Julian always was a compelling character, with that attitude. But Josh has been growing toward a badass. He started out smart, and he's been quickly learning to keep his cool and think on his feet. It'll be interesting to see what kind of person he becomes now that he's face to face with them. How charming he becomes, is one possibility.

One thing that doesn't seem to have occurred to him: Faith can't kill and replace him for a month.

The true crucible of mettle will be put to the test for Josh. We've seen Carver collapse under the pressure. It not that Faith can't kill him just that she can't replace him for a month if she does. We shall see...

Faith rolled her eyes, “I know,” she said.

“I don’t know why you keep them around for days at a time, that’s just stupid,” Julie remarked.

“What I do is my business,” Faith said. “Don’t you have somewhere else to go or was the whole point of your trip up the stairs to pester me?”

Shaking her head, Julie climbed the last two stairs and pushed by the other two girls. “I’m going to my room, see if maybe there is something hiding there,” she stated, grin at the corner of her mouth.

Now we find out what this means I'm also wondering if they'll take the guy back to screw with Julie, or if Julie shows up and offers a counterproposal.

We have only gotten a glimpse of Julies affinity for brutality though more will be revealed in the next handful of chapters both through direct observation as well as anecdotally. There a few different ways for this this to unfold :)

This is becoming a deconstruction of heroism. Josh is doing what would normally be the heroic thing, rescuing people and trying to help everyone escape, but Julian seems to have a more realistic grasp of the situation. They have no way to be restored right now without the girls, and so if they did escape, what would they do? Right now, Julian has a point about trying to enjoy the situation. This could, however, turn right around if Josh does find a way to escape.

The inversion of traditional archetypes invites opportuntiy to exploore disparate morality given the nature of the situation and how the antecedent/behavior/consequence model is no longer abiding by the same parameters. Julilan is my pragmatist, while Josh is the idealist amnd Carver is struggling to define his role. Julian talks a big game but as a relaist he knows that there is a chasm between fantasy and the reality. We'll see how this continues to evolve with the introduction of another personality.

I think you've got something good here. Some things to talk about:

1) Hester and Scott's growing relationship

2) Hester still needs to figure out what Scott made. Will she shrink more people? Will she make a growth potion?

3) What will Asha do now that she knows that Hester's thing blocks her powers? Will she go to Hester and try to figure out what's going on?

4) Could we have some flashbacks showing Asha using her powers?
