upset that she "dared' to complain while his family was struggling to keep the lights on.
But he never does that. He takes her problems seriously, and he's just happy to get to know the real her. Ironically, Ben in some ways seems better off, his closeness to his family contrasting pretty hard with the emptiness Angie conveys whenever talking about her parents. I really like how much those two opposites are highlighted throughout the story, but it was especially noticeable here.
Angie playing with her Ben doll was adorable! A light bit of criticism here, but I would have been happy to see more of that scene. It felt like her actually playing and fiddling with his limbs was kind of short. I'm not even talking from a fetish perspective, as this is a PG story. But just from a narrative perspective, it seems to me like she would have played around with him a bit more, given how shyly intrigued she was at the prospect in the first place.
And by the way, that whole thing where she hovered her fingers over him talking about how tempting it was, never just grabbing him and apologizing immediately afterward, was perfect! There was an innocence there that I loved!
I was a bit surprised to see Ben tell Angie about Morgan's feelings for him and him turning her down, but I think this is a good thing. Angie knowing about Morgan's feelings for Ben means that she can make sure Ben and her don't flaunt their new relationship around Morgan, which is pretty cool. I thought it was great that Angie was so considerate not just for Morgan's feelings but Ben's as well. She showed an emotional maturity here that made me like her even more!
Angie almost stripping naked in front of Ben and him not being able to look away was a really cute moment. Seeing both of them so flustered had me smiling, and I like that they both apologized instead of Angie getting frustrated and taking it out on Ben, as usually happens in these situations in these kinds of stories.
It was sweet that Ben wanted to sleep near Angie than sleep in the dollhouse that was only slightly too big for him (that was a great detail, by the way, making the house almost right for his size but not quite). His reasoning made perfect sense, and the two of them laying in bed together was a heartwarming moment for me. Also, the way you described Angie's face throughout this part, from the freckles on her nose that Ben couldn't see when she wore makeup to hitting up that goddess-to-mortal comparison to Ben noting how Angie's whole face seemed to reshape itself with her smile. This, again, was a great way to demonstrate the difference in scale between them and also make Angie feel like an otherworldly beauty at the same time.
Ben actually asking Angie to be his girlfriend and even dropping the l-word was unexpected, but I loved the spontaneity of the moment. And Angie trying to tease him, only to get flustered after he got worried that she was rejecting him melted my heart!
And Angie tying this moment in with their early debate stuff was a nice touch, too. That she fell for him way back then, and that, like Morgan, it was because he helped her, this time with rebuilding her debate instead of math stuff, was really, really sweet. Going back a bit in the chapter, that stubbornness she mentions here ties in with her admitting that debating Ben was more about getting his attention and actually being heard and understood for once (because her parents don't do either of those things when it comes to her).
I liked that point a lot. For Angie, their whole rivalry was about finally finding somebody who engaged with her ideas and just actually listened to her, even when he was destroying those ideas. Angie was so desperate to be seen that she was okay if she had to pretend to hate the person actually seeing her and watching as he dismantled her arguments. For that "hate" really be a cover for her growing love for him is such a wonderful concept!

Have to admit I've always been a sucker for a good childhood friend thing. Been rooting for his other friend but Angie grew on me. That said boy that last line there.... I wonder what other kinds of massages he can give alone uninterrupted and away from work's prying eyes. I normally do NOT read PG stories here cause I like spicy stuff but somehow you got me invested... I won't try to get my hopes up TOO MUCH FOR NEXT chapter but damn. Keep up the good work this is
Author's Response:
That's really nice to hear, thanks so much!
I know a lot of people come on here for the spicy bits, and I'll admit that's not really my forte to begin with, but I also just really enjoy writing wholesome relationship-based stories with shrinking added in, and I'm glad there's also plenty of people that enjoy those types of stories too.
I hope you'll keep enjoying the rest of the story :)

I loved this chapter! It was so fun yet touching at the same time.
I think my biggest takeaway is how Angie carried herself at the dinner. She was so respectful with Maria. I thought it was really sweet that she asked her for formal permission to watch Ben until this all got straightened out. That decision had already been made, and I have no doubt she would have sided with Ben if his mother had tried to veto the idea and he still wanted to move forward with it, but it was really nice to make her feel included.
Of course, the two of them having that conversation so high above Ben's head made him feel little bit like a pet, but Angie seemed to realize this (and other things he was having to put up with). That part when she complimented how he was dealing with his situation and how people were treating him was so considerate of her. No one meant any offense, yet Tessa, Maggie, and even Maria a slight bit (again, her not asking Ben his thoughts on staying with Angie and talking about it like he wasn't even there) were making him feel a tiny bit degraded, even if he took it all in stride. He knew it was all innocent behavior on their part, but for Angie to acknowledge this was really cool on her part. I love how observant she is and that she has the heart to factor those observations in when interacting with someone.
Maggie was the most fun here, obviously! It was great to see her messing with her tiny brother, somehow even finding a way to make her informing Tessa that he's not a pet a teasing opportunity. But despite that, she was really sweet in her own right, too. giving him the crumb of breadstick, brushing the mini-crumbs off his shirt, and, of course, sweeping him off his feet for that heart-melting hug. And I absolutely believed her when she said she'd drop everything to come help him if he ever needed her to. This is why her constant ribbing now that he's three inches tall doesn't seem to bother him too much; he knows she's in his corner if something serious happens.
I also liked the way you handled Maria, blending her deep concern with a hint of awe and wonder. This is an amazing thing she's seeing. Yeah, people know this tech exists, but so few people ever get to see an actual shrunken human that of course she's going to be wowed by it.
But that never once outweighed her worry for her son. While she was amazed to see him at an impossible size, her fear for her son's safety at three inches tall was the first thing I noticed in every line of her dialogue. This could have been a tough balance to strike, but I think you did a fantastic job of it!
Tessa just kind of snuck in there and stole the show, though. God, I loved her! The way she went too far gushing over him and said he was like a little pet (I really don't think she meant it the way it sounded; she was just overwhelmed by his cuteness at that size) made me laugh, and I was legitimately happy for her when Ben let her touch him. That shit made her day! Not to mention that her interest in him seemed to go beyond a mild curiosity, as Maggie indicated and Angie seemed to pick up on as well. But yeah, every interaction she had with the family, every mistake she made when she talked about Ben, was so damn adorable!
Back to Angie, though, I like that she's already starting to think of ways that Ben could still take part in regionals even if he's still tiny by then. She knows how important that is to him (because she feels the exact same way about it), and she's committed to making sure he doesn't miss out no matter how tall he is at the time! I had a good feeling about her, even the first time we met her back when Ben still thought she hated him, but man has she turned out to be special!
Her offering the Carters financial help was a really sweet gesture, but yeah, there's no way Maria is going to take her up on that. There are so many reasons why that's a bad idea, no matter how pure Angie's intentions are. Her heart was in the right place, though, it's just that the real-world implications of taking money from someone you know, especially your son's budding maybe girlfriend hopefully, are just too much.
Also, I'm not so sure Angie's parents feel the same way or would be on board with that. So unless Angie gets a ridiculous allowance (which is possible, since her family seems to have so much money), I'm not so sure she'd be able to follow through on that.
I really enjoyed this chapter, and I'm still excited anticipating what the next chapter will bring! You've done a hell of a job keeping anticipation high between chapters.
Author's Response:
Glad you liked Tessa! I promised there wouldn't be any more throw-away characters early on, but I wanted a fun little waitress scenario when I was working on this part of the story.
I have very clear Maggie bias, and I always try to make her have the most fun interactions. Also shows that I put more focus on her than Maria overall, but I can't help myself. Maggie's a favorite.
And it's good to hear that you're still liking the story outside of the appointments! I really thought it was time to switch gears with that. There might have been more I could have done there, or introduce more characters, but as the story was drawing closer to its end around these parts, I wanted to work on other events outside of TT,

I love the concept of the story so far, but is there anyway we can turn up the heat a little bit? I think it could use more descriptions, senses (smell) etc. Maybe the sister gets a free massage after work while Ben is tiny, since they wouldn’t be able to afford treatments otherwise?
Author's Response:
Glad you're enjoying it so far!
It's true that I could use some more work on that department, it's not something I feel I'm good at yet when it comes to descriptions of senses, I'm a lot more focused on the gentle interactions and dialogue during those parts where Ben is interacting with hands or feet. Definitely noted for future chapters and works though!
As for Maggie, I do have something planned for her at some point, I'll make sure she has her fun before the story ends. :)

I was wondering how you'd work in some size shenanigans outside of Tiny Treatments. The re-sizing chamber having issues is a pretty good idea!
But first, man, how about that confession! You portrayed Ben's nervousness in the moment perfectly. He had settled in just before this, but this is a big deal (he, in all his teenage drama glory, had called this probably one of the most important conversations of his life, after all), and him struggling to get the words out and almost giving up altogether was pretty realistic.
And I love that Angie encouraged him the way she did. Yeah, she started with some light teasing, but once she saw that he was really having trouble, she was there to let him know that it was okay to say what he had to say. That little tilting of the chin with her index finger was really sweet, too!
I also enjoyed her comment about having him in the palm of her hand both literally and figuratively. Because yeah, she could have destroyed him in that moment, not just physically, but emotionally as well, if she really wanted to. He was hanging on her every word at that point, and I like that she took a second to tease it, maybe even savor that level of attention from him, before letting him off the hook and admitting that she feels the same way.
It was a nice touch to have them both note that they've been into each other for a long time but really fell for one another at particular moments: Ben when she told him about her teaching aspirations and Angie when she saw his dedication to his family. I think it was an important distinction, pointing out the difference between a crush or romantic curiosity and truly being interested in someone once you see who they really are. It was also great to see you draw back on those moments, too, as they were both powerful and touching.
Again, you nailed Angie's size perfectly! The platform trembling at the slightest twitch of her toes really sells the power she has over Ben in that moment. And again, him having to look so far up just to get a look at the face of the girl he likes makes me smile every time.
I do have some slight criticism here. While I like the idea of re-sizing chamber being broken, I think you could have executed that part of the scene in a way that maintained a better suspension of disbelief.
I had two small problems with this scene.
First, Kimberly barging in and announcing the issue in front of a client is kind of unprofessional, isn't it? Granted, Kimberly isn't perfect, as the phone issue showed a few chapters back, but bringing a client into a work-related issue seems like a pretty big mistake, even if she's stressed about it.
To be fair, I did like how upset she seemed about the problem, both because it shows how much she cares about Ben and because it makes the lack of professionalism a tiny bit more palatable from a believability standpoint. So I can kind of get over this one, especially since I'm guessing the reason Angie needed to know is that she's about to become Ben's caretaker, which sounds incredibly fun!
Second, and much more importantly, the company sending Ben off to a "trusted caretaker" doesn't seem practical to me. What if Ben is a terrible judge of character? If something happens to him, the company would be liable, even if Ben chose the bad caretaker. The fact that he's stuck tiny is their fault, so it's hard to believe they wouldn't cover their asses and make him stay at on site until the machine was fixed and he was back to normal size.
I think this could have been rectified if Ben had fought (in this chapter or the next) to be released to a person of his choosing, and someone (like Angie) would have to sign a waiver alongside Ben absolving the company of blame before letting her take him out of their protection.
This is a small nitpick, and I can overlook it because I like the overall direction the story is going in, but I did find it hard to believe that the company's protocols would ignore obvious issues with him being released from them. I don't think this needed to be a big thing, maybe just a sentence or two explaining the situation and another one with both Angie and Ben signing agreements, but I feel like this should have been addressed. Who knows, though? Maybe you've got that covered somehow at the start of the next chapter.
But despite having some criticism in this review, I absolutely loved this chapter! The confession was everything it needed to be and more, and I'm now all-in on Angie and Ben as a prospective couple. They're a lot of fun together. And I'm also eager to see Ben be taken from Tiny Treatments and entrusted (most likely) to Angie's care (even if I thought that part could have been written in a more believable way).
I'm already envisioning Angie taking Ben to that family dinner, maybe even a regional debate prep session over the weekend! There's a lot of fun stuff you could do with this, so I'm interested to see what you have in mind!
Author's Response:
Hey, you know by now I love criticism of any sort to work with!
The first issue about Kimberly barging in. Since she knows they're acquainted and would probably want/need to hear the situation, it made sense to me, so that was kind of the logic there.
On the second issue, funny enough I did make sure to address that point in the next part in a hopefully proper way (nothing too special), but I did leave it on an awkward note here for the sake of a cliffhanger haha.
But even then, I do agree that it would seem a bit odd otherwise that they'd simply hand him over since the company would be liable.
I did have a lot of fun coming up with some new situations that break away from TT for once, I hope it's something people will enjoy reading! And as always, I appreciate the constructive feedback. :)

Date: June 16 2025 6:35 AM Title: Chapter 34 - I Will Do What I Must
Damn, I keep falling behind!
I love that Ben gave Morgan a proper conversation in the last chapter. He kind of did that in the coffee shop, but this talk was more definitive and left no room for doubt. Morgan took it like a champ, too! She's the best, holding it together and being supportive despite losing out on what she really wants.
And my heart broke alongside Ben's when she laughed off crying into a tub of ice cream that night! That's so sad. The worst part is that I don't know if Ben calling her to check up on her would make things better or worse, so he's probably better off just leaving her alone, which sucks. She's in pain, and Ben can basically do nothing to help, since he's inadvertently the cause.
I also loved the nervous flirty energy Angie brought to her texting game, those dreaded dots showing that she's thinking, deleting, sweating out the proper wording to things, all while we see Ben doing the same thing on the other end. But when she called him tiny at the end there, it was fucking adorable!
Shit, she even admitted that she was looking forward to the session, to having him tiny at her feet. I definitely like where this is going!
Then, at school when they were face to fact, she was really shy. She even took Ben's idea from before and had them switch up partners during debate prep. She also clearly wanted to say more when she backed out and told him she'd see him later.
Now, on to this chapter! This! This is what the story has been building toward! The Ben and Angie stuff is all gold already, and we haven't even gotten to the good part yet!
But first, it was a nice twist that Dr. Rivera is an old friend of Ben's mom. I never made the connection that she was a doctor and Maria worked in the medical field as well. I'm not sure if this will be something the story draws on down the line, but I kind of hope this was mentioned for a reason!
That conversation between Kimberly and Ben was also really awesome! Yeah, her getting the whole story from Ben was good, but I was more impressed by the fact that they had it through the shrinking process. Ben still gets a little dazed when he changes size, but he's clearly comfortable at three inches tall, at least when he's in the hands of someone he trusts, like Kimberly. It just really stood out to me that the conversation didn't even break as he stepped into the chamber and shrunk. This was nicely done!
But maybe the most stunning thing here was the way you sold Angie's size! You've done this before, both with her and the other clients he's seen (not to mention Dr. Rivera and Kimberly),. but it just felt ... more here. The way Angie's soft voice boomed and vibrated through Ben's body, especially when she giggled innocently and the vibration traveled through her foot to him. The way she bent over to peer down at him, her hair cascading down the sides of her face as she looked down on him like a benevolent goddess. The way her shins seemed to stretch upward forever and her big toe was as thick as his body. All of this set the scene perfectly and made Ben seem even more vulnerable than before.
And there's just something special about a girl's voice booming and dominating a tiny guys existence as she blushes shyly and speaks quietly (on her scale). It was so adorable when she blushed and accepted Ben's compliment while her voice was so loud, not matching her demeanor at all. I love this so much!
Angie remembering that he likes the color blue, such a minor thing he brought up months ago, is such a clear sign that she's into him! There have been several of those (basically the last three chapters, if not the whole story), but this is an even bigger tell than the mocha was! Not only that, but she wore that same blue dress to their last session, also leaving her hair down like before. Did she subconsciously suspect that Ben was her technician the entire time? The mind works in mysterious ways ...
It was nice to see Ben establish that he always respected Angie and that he never hated her instead of just jumping in about his feelings for her. Clear the air and bury the past before setting off for the future.
That they were both envious of each other, thinking the other was pretty much perfect while their own lives were a mess was kind of cute, too! That also shows that we really have no idea what someone else is going through and that everyone is good at hiding things from the outside world when they feel like they need to. It's been very satisfying seeing these two move past that.
I'm glad they touched on Ben's family situation again, and Angie noted that she didn't realize things were that bad when he said something before. I'm sure part of Angie feels guilty for her complaining about her "high end" problems when he's struggling in the real world. I keep going back to her being annoyed that her parents want her to attend Harvard and Yale while Ben is struggling to pay for college application fees, but it perfectly epitomizes the different worlds they're living in.
Having said that, I respect Ben for kind of dismissing the notion that her problems matter less because she's well off financially. He didn't say that directly, but he apologized for judging her, for not just talking to her and instead viewing her "perfection" as a challenge. He acknowledged that he made some assumptions because of her class and that he now realizes he was wrong to do that.
Have I mentioned how much I like Ben?
On the other side, Angie admitting that she thought Ben was living a perfect life because of his authenticity was eye-opening. Yeah, she's been talking about feeling forced to play a role and her parents trying to decide things for her, but I never made the connection that she looked at Ben and saw a freedom that was well beyond her grasp. That she tried to take some of that from his debate style and incorporate it into her own is kind of sweet, really.
So the two of them saw the lives they thought they wanted in each other, and that seems to be a big part of the reason this rivalry became a thing in the first place. That makes it all the more fulfilling to see them realize that both of them are all too human and have their own problems.
I thought it was a nice touch that both of them started to settle in as the conversation progressed, and we even got to see a little bit of Angie's flirty side show itself with that "Mr. Carter" stuff.
And then of course, you cut us off right when Ben was about to confess! Thanks for that! Ha!
So yeah, I'm really eager to see where this goes next chapter. All the signs are pointing toward Angie feeling quite similarly to Ben about the nature of their relationship, and I'm excited to see if that shows in how she responds to him.
Author's Response:
Ben and Angie finally opening up to each other was one of my favorite things to work on, after all the building up.
I wasn't really sure how to go about it, but I at least had the opportunity to bring up more things that couldn't be discussed at the coffee date.
Rivera and Maria knowing each other was something I came up with later, not something I had planned out from the start but it just made sense!
I'm glad you like Ben as he is, he's been making mistake after mistake up until now, but he tries his best. Just like Jordan, my main characters tend to be kind of prone to making things worse before they make it better, but they have good intentions. :)

This story reminds me that family and friends can make a difference. Strange, isn’t it? How even in a site that is mostly about sexual fantasies and fetishes we can find some very touching stories. Or maybe not so strange, since fantasies are some of the things we have of more intimate.
That’s it. Nothing too elaborate this time. Just wanted to express my gratitude for being able to read stories like this.
Oh, wait. Here's a letter for the main characters: Carter, you shoud have writen “Because it’s you, my gigantic love”! And Phillips, just admit it: you always wanted tiny Ben at your feet any day, any time... forever!
LOL
As always, thanks for writing and sharing. Stay safe!
Author's Response:
There's definitely room for touching stories inbetween the many stories that just get straight to the 'action' :)
I like both types of stories, but the ones that build up relationships are my favorite.

Date: June 14 2025 6:57 AM Title: Chapter 32 - Nothing Stronger Than Family
Wow, I wasn't expecting Ben to have anything sorted out so soon after telling Angie the truth!
I feel bad for Morgan, but I think Ben handled that conversation really, really well. It just comes down to the fact that he doesn't see Morgan in the same way that she sees him, which is tough but not something that can be helped. She's really important to him, but the love he has for her isn't of the romantic variety. He did an excellent job of making all of that clear to her during his second "coffee date" of the day.
I came away from this conversation convinced that he has learned a lot about honesty and openness from this whole experience. It was really cool to see the how all of this has shaped him as a person!
As for Morgan, it was so sad when she said that he shouldn't treat her with kid gloves because she's used to feeling this way. It had to have been such a struggle being his closest friend, his personal confidant, all while wishing he'd sweep her off her feet. Hopefully it'll get a little easier now that she knows that he doesn't feel the same way about her, and she'll be able to move past this with their friendship still intact and maybe even stronger than it was before.
And in this chapter, we saw Ben finally start to admit that he's crushing on Angie. I love how much shit his mom and sister gave him about it, like he was the only person in the world that didn't know! In fact, seeing Maria and Maggie a little more laid back for once was a treat in general. I think this is the first time we've seen both of them when they weren't dead tired from either going to or coming from work.
Tiny Treatments giving him that bonus was not only cool of them, but it actually made a lot of sense to me. While Kimberly thought he'd get a talking to about professional standards at some point (and he still might), I think Dr. Rivera was likely more worried that the stress of the whole thing was going to cost her an employee. As noted before, it's been hard for her to find people who are both comfortable with the shrinking process itself and willing to "work with" giant people while in that state. So I could see the good doctor just being happy that Ben is still a part of the team, let alone appreciate his flexibility during the Angie-Sabrina situation.
I thought it was awesome that Ben wanted to give his bonus to his mom and sister. He really is doing this for them rather than himself. I admire that about him. Likewise, I love how his mom shut that shit down, knowing that he earned that money and needed to put it toward his own future. Maggie's compromise made a lot of sense, too, and it could be fun to see the family out having a good time, assuming that makes it into the story.
I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think this is the first time we've heard anything about Ben's dad, right? I was wondering if he had died or something, but from what little we got here, it sounds like he just bailed on the family. That's fucked up, but I'm impressed that Ben has been able to step up and become more of a man than his father probably ever will be, even before he turns 18!
This is a minor nitpick, but Ben has said for two chapters now that he texted Angie and they met at the coffee place, but didn't she text him? Am I misremembering that?
Lastly, I'm excited to see that Angie has already booked her next session and love that Ben found out via Tiny Treatments rather than Angie talking it out with him first. This comes off as a tad bit impulsive by Angie, something an organized, sugar-packet-organizing girl like her would never do on a whim, so it feels special with him finding out this way. And the fact that she wants to see him tiny again is really interesting. Does she think it'll make talking to him easier? Does she want to tell him more secrets, this time trusting him as himself? Does she just think he's cuter at three inches tall?
I'm very much looking forward to that session, mostly because I really have no idea what to expect. I mean, yeah, Morgan found out about him during her session, but obviously Ben stopped massaging her after that. I'm curious how Angie will handle that aspect of it and also how she'll handle the size difference, since Ben shared how it changes the way he sees her from that perspective. Will she be more awkward, trying to avoid that? Or will she lean into it?
And how is she going to handle him dropping another bombshell on her mid-session when he confesses his feelings for her?
Yeah, this should be fun! Now I'm just left wondering when she scheduled the appointment for? If it's only a day or two from now, that level of eagerness on her part could only mean good things! If it's a bit longer than that, she's likely being a bit more cautious and reserved, which would be completely understandable.
Either way, I hope we don't have to wait too long to see it (and from what you said before, it sounds like we won't)!
Author's Response:
You're right, it was the first time I'm really bringing up the dad here! I figured someone might wonder eventually where he is. He has no presence in the story itself, he's just absent (and also the cause for the financial struggles by leaving)
And true, Angie texted him, I accidentally kept in a part from a small story change I made where Ben was the one texting Angie asking if they could talk, but then I reversed it later on. Thanks for pointing it out!
As for the next session, there'll be some new things happening soon. The appointments have been pretty routine up until now, so it's going to be switched up quite a bit from there, hopefully something people will enjoy reading. :)

Date: June 12 2025 10:42 AM Title: Chapter 30 - Coffee Date
Your description of what is like to being tiny is really insightful. Seriously: to exist in someone else's space. That is actually deep and a way to express a kind of ideal love. At the same time, it summs up the core of Ben’s growth: he is breaking barriers, both his and from Angie, Morgan and Winters now, existing in their space. I enjoy this insightful side of your storytelling since day one. It takes time, effort, character development… and it’s totally worth the wait. What I am trying to say is… congrats on best chapter so far!
Now that the cat is out of the bag, I guess both will be able to really enjoy each other’s company and a more deep and fun debating experience – I am waiting for the day Angie will go to Ben’s house to fully grasp not just how shallow the complaints about her life are… but also how he is not made of steel and is working double to be where he is: near her.
But where does this put Morgan? Yes, everyone is friends, but I hope she doesn’t just give up for Angie’s sake. If anything, I am expecting for her to go into attack mode and try to be more agressive in conquering Ben’s heart. Like: Oh no, bitch, if Ben is going to exist in some gigantic feet those will be mine! LOL.
As for Winters, in sight of her near 0 social experience, a tiny might be what she ends up seeing as a ideal partner. Winters is still in the dark about who he really is, but nothing will convince me she is not jealous of what him and Angie have, so finding out he is her tiny friend might fuel her idealistic fantasies even more – something like finally being able to have what Angie has. Maybe Winters could sneak on him after a session – Kimberly has a emergency and leaves just for a few minutes and...! Maybe Winters would even try to shrink him even more to sneak him and have him under complete control…
Thinking about that dream sequence even now… if Angie looks divine to Ben at three inches, would she look monstrous if he was a ant? And would she still love him if he became a ant?
As always, many thanks for writing and sharing! Stay safe!
Author's Response:
Always appreciate your thoughts on what could happen!
I have some events coming up that I think are pretty fun, and will also break away from the Tiny Treatments segments in the near future. :)

Date: June 12 2025 7:09 AM Title: Chapter 30 - Coffee Date
Hey, we finally got the real talk in this one!
Going back to the previous chapter first, though, I thought it was really sweet how both Kimberly and Dr. Rivera were so worried about Ben. Dr. Rivera chasing him down outside the facility not to yell at him but to check on him was particularly heartwarming! Tiny Treatments seems like a nice place to work, despite all the foot-related incidents ...
And I took it as a great sign that Angie both greeted him casually and ordered him that mocha, memorizing his pre-debate order. Yeah, she's definitely got a thing for Ben!
And of course she's the type of person who "organizes" the sugar packets when she's nervous!
Okay, on to this chapter! Ben and Angie talking, like really talking was so great to read! I've been waiting for this, and it didn't disappoint!
Ben used Maggie's advice here! He apologized instead of making it about him. It was nice to see him have it together enough to remember to do that this time. He still struggled a bit (hence all the mocha-sipping), but he did a much better job of explaining without making himself sound like a victim.
Angie's emotions were really complicated here, but I think she did a great job laying everything out. Mainly, I was impressed with her navigating her humiliation, anger, and disappointment with the fact that she couldn't even be fully mad at Ben because she liked talking to tiny stranger him. I can understand that. It had to be mortifying to find out that she confided in her rival, but at the time, when she didn't know it was him, it was so freeing and felt so good! Hopefully they can get to a place where she feels that freedom without the mortification!
I love that Ben went into detail about his family's struggles and that Angie immediately showed signs of sympathizing with him. I was kind of hoping to hear her thoughts on that, but I'm still hopeful that this might come later on. That's been a big part of the story on his end but has mostly been separate from the school-related stuff. I mean, Ben mentioned to the rest of the team that he was doing this to help his family, but we really don't know how much they know about his family's situation. But I do think Angie has a lot on the brain right now, so it's understandable that this is just one more thing she's processing.
Ben did a hell of a job explaining why he didn't stop Angie from pouring her heart out to him. He panicked initially, but then he started to realize that he had been so wrong about her all this time, and he was too focused on that to tell her the truth. That makes a lot of sense and has to be reassuring to Angie. This wasn't a joke to him at all; it was a profound and meaningful experience, maybe as much for him as it was for her. That has to make her feel that her secrets are safe with him.
I was surprised that Ben mentioned that Sabrina stepped in to fill the appointment Angie walked out of. I'd argue that even that is skirting the line a bit, but I was so glad to see him pull back and tell Angie that he couldn't go into the details of their conversation. I'm sure Angie either was or will be too, as that means that he'll take her secrets seriously as well.
In any case, I'm was happy that Ben was able to humanize Sabrina to Angie a little bit.
But once these two got into a groove, they were quite cute together, with their sips to buy time, gently playful banter, and slight awkwardness when it came to figuring out what to do next. I really like these two together. I also really like Ben with Morgan, but for different reasons. I'm really curious to see which way you go with this, but my money is still on Angie right now, and honestly? I think that's what I want to see, too, even though, again, I wouldn't hate seeing him end up with Morgan either.
Watch you swerve us all and have Ben go with neither, just not having a girlfriend at all. Or, better yet, he swoops in and steals Savannah before Dustin can grow the balls to make a move! Plot twist!
It was great to see Ben request that they go by first names from now on, doing so first. That's a small but significant step in putting their rivalry to bed. It's adorable to hear Angie use his first name (Benjamin or Ben, either way) after she's been calling him Carter for so long!
The prospect of Angie scheduling another session with Ben is an exciting one! I'm really curious what that would look like, now that Angie knows his secret. However that pans out, that will definitely be a pivotal moment in how they move forward (because now that you've teased it, you have to do it; you know that, right? RIGHT?!).
And now we wait to see how this conversation goes down with Morgan. You're doing an amazing job of constantly giving us something to draw us deeper into the story!
Author's Response:
Angie was definitely very focused on wanting to know why Ben lied, so she wasn't really thinking much about anything else for sure, it does get brought up again later though! It just wasn't something I could focus on writing out without it becoming the main topic.
Angie has a longstanding tense rivalry relationship with Sabrina, so Ben figured she'd want to know something like that. He's also being honest and open with her so I figured that'd be interesting to add in. :)
I really liked (and struggled with) the idea of both girls with him. I even considered Savannah at some point. It's difficult for us when you have to pick one and not turn it into some kind of harem, isn't it?
I'm glad you're enjoying the conversations inbetween! It won't be too long of a wait until the next shrinking this time around at least.

Date: June 09 2025 8:35 AM Title: Chapter 28 - Wisdom Comes with Winters
Okay, that session with Sabrina went a lot better than I expected it to go!
I was split on whether Sabrina would give Ben a hard time and be a spoiled brat or if she would surprise us with a softer side we wouldn't expect. I really like the way you portrayed her, kind of splitting between the two possibilities and gradually skewing more toward her softening up as the session progressed.
Because, yeah, that shell she hides behind, the product of her privileged upbringing and a family that apparently is just as set on pushing her in a particular direction in life as Angie's are, was very much present when she walked through the door. I actually feel like Sabrina's parents might be even more hardcore than Angie's are, given that Angie at least has that "messy" appearance (still immaculate but effortlessly so, really) while Sabrina has to look perfect all the time it seems.
But yeah, I really like how comparable Angie and Sabrina's situations are. That helped make Sabrina's disdain for Angie make more sense. She's not really mad about Angie taking her spot at that national debate camp, at least not anymore. Whether she admits it or not, she sees a lot of herself in Angie (and is right more than she knows) and hates the fact that she has actual friends and someone like Ben who likes her. Ironically, I think the fact that neither Angie nor Ben ever realized that they were into each other only made that feeling worse for Sabrina.
But yeah, seeing Sabrina almost leave, only to become concerned when Ben fell and sympathetic about his family situation was a really sweet way to turn things around. And her softening rather than mocking after hearing that Ben needs to work for the sake of his family made her come off as a (both literally and figuratively) huge sweetheart! I half-expected her to feel gross that a poor person was touching her hands, but she had just the opposite reaction, which was awesome!
But we still saw some of that brat shine through but in an innocent way. When she started to ask Ben if it was okay to unmask him, already reaching before she even finished the question, it felt dangerous but not hostile, if that makes sense. Like I think that she would have taken his mask off before he ever answered if Kimberly hadn't come in, but Sabrina's curiosity here felt truly innocent and just, well, curious!
Also, the way that she noticed right away how familiar Ben's mannerisms was interesting. She really does watch her opponents closely. Is that her competitive spirit, or does Sabrina secretly want to make this love triangle (that she knows nothing about) into a love rhombus (I don't know if you read Twin Sizes, but this is a reference to that). Also, if you haven't, I highly recommend it!)?
I loved how Sabrina had some sage-like advice of her own after the conversation drifted away from her. Ben's right that it's surprising that someone without real friends can know so much about trust and respect among those closest to each other. This, to me, sounded like she was longing to be in a situation like this, because, even as much as it would hurt, at least she'd be in a place where she had someone close enough to her to actually hurt her. Right now, I don't think she could be in Angie's position, because she doesn't have someone like that in her life at all!
In other words, Sabrina came off as incredibly lonely here to me.
Oh, and I'm so glad you addressed the recommendation thing. That was going to drive me insane! Also, it sounds like Angie has a legit friend on their rival team! That's interesting!
It's awesome and hilarious that Ben wore that shirt for Angie's birthday. This seems like one of those signs that everybody but them notices about how they feel about each other.
And I was surprised that the phone didn't become a detriment during the treatment. And now we're left with the little cliffhanger of wondering who's calling him. Based on what Ben says at the end, I'm guessing (and hoping) it's Angie!
So yeah, I loved this last two chapters, and they were a great palate cleanser after that rough (for Ben) session with Angie. I'm now eagerly awaiting the next chapter so I can see what happens next!
Author's Response:
Glad you enjoyed this little arc with Sabrina! In my original draft, she was a bit more antagonistic and rude, but I still kept some of that in her personality while also making her a bit more likeable and able to relate to Ben and Angie.
This isn't the last we've seen of her either, she'll be back at some point. :)
I definitely remember reading Twin Sizes quite some time ago, I should really catch up on it sometime!

Humm… I will be damned but Sabrina is quite charming in her own terrifying way and quite right about many things. I picked myself agreeing with her in many topics, but the star of this chapter was really Ben who, despite having a long way to go, proves once more to have a knack for the job. Yeah, Sabrina was angry at the end but I am sure the experience was far from what she expected and far from ordinary.
You surprised me once more, I expected Sabrina would be a one note character, a antagonist to move the plot. Glad I was wrong again. Yes, maybe that’s what Angie and Ben can learn from Sabrina and all this ordeal: being grateful for being wrong, for making mistakes – exactly what Sabrina lacks.
As always, thanks for writing and sharing! Stay safe!

Benny's such a doofus XD
Author's Response: It'd be a short story if our Ben made all the right life decisions, wouldn't it? :D

Date: June 07 2025 8:57 AM Title: Chapter 26 - Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Distraction
Well that certainly could have gone worse!
Yeah, Angie's initial reaction was ... less than ideal, but I think the fact that she was more hurt than angry is actually a really good sign. She was embarrassed, yes, but she was embarrassed because it was Ben specifically; she cares what he thinks rather than just feeling angry that someone "tricked' her into revealing intimate details about her life. I have a feeling that, once she processes Ben's words and gains a better understanding of his perspective (probably from the rest of the debate team), that hurt will diminish significantly and she'll hear him out for real.
But man, Ben really didn't help himself a lot here. His nerves made him throw most of that great advice he received out the window, and he even did what Maggie told him not to do and started making it about him! Granted, I think it's really hard to not try and justify your actions, so it makes perfect sense that this was his fallback, but it was kind of painful to watch at the same time!
More importantly, the fact that just one look at giant Angie was enough to make him lose his nerve and forget how to approach things says a lot about how he feels about her, I think. We've seen a lot emotional development between Morgan and Ben over the last several chapters, but his reaction to just seeing Angie with her hair down and in that blue sundress made up a lot of lost ground, so to speak. As much as I'd enjoy seeing Ben and Morgan end up together, I think I ultimately want to see him go with Angie. I don't know if it's that friends to lovers' dynamic or just the way you write these two, but their chemistry just jumps off the page, and we haven't even seen them have a fully honest conversation yet!
But yeah, I can't blame Angie for handling that the way she did. I really wanted her to hear him out and have this scene be longer, but, with their history together and the way their previous session went down, it's easy to see why she would be slow to trust him, even though I think she really wants to. Of course she thinks that his advice in the first session and the way he's been acting around her lately is some sort of elaborate joke! But again, I think she'll start to realize fairly quickly that this initial conclusion doesn't make a lot of sense and give him a shot to better explain himself, even if she'll still be skeptical as she listens.
I thought Sabrina Winters would end up in Ben's chair at some point, but I really didn't think it would be this soon! I'm so intrigued by this and have no idea what to expect. Is she going to be the stuck-up jerk we're expecting her to be after that confrontation with Angie? Or does she have a hidden softer side that will come up and surprise Ben yet again? I could even see things getting a bit hostile or humiliating for Ben. Actually, I could see almost anything happening!
One thing I'm really confident about is that Kimberly accidentally screwed Ben over by leaving his full-sized phone in the room with him. He's not going to be able to use it (at least not properly), but a certain giant girl (who seems like the nosey variety) sure can! This is a big mistake by Kimberly, and I hope she's ready to admit as much if/when Ben has to suffer the consequences for it!
But even more interesting is this mysterious recommendation Sabrina received about the new tiny technician. Who would recommend him? Well, he's only had two clients so far. I would think Morgan would be careful about making recommendations and would definitely let Ben know before making them. But I also can't see Angie even telling Sabrina that she went to Tiny Treatments, let alone recommending a technician for her! Of course, we really don't know a ton about how either of those two really interact with Sabrina other than that fight she had with Angie a couple chapters ago, so it's possible that maybe one of them is closer to her than we currently realize?
Or could it be that Savannah recommended him to Sabrina as a joke (or maybe even as a debate spy)? I could see her doing that and laughing about it.
So the initial confrontation between Ben and Angie was pretty short, but I think that is a pretty organic way for things to have played out. Unless Angie had figured out that it was Ben under that mask before he told her (it sounds like she at least suspected that it might be someone she knew), this was always going to end with her storming out and needing time to come to terms with things. I thought this was handled really well, and I really enjoyed the chapter as a whole!
And hey, at least she didn't flatten him under her palm!
Author's Response:
He got a ton of advice for sure, but it's difficult to put all of that into practice when it's actually happening, I figured that'd be more realistic than all of it going exactly like planned.
You'd think that this confrontation would be longer, but I kept it short exactly because she got angry and wouldn't hear him out (yet), and so I could make room for Sabrina right after. You already predicted that she'd be a client eventually, and that's something I had set up to happen a while ago.
Kimberly definitely did not think that through very well, but she's a busy receptionist!
As for Ben and Angie, this isn't the end of it. There's still more to play around with for their relationship, but for now, we're making some time for Sabrina. :)

Date: June 06 2025 7:11 PM Title: Chapter 26 - Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Distraction
Oh! That’s what you really meant with Winter is coming. Well, you got me there as I was expecting for Ben to get more aquinted with a more reckless side of Angie from the get go once he revealed everything… but it wasn’t everything now, was it? And that is why this fast development works here: Angie still doesn’t know anything about Ben’s situation, so self centered she didn’t realized the boy was deliberately putting himself in harms way for her sake (and I don’t just mean being tiny – he needs that money for his family and all this situation can lead to termination if things get out of hand; it would be a lot easier and maybe even logical from a purely cold and financial point of view to be selfish and just not tell anyone). No. Angie was worried about the humiliation, about losing her ground, about not being weak in front of Benjamin the rival… pathetic. And very good too, since it gives the chance for a flip: now it’s Angie’s turn to learn and see how her close friends are also close to Ben. And how selfish ans spoiled she really is...
I am not gonna try to guess about Sabrina. I am like Ben on this one: let's wait and see kkkkkkkkkkkk. As always, thanks for writing and sharing! Stay safe!
Author's Response:
Haha, you might have had a certain view of Angie that she'd do something physical to Ben once she found out, but she's not that kind of person. She's shocked, and hurt, and confused, and needs some time to think it over.
That's certainly not the end of things though, and for now we switch over to Sabrina's side :)

Date: June 06 2025 2:40 AM Title: Chapter 25 - Tomorrow Comes
It’s hands down incredible how you are managing to be so romantic and down to earth at the same time, in the same chapter even, showing through sheer dialogue the changes, the angst, the fact that there is no easy way out/answer in a real love triangle. What a amazing mother and amazing sister Ben has, all money pales in comparison to this.
I could say Morgan is my favorite after the perfection her interaction with tiny Ben was, with hand-held scenes so full of intention and (dare I say?) lust from Morgan’s end. You were able to surprise me, defusing a situation I thought would spell disaster for their long lasting frienship and budding love in a organic, believable way exactly because of said long friendship and budding love. I could. But I still want Ben and Angie to be together. So so much that I wanted him to come and help her against Sabrina with some clever retort. For him to show Angie how much he truly appreciates her but also how much she also doesn’t know about him. For them to find in each other something that is more important than being right.
And that’s why…... Maggie the sage? Totally missed the point. The problem is not if Mr. Carter is obsessed with ms. Phillips (he clearly is), but if ms. Phillips is EVEN MORE OBSESSED in regards to Mr. Carter kkkkkkkkkkkkkk. And a lot of teasing from our local sage… Yes, I don’t think anyone believes Angie would squish Ben on porpuse, but accidents happen and more so when we are angry or having to much fun – and the worst is not she storming off: It’s she storming off with him.
As always, thanks for writing and sharing. 10 out of 10 story and characters!
Author's Response:
I'm also very fond of Morgan! There might have been points while working on this that she was my favorite of the girls, and it probably shows somewhere when I felt that way.
But then again, I have a weak spot for childhood friend characters in general, and I really wanted a character in the story that was similar to Alice. :)

Date: June 06 2025 1:36 AM Title: Chapter 25 - Tomorrow Comes
It's almost here! The moment of truth for dear Ben! Damn, I'm actually nervous for the guy. But this last chapter before the big moment was pretty interesting in its own right.
Dustin maybe had the most straightforward advice Ben has received throughout this whole story. Ben really should just tell her what happened and why he didn't tell her about it sooner. Just be straightforward and tell the truth. The rest will take care of itself. If he tries to steer Angie's emotions or focus on justifying how things played out, he's going to get into trouble. Enough people have told him that in one way or another that I really hope he takes that advice.
Also, yeah, Dustin is right that knee-jerk reactions don't really reflect people's true feelings, at least not all the time. Angie might need time to process everything, and her emotional response before she gets the chance to might not be the best. Ben needs to be ready for that.
Of course, that's assuming Angie doesn't already know!
I really can't decide if Angie knows or if you're throwing out red herrings to make us think she knows just to fuck with us (which I would respect, honestly!). That conversation between Morgan and Angie seemed suspicious when Ben biked past them, but with Morgan informing Ben that Angie was asking questions about him and his job, not to mention that she was apparently quite interested in those answers, makes me lean even further toward her already knowing or at least being close to figuring it out. But maybe she's just trying to figure Ben out after he stopped a lot of his rivalry-type behavior around her. But even that, Ben being nicer to her right after the mysterious tiny technician advised her to do the same, might have aroused her suspicion.
I have no idea what to expect at the session, but you've done a great job of keeping me guessing!
It was also nice to see Ben's mom weigh in a bit here. Maria had an air of maturity about her (I mean, it's his mom, man), not pushing any advice but being very observant and just encouraging him to be honest. She's right that any relationship that can't survive honesty isn't real anyway. Who wants to spend all their time pretending to be somebody they're not, let alone be with somebody who spends all their time pretending to be somebody they're not!
Oh, and back to Dustin, I had a feeling there was something going on between Savannah and him. It sucks that he doesn't have the confidence to see what's probably pretty obvious if even Ben can see it! I hope Ben can help him out with that and get him to a point where he can have his own high school drama! Ben can't have all the fun, after all!
Man, this was a nice little chapter, just doing the final setup before Angie's big second session. I too really enjoy these conversations between the shrinking events. They're a lot of fun, and they tell us a lot about each character outside of those fun size-y moments!
But yeah, I'm ready to see tiny Ben in front of Angie again!
Author's Response:
I enjoyed taking some time to give Dustin and Maria their own moments! When I was working on the story, I realized at that point that I hadn't really done much with those two in particular yet since I was very focused on everyone else.
It seemed like the right time to get that done before really moving on with the story. And the Dustin subplot is also the reason why Savannah isn't really a salon option for Ben, to be honest. In earlier drafts she was actually going to be part of the fun eventually, but I wanted it to be more realistic and have at least one girl interested in someone else. So now you know, those two have their own little thing going on while Ben gets to have the love triangle, that seems pretty fair. :)
I really enjoy doing these conversations between Ben and everyone too. I actually had to restrain myself at the time to not do even more than this, but I knew that I couldn't stall out the appointment forever either!

Date: June 05 2025 7:42 AM Title: Chapter 24 - Winter is Coming
I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed in Ben for not stepping in when Sabrina was hammering Angie like that. I get his reasons why, but man, some things are important enough that you have to take a risk, and defending a wounded teammate (especially when they're wounded over you specifically) is more important than worrying about making the conversation they're going to have the next day more difficult. That's just me, though.
I love how Ben's friends have all rallied around him over this whole situation. He was so worried about being judged before, but now all the people he really cares about, save Angie (probably) now know his secret, and none of them think any less of him for it or think it's funny. Savannah was intrigued at the thought of Tiny Ben for about five seconds, Dustin zeroed in on the shrinking process instead of Ben himself, and Morgan's feelings for him are clearly at least as strong as they were before she knew the truth. And the fact that all of them support him and have his back as he's about to have this confrontation with Angie (even though it could go well, it's good to know that his friends are ready in case it doesn't).
I do wonder if Sabrina might find her way to Tiny Treatments at some point, and what an appointment with her might be like for Ben if she does. See? This is two reviews in a row where you've got me speculating on potential clients for Ben! This is such an intriguing concept to play with!
I really enjoyed Ben's one-on-one with Morgan, which was really needed. She was so worried about things becoming awkward between them that things were becoming awkward between them. Kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy or something! But Been saying "I love you" might not have been his best choice of words, although he did reconcile that quite nicely and it seemed to calm her down. And it's not like he didn't mean what he said; it's just that those words are typically taken in a romantic context, and he's not ready to go down that road with Morgan. Yet. (Although, again, I could just as easily get into him picking Angie, and hell, that might even be the more interesting choice.)
But I really respect Morgan here. She wants Ben to be honest with her, even if she won't like that honest answer. Again, this seems to be setting Morgan up to be able to withstand Ben choosing Angie, but then again, maybe this is some misdirection on your part? Or it could be that this is just who Morgan is and that's how her character would approach the situation either way. Regardless, I love that she wants the hard truth and will have Ben's back just as long as he gives it to her instead of trying to protect her feelings (which never works, by the way!).
So at the end of the chapter, Ben finally started to realize that Angie's feelings for him are probably just as complicated as his feelings are for her. Him saying that she might be just as scared as he is was the perfect way to end the chapter. This kind of goes back to all that "do you ever feel like you're playing a role" stuff. Angie is the way she is with Ben because she thinks she has to be that way. Ben expects her to be that way, and if she were to open up to him at all, he'd pounce on that weakness (in her mind). Likewise, Ben has been so focused on the "rules" of the rivalry that he's never stopped to think about how different things could be, at least not until now. I loved this introspective from him!
Man, I'm getting really excited about this appointment. I really have no idea what to expect, but I know I'm going to be hooked on every word once the time finally comes!
Author's Response:
Haha, you'd expect him to bravely step in, right? Though I did explain that a bit in this latest chapter, he does have his reasons.
Even though they were all pretty shocked by the news at first, they're still very close friends and they all want him to resolve his business with Angie. I didn't really want the tiny employee part to keep being a big deal for too long (but they do tease him with it here and there). I also didn't want Morgan to become distant or keep false hope, she just wants the truth so she can continue her friendship with Ben even if she doesn't get the answer she hopes for, that's the kind of person she is.
I hope the appointment part will be good enough after all the waiting!

Date: June 04 2025 4:57 AM Title: Chapter 23 - Divine Wisdom
I'm playing catch-up on the last two chapters, so I wanted to start the review of this chapter by talking about the Savannah stuff in the previous chapter for a second.
I was pleasantly surprised to see him take Morgan's advice and trust his friends with his secret. Telling Savannah (and coming soon: Dustin) his secret was a bold move and not one seen often in the "I have a secret" genre, but I really like that he went this route. And it paid off, too! She had some stellar advice for him. Hell, after the initial shock and a quick thought about him being tiny, she really didn't even care about the whole Tiny Treatments thing. She just wanted to help him out with his bigger problems.
Of course, there was that initial reaction. Assuming the Chen family has the same kind of money Morgan and Angie's families have, I could see her scheduling an appointment and requesting Ben as her tiny technician. She would have a blast fucking with him, I think. Innocently, of course, but still, I think she's at least tempted to mess with him at that size at least once. That's not a prediction, though, as I could easily see that not happening. But even as kind and genuine as she is, that bubbly, mischievous streak in her might want to come out and play.
Oh, and the way Sav said that she knows Angie isn't the type of person to let her anger lead to violence against Ben makes me think she knows Angie a lot better than she's letting on. Angie already hinted that she's tighter with Morgan than Ben realized, so I could see Savannah being really tight with her, too. Ben has been too wrapped up in his rivalry to realize that all of his friends are friends with her, too, which probably would have told him something if he had noticed that.
Lastly on the last chapter, I thought you did a great job with the whole sneaky conversation in class thing. Mr. Paulson was a lingering presence throughout the chapter, and I found myself starting to get annoyed with him for having the audacity to try to teach when I'm trying to listen to this super interesting conversation! I loved the way you worked him in at random intervals and kept him suspicious. Awesome job with that!
As for this chapter, man, that first segment was fun!
I love how Savannah got him to engage Angie with that thing about important conversations, then immediately ditched him for "Yearbook Committee" (that's the same energy I was talking about when I said she might schedule an appointment with Ben). I was laughing with her as she walked away there! That was mean in the kindest way possible! I'm really starting to like Sav!
And that talk with Angie was handled very well, I thought. It was awkward, but it's clear that both of them are trying to change the nature of their rivalry. They can't let it go just yet, but they're trying (maybe too hard) to move past it and be cordial with one another. And those little "does she know?" lines are perfect! Much like the last time we saw Angie, I'm really wondering whether or not she's figured things out on her own. And with Ben not following the standard rules for this kind of thing in fiction (namely telling people his secret without being forced to), I really feel like anything's possible at this point!
Also, I have to ask, is Maggie in school? She's 17, if I remember right, so how could she work the morning shift at McDonalds if it was a school day? That one threw me off a little bit.
Maggie teasing Ben will never not be fun to read! I l loved her excitement when she guessed that Ben had been stepped up, and his reaction to that was perfect.
But even besides that, Maggie knowing that Morgan loved Ben and that Ben is into Angie is interesting. I get that Ben didn't know any of that, but seeing her so in tune with her brother's life shows how close these two siblings really are!
This is instantly one of my favorite pieces of dialogue I have ever read:
"So how do I tell Angie the truth without getting squished or humiliated?"
I love how "squished" and "humiliated" are mentioned in equal measure here! Fucking hilarious! Also, both legitimate concerns, unless Savannah is to be believed!
And wow, Savannah had some good advice, but Maggie ... well, she should teach a fucking class on confessions and apologies. Ben was right, she's way too smart for McDonalds!
I hadn't even considered the professional environment thing. Maggie is entirely right here. Despite the size difference, Tiny Treatments is probably the safest place for him to tell Angie the truth, even at three inches tall. Not that I expect Angie to get physical (or if she does, only very slightly), but if something were to happen, he's got that panic button that was introduced to the story and has yet to be used (Chekov's gun and all!).
And that whole "victim of her potential reaction, not the perpetrator of your original deception" thing is fucking genius! Actually all of Maggie's advice is designed to make the conversation all about Angie's feelings and not at all about why Ben did what he did. And honestly, unless she asks, he probably shouldn't tell her why. Like Maggie said, all that does is make it all about him. Explaining makes it feel like he's just doing this to keep her from getting pissed before she finds out later on her own. Very clever, Maggie!
Also, I don't know why, but when she pointed that chip at Ben to make her point, I found that adorable!
So it looks like we might get to see Morgan's English presentation that she's so stressed about and hear fun "theories" on what's been up with Ben from Dustin. Actually, it would be funny as fuck if Dustin's theory was that Ben was working at Tiny Treatments. Like Ben is expecting this far-fetched story, and then Dustin comes in and clocks it perfectly! I doubt that's what will happen, but man that would hilarious.
But yeah, I'm really intrigued to see Ben and Morgan interact again. He's really stressing out about it, so that should ensure that everything is nice and super awkward! I wonder if Morgan feels the same way or if she's excited to see him now that everything is out there.
Finally, Ben is really convinced that Angie is going to be furious when she finds out the truth, which makes me think that's not how it's going to go down. I'm still of the opinion that she figured it out and won't be surprised at all when he reveals himself to her. She might even appreciate the fact that he did it himself instead of her having to call him out. I could be way off here, but just with all the prep everyone is giving him to avoid her being angry and to not stress because even angry she wouldn't hurt him and even Ben's own thoughts implying that she's going to squish him like a bug once she finds out, I think her reaction is going to be something other than that.
I'm loving the slow burn here and all this buildup continues to be great! It seems like we've got another chapter or two before the big appointment, so we're getting close to the BIG reveal. I'm getting excited for it!
Author's Response:
About the secret. I feel like if Ben kept things a secret for too long from his friends, then it would be harder to write around it as he has to keep being mysterious, which also limits interactions when the entire story is focused around the fact that Ben works at a shrinking salon, so I felt like it was a good time to get them up to speed so they could pitch in and help their friend out. It made more sense to me that Angie would be the very last one to actually find out, instead of the other way around.
Angie is of course a part of the friends group, and she's always been on good terms with everyone except Ben, kind of. So it makes sense that they know her a bit better in some ways than he does.
I thought up Savannah as the one girl that isn't involved in any dramatic shenanigans, which means she's the fun-loving outlier of the group, and I think she came out pretty enjoyable even if she has no romantic attachment to Ben. (didn't want to create one of those stories where every single girl is into the MC) you can expect a short little subplot with her too.
Honestly good question on the Maggie thing. She is still in school! But I never went into detail on how she worked out with the school that she can work in the morning on some days and catch up on homework later. That's a bit of an oversight on my part, since she's a part-time workaholic working to support her mom, but I failed to bring her school days into play on top of that. I should probably add something to that so it makes sense.
Either Ben will be completely right, or completely wrong, but he does know Angie pretty well debate-wise to know how she'd react!
Glad the slow burn is still alright for you. I'm trying to get to the appointment in time without compromising the pace of the story too much, but it's on the way. Probably on Friday or so. :)
Date: June 03 2025 3:16 PM Title: Chapter 23 - Divine Wisdom
I found Stuck in Park delicate and with realistically well-placed interactions, without exaggerations or exasperations that I usually find in other stories. Both in the previous one and in this one, you manage to make the possibility of shrinking seem plausible, since is a slice of life, and each of your characters is well characterized, not the classic piece of meat that must prove to be an idiot, or a subservient to mono-neuron giantesses who only think about dominating or having sex with skyscrapers or clusters of tinies. I will continue to follow each chapter and I cannot wait to read your next story.
Author's Response:
That's really nice to hear, thank you!
I'm a big fan of realistic slice of life stories on here that take their time to explore character relationships and growth, and I enjoy doing that as well with my own stories.
Of course, there are going to be people that come here just for the immediate action, so that's unfortunately not something I can provide myself, but I'm glad there's also plenty of people that enjoy some slower pace stuff. :)
