That certainly seems like the expected trajectory for this story, doesn't it? The truth is that I don't actually know since I never wrote the ending. The biggest problem with my writing is that I suck at endings, which has led me to a backlog of unfinished stories. I'm hoping that posting some of them will lead to a bit of a desire to finish.
