Summary:

This is the story of Kelly, Casey and Lisa 6 years after the events on Side Effects Volume 1.

Our three protagonists' lives have changed a lot after the events of Henford. The three have gone their own ways, but fate will bring them together again as their past comes back to them.

Volume 2 will have quite more "giantess in the city" action than Volume 1, although it still tries to focus on the difference in character between the three protagonists and how this will determine their actions.

Note: The story is complete. However, I'm reposting some of the chapters at the end of the story, including some illustrations I commissioned from SorenZer0 with them. I hope you enjoy them.

Great episode. Shows how Kelly really feels power over the people but also feels she doesn't need to needlessly kill like Casey. It was interesting to see her getting into the "game". I wonder what caseys game will be. Still wondering how they think Lisa can stop these girls. Missed the update last week but definitely delivered this week.

Kelly really enjoyes her power, but she is not cruel like Casey is. At the moment, Kelly is a little bit puzzled by the situation, but once she gets into using her power to have fun, she lets herself go a little. Casey's attitude will be quite different, as you probably already imagined. As for Lisa: she doesn't know what she will do to stop Kelly and Casey; she just knows she needs to do it, since it's what her conscience tells her to do.

I could not post the update last week. I was travelling and swamped with work. I'm glad that you enjoyed the one this week. Hopefully it compensated :)

OK I'm not writing this to complain you don't have the third story yet I'm just writing this to write. I understand it will be awhile before vol 3 gets released.but I think I miss the Saturday updates for your stories. Just like any of my favorite tv shows when a season ends. Lol. Loved the deviant art commish and would be excited to see what the other girls look like. Soren0 is pretty talented. I like a lot of his stuff. If/when you post vol3 I'll be the just like I was for first two (although I think I found the first one after you finished it)

Well, I'm happy that you felt like writing. I was checking the account after a few days (I do it from time to time... I confess that I check the views of the stories), and seeing a new comment was definitely very welcome.

I think it's safe to say now that Volume 3 will be released at some point. I have progressed quite a lot and managed to write drafts for a few chapters over the last couple or three weeks, and now I have line of sight for the complete story. I need to produce drafts for 3-4 more chapters to have a first complete draft of the story. And then, I will start with the process of re-reading and re-ordering and re-writing some parts. As I progressed, I already have some ideas in mind on how to make some changes to some of the first chapters. But the overall story, the pace and its ending are already clear in my head, so unless I suffer a really big lack of inspiration, it will be done.

Now... my objective is to complete the draft of the story in June. And I will basically be computer-less in July (a quite appealing idea, I must say...). If my inspiration is good enough, I may have something decent enough to start publishing it at some point in August. If I'm a little less inspired, it could be September.

The truth is that I had originally expected Volume 3 to be shorter than Volume 2. To start with, Volume 2 is quite long, and it had quite a lot of character development. Besides, Kelly's size in Volume 3 is harder for me to write, since I tend to like her 250 feet size more. In the end, it's quite likely that Volume 3 turns out to be a little longer. And while I still have quite a lot of work to do for it to have the right quality, I start to believe that it will be a good ending of the trilogy.

I need to thank you once again for your regular and very encouraging feedback. The combination of the praise (everyone likes it, no matter what some may say :P) and the constructive feedback on the development of the story has always been great. And you can be sure that it's because of your feedback and that of a few other people that have been regularly reviewing the story that I was encouraged to go ahead with Volume 3.

So, thank you.

Finally: I like a lot SorenZer0's art and I already ordered a few more pics of Kelly to him. I also plan on commissioning Lisa and Casey to be modelled, so that I can later on commission a few scenes with them too. It will be done, eventually... in the end, it's a matter of when to put the money for this.

Well I am definitely glad you warned us ahead of time about the last chapter. I would have been like whhhaaaa!??!?!! But still it will be a good set up to volume 3. Good story I really hope you do keep at it. love the deviant art pic btw. I think this series was really the only thing going on that kept my interest on this site. I'll definitely be checking in from time to time to see if you updated :)

Well, thanks again for your positive feedback. As you know, this is what encourages me to write. You have been one of the most regular reviewers of the story so you can be sure that if Volume 3 ever gets done, it will be, in part, thanks to you.

I knew that some people would be surprised by the sudden ending this week; that's why I took the opportunity to warn those of you that have been posting reviews regularly. I had doubts on whether to merge the epilogue and Chapter 23 or not, but I decided against it. Chapter 23 was very self-conained by itself, and the epilogue had a different mission, which was to set the stage for Volume 3. Still, I knew that if I did not let people know about the fact that the storyline will continue many would feel the ending was too abrupt.

I'm glad that you like the DA pic. SorenZer0 is a very talented artist; he has been amongst my favority for a long time and I took the chance that he had opened a Patreon account to commission the character design and render to him. I plan on commissioning some more. SorenZer0 is great at doing giantess in the city scenes and I have plenty of ideas on scenes I would like him doing, so the limit on the quantity/speed will be budget (which is always best as a restriction than just lack of options :).

Was Kelly how you imagined her? I need to commission the characters of Lisa and Casey and I'd like to know the opinion from someone that should have a very clear picture in mind of Kelly.

OK I'm not even sure I'm allowed to make comments in the review section. I've treated your "spoilers" just like the star wars episode 7 trailer. I've looked at each word thought about what you could have meant. Thought about what you wanted us to think about it. I really do hope you get to chapter 3 as these are my favorite stories on this site.

So I've been thinking about the "epilogue" chapter. Wondering if you were gonna leave us with this goddess Kelly, Lisa and Casey as enforces while most of the world has come to accept the new leadership there is an underground resistance still working to fix the shrink formula.... Ahh I cant wait. Thanks for the great stories. I've looked forward to these just like I looked forward to the weekly walking dead shows. Hope to hear from you soon.

I'm happy that you have this story in such a high consideration. I was reasonably satisfied with Side Effects when I wrote it, which was the reason I decided to post a story in a public site for the first time, but I was not expecting such great feedback from some of the readers. I need to say that I'm even a little overwhelmed :)

There is nothing that could encourage me most to write Volume 3 than the regular and very positive feedback that some readers like you have been providing. So, I will do my best to have it done and to make it good enough to be published. And, at the same time, there are other stories I have in mind. So, don't worry, you will hear from me soon. I hope that you will continue enjoying what I write and that you will continue reviewing.

Great frickin chapter. I hope we get a chapter of Kelly as the goddess next week. This was a great chapter. Kelly is now an unstoppable goddess. **** SPOILER FOR CHAPTER 24! IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE SUSPENSE, DON'T READ!!! ****

Well, I'm afraid that in order to see what Kelly does as a Goddess or what Casey and Lisa do while Kelly deals with the military... you will need to wait for Side Effects Volume 3. I don't typically anticipate what is going to happen, but we have almost reached the end of the journey for Volume 2 and you have been a great support with your comments and your encouragement over the last months, so I feel like I owe it to you :). Next week's chapter will be the last one and it will "just" be an epilogue for the story, shorter than usual. It will close a couple of loose strings and set the scenario for the next story.

As with Volume 1, I did not want to have a story that would go on forever. I don't like posting a story if I don't know that I will be able to complete it. So, before I posted Volume 2, I made sure that I drafted a complete story that ended at some point and that could be considered self-contained. This point will be the one in the epilogue next week. Differently from Volume 1, though, the girls are not going to be reduced at the end of the story... which means that Volume 3, if it ever exists, will take it from the place Volume 2 finished.

My intention is to write Volume 3. But I won't be able to promise anything before I have a draft that I feel happy with. It would not be the first time I get stuck while writing a story and, again, I won't post anything I'm not able to complete. Right now I have an outline already drafted and have written the first few chapters (what is probably around a third of the story), so I'm reasonably optimistic. In any case, it will be a while before I will have anything ready to post.

Having said this, I will greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions regarding where you see this series going.

Ok so now we see if Kelley can get bigger. The you can't stay like this line with Kelley saying Ron is right is making it so hard to wait for next week. Is kelly gonna be able to get bigger (oh god I hope so haha)? Will she be able to put Lisa and casey in their place? What can the humans do if she gets bigger? They really can't even stop the girls at this size! As always can't wait for next update!

Good chapter. A little short but def needed. No we see what happens when they have to pick sides. Are u gonna post another chapter or is this the chapter for the week? Can't wait to see where it goes from here!!

Well, this chapter came out a little shorter than usual (still >2000 words, but I guess that I'm used to writing quite longer chapters that that...), but we've reached a point where I wanted the plot and the necessary cliffhangers to determine the action and the length of the chapters. The next couple of chapters are going to be longer and packed with a lot of action. Things are getting to their conclusion, so action will practically not stop from now until the end.

I missed the update last week (I was travelling for work again...), but I'm afraid that this is this week's update. I should be able to post the next chapter next weekend, as usual. And one never knows what can happen, but I think that I should be able to keep the regular weekly updates from now until the end of the story.

I hope that "where it goes" won't disappoint!

Looks like everything is getting set up to maybe make girls bigger? I've been wondering about that for a little bit but I think this chapter confirms that. I actually figured they would have to make Lisa that big to stop Casey. I think Kelly really is the wildcard here. I love that she's not "evil" but wants to use her power and size. Good set up chapter. Looking forward to the next few. Should be fun!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that you liked the chapter. As you mentioned, it was meant to be a set up for what's coming next. Volume 2 is heading towards its conclusion, but there are still a few chapters and quite a lot of action left!

The scientists at the FSD did not make Lisa bigger because of two reasons. First and most important, because they did not know how to. They gave Lisa exactly the same chemicals they had administered to Kelly and Casey in the past, so the effects of unlocking the growth in her were identical. Second: they really did not mean for Lisa to save the city. They just wanted her to understand more about how the growth worked and potentially find a way to reverse it. It was Lisa's call to head to Hollner to try to stop Casey.

As for what will happen... your hypothesis definitely seem sound... but as usual, I won't reveal in which direction the story will evolve. I believe that there will be at least one thing (potentially a couple) that will be somewhat surprising. You'll tell me in a few weeks!

Ahhh love where this is going? What is Kelly gonna do?! Who is gonna win the fight between Lisa and Casey? What effect will the gas have on them?! I'm really glad and surprised Lisa can still hold her own against Casey. Seems like Casey is stronger but Lisa is catching her off guard. I've got a strange suspicion that there is going to be a BIG (see what I did there?) Plot twist. Can't wait for next chapter!

Thanks! Just let me tell you that wherever it is going, it is going to get there fast. I know the last couple of three chapters had been kind of slow, from the point of view of the plot moving forward, but the time for slow progress is over. The next couple of chapters are going to reveal all the surprises I had in stock for this story. I hope that you'll like where it goes.

As for the specifics: Casey is clearly stronger than Lisa. After all, she has learned to fight in her 6 years in a maximum security prison, while Lisa has recently been a mom and was working as a kinder garden teacher. But Lisa can still hold her own. Part of it was her old training in martial arts, another (more important) part is survival instinct and finally, there is the very important contribution of her physical enhancement. Like Casey (and Kelly), Lisa is not only bigger, but she is also stronger than she should be for her size. Of course, her opponent is also stronger, but in the end, their increase strength makes them last quite more than they should in a fight.

As for the effect of the gas... well, next chapter will be posted next Saturday :)

This chapter needed to happen lol. How could these girla just run around freely. Now even Kelly is getting more aggressive. Her and casey team up to take on military? I don't see the military winning. Of course last resort is independance day nuking maybe? What about Lisa? This is like a great weekly TV show. At the end you already can't wait for next week. I can't give story enough props. Love it

Yes, it needed to happen. Sooner or later Kelly and Casey had to face some sort of resistance. The fact that they had both showed up by surprise had given them some time of roaming around uncontested, but it was to be expected that the little people would eventually fight back in an organized way.

Of course, things will change from now on. They need to change. Casey's attitude will pretty much be the same, but Kelly had not expected what happened. Still, the fact that she has teamed up with Casey is purely tactical. You'll see how things evolve in the coming chapters. The military will have some tough choices to make...

As for Lisa... she will be back soon.

It will be interesting to see where everything goes from here. What will the girls be like when they meet up this time? What (if anything) can stop them? First of all, thank you very much for the praise to the series. I'm happy that you are enjoying it so much. I hope that the rest won't disappoint you and that by the end of Volume 2 you will keep the same opinion about Side Effects.

I'm planning to keep posting a chapter per week, as I've been doing. The story is written already, but I proofread and edit each chapter before posting. Since chapters are rather long, I can normally handle one per week. The coming couple of months are going to be busy on my side, but I'll try to keep the same cadence.

You won't need to wait too long to see what will happen when the girls meet again. Of course, things will be different than in Volume 1. As for what can stop them (if anything)... you'll need to wait a little more to see where the story is going. There are still a couple of twists in the plot; I believe that you'll especially like the last one...

Please, keep letting me know what you think. I'm still going on through possibilities about Volume 3, so feedback is always welcome and helpful.

I'm happy to see that you are enjoying it.

The purpose of leaving 6 years between the first and second parts was to allow enough room for the characters to evolved based on the events of part 1 but also on what happened to them after those events. I knew I wanted to do a "giantess in the city" story with the characters, but it did not seem natural to force that in the timeline of Part 1 (Kelly was still wavering and while Casey would have probably gone for it, I wanted to introduce enough reasons for her to be even bitchier than she was in Part 1).

I hope that I will be able to keep the right balanace between the giantess in the city story and still being able to make the difference in characters relevant. You'll tell me if I got it!

Summary:

This is the third and last part of the Side Effects trilogy.

Volume 3 takes over right after the end of Volume 2.

After having been reduced at the end of Volume 1, Kelly, Lisa and Casey are giant again in Volume 2, this time in a big city. They are all 250' tall, but Kelly has known for some time what's the force behind their growth. Fearing that her plans of using her size to rule and have fun are threatened by her former friends, Kelly will make herself much bigger than them and lets them know that she will be the one in charge from now onwards. She is tired of Lisa's naiveté and Casey's mindless violence.

At the end of Volume 2, Kelly uses her newfound size to defeat an army attempt at her and destroy the research center that could threaten her power. Once she is done, she sets on a quest to take over the world. This is what she will try to do in Volume 3.

Left behind, Casey will set herself on a mission to become as big as Kelly, to be the one on top again. In the meantime, Lisa will try her best to stop her former friends and protect her family.

Ahh you skipped the meat of this chapter! Lol leaving some to the imagine I see. Haha. Interesting how she met with Lisa, gotta be careful not to hurt her too bad or she will grow too! Still Kelly is seeing that Lisa and Casey are problems still. How will she deal with them? The government has already had some ridiculous casualties. How many people are still willing to try and fight? Keep it coming and keep up the great work!

The review section here is starting to get unbearable. I'll still keep reviewing because I like the story, but I used to read the reviews to see what others thought and see where some constructive criticism might be (and there still is a decent amount of that, but the few spoil it for the whole). /rant

This was an interesting chapter. We got a peak of how the world is preparing to deal with the girls and a little more insight on what is going on in our own government. They think they know what can stop the girls, but can they effectively do what they need to do? Is the next chapter going to jump to casey or stay with the current situation? Maybe find out what happened to Lisa?

This chapter was long overdue and I know it has created frustration in some readers that it did not come before. The 7 remaining chapters of the story will answer your questions about what was laid out in here ;)

As for the coming chapter: it will be another mixed chapter. It will mostly focus on Casey, but you'll also find out more about what happened to Lisa.

I'm travelling, but I hope I will be able to post it over the weekend in any case.

Yes! It was a challenging weekend, but finally I managed to post it. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. There was quite a lot of story building in this one, since there were some storylines that had been craving for attention for a while. But still, the set up allowed for quite some action to be included, so I'm happy that the chapter could be fun as well.

The story is heading towards its conclusion (it will be a long conclusion, though). I'd say that the next chapter will probably be the last of the second act and will open it up for the third and final act, which will be VERY packed with action (and, of course, the plot conclusion, where I think there are still some surprises to be had)...

Chapters like these are my guilty pleasure. I love stories that can mix up these chapters in with a decent story. Interesting to see Kevin is still alive. Did they finally find a solution to get the girls small? Are all the girls gonna go back to being small? (I would mind if one of them stayed big ;) )

2 miles tall is too big! Hopefully this serum will shirnk her "down" to a more managable 1200ft tall or something. I think having her shrink down to normal would make me sad lol. Only a little left! Great story!

So interesting seeing people react when they meet Lisa. Her intentions are verybgood, but the people are still terrified (although they are warming up). What happens when she finds Kelly? I was honestly expecting a Casey chapter here, but I'm glad we got this one.

Well, I'm glad that you liked this chapter too. Next week it will be Kelly again, and the next one will be Casey's turn.

It's fun to write about how people react to Lisa and about how she takes those reactions. She is so different in this aspect to the other two girls! As for what happens when she finds Kelly? Well, you'll get it in full detail, but it will still be a few weeks I'm afraid. There are other things that need to happen first!
