Second the motion Nostory, I like how you steered the plot back into main character development waters, take your time there, the better the characters get to know each other's ups and downs the longer the story can remain interesting.

I own none of this. I simply saw an open ended story and story and decided to lengthen it. Everything from chapter 3 on is my own work. The first three are from Dkayle11.
The thing about this scenario is if the author isn't responding and hasn't touched it in over a year it's good as gone, if someone wants to build on it I would try to get a reply from the author, if they don't respond I'd work the envelope to avoid plagiarism by writing a "sequel" and not copy/paste the original story, you just describe that this builds on x story, face it folks, when an author abandons a good story, it sucks, and the emptiness left may inspire some to take up the pen and build on it, this is one of the highest honors an author can get.

Thanks! I've still been writing on-and-off this past year, but hardware issues, other hobbies, and RL obligations ate into my writing commitments. Hopefully I can get more steady with writing this point on.
And Earth's Cry has always been on my mind and I do intend to return to it, hopefully sooner than later. I've just been working with other scenarios in the meantime.

Set in the same world as my other stories The Masks of Gods and The Sons of Men, this story follows several different characters set in the American plains/south. Set nearly six years after the giants first arrive on earth, In the Shadow of the World revolves around the day to day struggles of both giants and humans alike. A pragmatic but ultimately troubled giantess named Keirsien must learn to cope with both the physical and psychological stress of this strange new world. Meanwhile, a roguish drifter named Sharpe must put aside his selfish ways to save his new family. Saryl, a paranoid giantess with a haunted past, is forced to make some unconventional allies all while the anxiety addled Loyolla is forced to join a violent gang of criminals. This story is chock-full of plot and I'm hoping to reignite interest in this world. The point of view will switch around a good bit and I'm going to experiment with narration so at times it may implement some stream of consciousness. Anyway I hope you all enjoy! If you are curious about the lore you can always check out my other two stories if you haven't already!
