Kind of a fun chapter and I certainly like to see them get along somewhat.

I admire your courage. I tried and failed to do a rewrite. I’ll never attempt it again. I like the quote: "Write the book you want to read." I simply don’t want to reread any of my old stuff. :)

As for the world, Jessica’s humble abode is a place of amazement. How did she ever get a stove and utensils of such size? Surely they must look somewhat different than what Jack’s used to seeing because she’s the only person of her size in the world. Even with military support, manufacturing such conveniences must have been tremendous feats of engineering. I wonder if she helped the teams of people install it. Probably.

Author's Response:

I think my old stuff deserves to be done in a better way, especially with a personal favourite in Escape and the model I based Jessica off, it should not be done so poorly plus I kind of owe it to the readers, I never did finish Aftermath but the redo of Aftermath will be a lot better in terms of character development and plot, something I never really though about the first time.

All those are secrets that will be explained and revealed in later chapters, I have it all planned and it'll be better than the last one.

Ahh... the English and their massive sense of decorum. Probably why they lost in The American Revolution to farmers.

Fuschia pink luggage... ha! I do like the way he feels like she is purposefully trying to pester him. He should have known shit can happen at seas... but considering Jessica's looks? I would trade places with him.

Author's Response:

I always chalked that up to French aid and also that British arrogance they once possessed.

Pink is actually a favourite colour of mine to be honest so I threw that one in. I would definitely trade places with Jack if he didn't want to be with Jessica, she'd be a blast to hang out with.

ah finally another chapter. It's nice that you keep the pace of the relationship/character development slow this time, and not rush it like last. Also, is that a hint of doubt I see playing into jack's words? :)

Author's Response:

Yeah, another problem I had with the original was that I rushed it. As for Jack, you know he has a plan to escape from Jessica and all I can say is that you'll find out in a few chapters whether or not those doubts work.

I definitely love the slower pace you have going on here! Their relationship is taking time to grow...I kind of find it odd that you decided to keep Catelyn as part of this rewrite, I mean your re-writting both this AND Aftermath right?

And that character was always something you had gripes about in the original, it just seemed like a good opportunity not to have the character in...

Author's Response:

Thank you, I am intending to slow the pace down, give it room to develop and grow the story as a whole, let the reader bond with the characters. You're right in that Aftermath is getting redone as well and Caitlin has a part to play, don't you worry too much because when you see her, you'll understand. She'll play the role she was intended to, the one I planned for her but screwed up badly.

I could have left her out but like I said above, its too much of an opportunity to pass up. I hope to keep you interested and also to attract new fans.

I hope the next chapter is long.
It's taken 3 weeks already :P

Author's Response:

Give me time, good things come to those who wait. Plus I have school and stuff to deal with. I'll see if I can get it out this weekend. If it comes out earlier then good.

Flashbacks are always tough but frequently necessary. I liked how you made them more engaging by including interruptions. The playful banter between Jack and Jessica helped keep me interested. I would have liked a little more information on the accident with Jamie (boy or girl?). Clearly Jessica doesn't want to remember the incident. Maybe it will come up later. It would help to understand her personality better, and perhap her reason for being so cautions around those smaller than her.

Author's Response:

I wanted Jack and Jessica to have more distinct personalities so that was thrown in.

Jamie is a tough one, Jessica's interactions with that person were not a happy memory. I'll get to it. It'll be a better story than its predecessors.

Wow, another great chapter. I love how you remade her life story, not so different, but still a little bit so that its more interesting. Thanks for the update :) They're good.

Author's Response:

Thanks, you'll see traces of the original here and there but gradually it'll become a series that stands out from it.

Sarcastic Jess is starting to grow on me...Im liking where things are headed, is Jack really that afraid of the girl to try an escape attempt? And im wondering if Jess would even care, I mean it isnt like they are all buddy buddy.

Author's Response:

Glad you like her and as for your questions, you'll have to wait and see .

I like the character development a lot more than the old one. Love to see how it turns out! Oh, and please work on the aftermath, it's just SOOO GOOD!!!

Author's Response:

Thanks for liking the changes. Stick around and enjoy the rest of it, I've planned the whole of The Escape Redux and the redo of Aftermath because when the former ends, the ending will be very different from the original.

So Jack's a douche and Jessica's a smartass. Well they certainly have more personality than in the original story!

Author's Response:

That is what I am going for, more personality. If you don't like them then all I can say is that there will be things called character development and changes as they experience things. Whether its good changes or bad we'll see.

Not gonna lie im not too keen on rewrites, BFG took me a bit of self convincing for nostalgia's sake...But Ill give this a shot too, as long as things arent too similar to the original you'll grab me aboard again. So far Im surprised by how much of a dick Jack comes across as...I dont really remember if that happened in the original or not...

Although I dont blame him for being scared and trying to bribe Jessica to let him go, If I wasnt a gts lover id prolly be scared shitless myself.

Author's Response:

I'm doing this to correct the loopholes present in the original and also to improve the quality of the writing. I promise you that by the end of this one, which I've planned out all the way will see our characters head down a different path. Hopefully you grow to love it like BFG did for you. As for Jack's behaviour, he wasn't like this in the original and this is me adding conflict and also a unique personality, he was kind of bland of in the old one. Same for Jessica, she'll be more developed here. Seeing a giantess would scare anyone for the first time so I can excuse that one.

Thanks for the review, its great to see one of my regular reviewers comment here!

Yea, uh, there is a j missing in that first word?

Me and Nostory, plus a third author are working on something, it won't disappoint. Nostory don't say who it is!

Author's Response:

I'll edit it, I kind of just copied and pasted it from Google Docs.  Thanks for pointing it out.

I like it. It sounds like it's going to get sexy.

Author's Response:

Jessica is a sexy girl, things will be fun.
