I'm a completely shameless self-harming sado-masochist. Stories are almost guaranteed to have a giant character inflict human-like torture (being impaled, cut, or maimed, deprived contact, watching others die) in addition to standard giantess fare like being crushed or vore.
Sam and her childhood friend Nick are trapped in a world where there are small people who are treated as bugs for the amusement of others.
If you introduced two new characters just to have them killed off I'm going to be PISSED.
The sad part is that Sam and Nick hadn't really left an impact on this universe. So he taught three people that killing buggies is just like killing one of their own and that buggies are every bit as sapient as a giant. In the end that doesn't mean anything, the people would still mercilessly slaughter the buggies. Sure, there will be three less giants doing it, possibly even trying to speak out against the injustice, but chances are they'll just be written off as some of the "crazies" and have their valid points disregarded.

Author's Response: Sorry you felt that way. It really was intended to be a reasonably short story and I'd hoped the event of the previous chapter would make it feel like things were building up to a conclusion.

Author's Response: I don't think it really comes up in the story, but my intention was that Caitlin's father was not sexually abusive.
I can't wait for Caitlin to explain what rape is. I might sound like a bad person for saying this, but I kind of hope Caitlin's relationship was only physical abuse and not...sexual.
So, how big are the fairies?
Mivera is about as long as Caitlin's hand from fingertip to heel.

When she said sweetwater, I thought she meant hummingbird nectar (that red stuff from a hummingbird feeder, as far as I know it's just sugar water) but is sweetwater to them just purified water in general?

Yes, it's just pure water. On your other comment, I'm sorry if you thought it was anticlimactic. The reason it was just an accident with the queen is that the younger Caitlin wasn't particularly insane, but I think you'll see in the next couple chapters that what she does now to fairies is both intentional and almost purely for her personal enjoyment at seeing them suffer.
