Carmen was a terrifying bully, making Samantha and Kyle's lives hell all through high school. After one final act of revenge, costing her a prestigious scholarship, the two forgot about their old tormentor, moving on and finding their own success in life... that is until they find themselves needing the healing touch of a Valkyrie, and find themselves at the mercy of their old enemy... Is she still carrying a grudge? Oh yeah.

A shrinking story about a tiny couple at the mercy of their old bully, this one will be darker and more serious than my other works, but I think my usual readers will still be happy with it.

Loving this so far. Carmen got what she deserved in high school and it'll be satisfying watching her (presumably) reach that conclusion at some point. Seems like she probably genuinely liked Kyle and Samantha, but massively misunderstood the affect her actions were having on them. 

They sure weren't too picky about who got to become a Valkyrie, but given how rare the genes are it makes sense. It's almost certainly been a massive net positive overall, even considering any who have gone rogue. I do wonder how they're able to operate with such minimal supervision, given their ridiculous power.

During the beginning they couldn't really afford to be picky, they're a little pickier in the "modern" part of the story so it's up to you if they'd have still taken Carmen, obviously she's had some eyes on her for some time.

As for Carmen herself yeah she hasn't quite reached the conclusion that she was in fact that asshole, but hopefully we'll get there.

The juxtaposition between Carmen backing up the nerds in the meeting and how she treats them later in the chapter is interesting. She doesn't understand that when they say 'no' to her, it's just as earnest as the 'no' they gave to Richard. She thinks about them completely differently. 

It totally makes sense why Melinda took risks with who she allowed to get the gene therapy. Being around situations like the Seacourts on a regular basis would make almost anybody want to help if they could. Really sucks about her husband as well, it would be devastating to walk away unscathed from an accident that took a loved one. I think I'd carry a lot of survivor's guilt if something like that happened to me, even though I know it's irrational.

Carmen is struggling with some different feelings towards our other protags, in some ways she's grown since she last saw them, in other ways she hasn't, or hasn't enough. Melinda was stuck in a difficult position at the beginning of the gene therapy, obviously most people would not want someone like Carmen having superpowers, on the other hand the number of sad stories that can be prevented makes it difficult to turn anyone down, particularly early on when they didn't have as many. Melinda carries a lot of guilt for a lot of things that happened, even with healing powers and all that strength sometimes tragedy still strikes.

Fun story, Shelby and Miriel are real goofballs. Tyrael too, with how she tried to coax the farmer out of his house lol

Lots of interesting information about the elves. So if I have things straight, there are two main factions: the stereotypically cruel winter court, who wants to shrink and enslave humanity, and the summer court, who...well, would still like to shrink humanity if they could get permission, but only because they think tiny humans are cute and it would be for the best for everyone. 

If the friendly elves want more humans, all they really need to do is fix their PR problem after the civil war. There probably wouldn't be a shortage of volunteers if people knew they would be pampered and well taken care of by the elves. Same with most species in this setting, now that I think about it. Find a way to persuade men they're not as scary as they look or as dangerous as their reputation, and plenty of men would happily be husbands/lovers/pets/etc.

The Summer Court are the ones that are elves in this story, usually fair haired and fair skinned, very good with magic, etc. The winter court would be the elves in Diplomatic Mission and The Dark Elf's Apprentice, darker skinned, white haired, still lots of magic but also with a more illusion/stealth bent. It's actually the summer court that's locked in the cruel vs gentle faction stalemate, as Tyrael notes the situation will probably end in civil war at some point. As you mentioned Tyrael would probably try to go for the PR solution, they're elves, they've got nothing but time after all. The Winter Court is presently allied with humans, although they've got their own share of mischievous long term plans for the humans of the Empire. I'm working on some more fantasy stories which will hopefully explain the dynamic a little clearer.

Nice to see Dirk and Cora find a happy medium between the Amazon's way of life and what Dirk is used to. A good compromise.

Griselda was an asshole, but her assessment of the Amazon's vulnerability isn't wrong. The Amazons have a 'big fish in a small pond' thing going on. They seem sorta ignorant about the rest of the world and a bit overconfident in general. Compared to the technology, magic, and sheer size/physical strength some other species have in your fantasy setting, their Queendom just isn't that strong.

Neat little bit of worldbuilding with the section from the Lizardfolk's perspective showing they're some sort of rebellious faction. Doesn't seem all the important or anything, but it's nice to have those sorts of details thrown in. 

Glad there was no mercy or redemption for Isabella or Hardstone. Their deaths felt right for the story.

Rain's End Amazons got the same happy ending the lamias got, I think? You get a man, you get a man, everyone gets a man! 

Great story, your writing only continues to get better.

Indeed Griselda is 100% right on the Queendom's weaknesses, they need to modernize. In a sense Dirk is their Admiral Perry, though the Japanese have some mixed feelings about him irl. Griselda's real failure was going with a land snatching route instead of emulating what Markus and Amaya were doing, they'd have eagerly helped her if she'd asked... 

Rain's End will appear in some of my other stories, though it'll be a much more metropolitan place than it is here, it's growing after all... Obviously in this timeline the amazons there are getting plenty of menfolk.

The lizards in the long run are in a bad spot, they're enemies to the Amazons and by extension humans in general. They probably won't face extinction but their future won't be nice until they can reach some kind of detente with the amazons.

For his part, Derrick is ready to put being small in the past, and he's off to college like he always planned... What he didn't count on was just how many girls out there would want to slip that wristband off him, or all the wild ideas they have for a tiny guy.

Quinn on the other hand never shrank, and didn't know anyone who did, but she's been harboring some wild fantasies about tinies for years, and she's set her sights on Derrick. Good stuff. Quinn's growth from "I wanna do some pretty messed up stuff" to "wait, those are people, what the fuck am I thinking" was refreshing. The difference between the fantasy of this fetish vs what it would actually be like is probably something most of us think about occasionally.

Iris and Kelly's relationship was nice, but I'm probably biased since I think F/f is pretty neat lol

The only mild criticism is Kelly's trauma felt somewhat understated, considering what she went through, but reading the comments it makes sense why that is. It's also not really your style to lean into that kind of thing, although I am curious what that would look like.

Yes as I've said before Kelly and Iris probably should have gone on a bit longer, I guess when I was initially outlining it I didn't really get how traumatized she was until I started really writing the story if that makes sense, I was still feeling out the tone. Anyways yeah one hopes if this stuff was possible people would react like Quinn and hopefully go a little nicer rather than go off the evil deep end like in so many giantessworld stories. I know people ask for more of pretty much every story you write, but I really do enjoy your fantasy setting, so I'm happy to see this spinoff.

I wonder if we'll learn any more about Turis? There might have been one hell of a miscommunication between what she actually wants and what the elves think she wants. I know there's been some ideas in the gentle threads about what the elf goddess is actually like.

Immortality can be a pretty heavy topic, so it'll be interesting to see how you approach the subject.

We will learn more about Turis, and the elves in general. Immortality is something I explored a little bit in Champion of the Goddess, but I'd like to take another crack at it. This one will have some heavy moments, but hopefully balance them out with some wonder and hopefulness.

lmao, a cult of bodybuilders is not what I was expecting.

Tyrael is being awfully reckless with her decision making. Making deals with a powerful vampire? Going after a dangerous artifact? Trying to keep it all a secret? Her motivation makes perfect sense, but it's really clouding her judgement. 

I totally forgot about Eletha and how she reckoned with her own immortality. It really is a bummer of a topic. I wonder how the average elf who captured a human dealt with it? I guess most probably didn't form bonds with humans as strong as Tyrael or Eletha did.

Tyrael is in a spot where she's been the smartest and most powerful person in the room for so long (like literally centuries) that she no longer has that niggling sense of doubt that tells you maybe this is a bad idea, she just truly believes she's smart and powerful enough to deal with anything that could go wrong.

Given that a lot of the elves want humans as shrunken pets forever no they probably didn't form bonds that powerful. Eletha was an elf who was very much ahead of the curve on dealing with grief, even if she did it in a messed up way. Obviously Tyrael's own emotions on the topic are clouding her judgment pretty badly, something which will come to a head by the end of the story obviously.

This is both really hot and really cute. Excellent job building up the tension. Lilah occasionally making sure Becca is still okay, despite having the green light to do what she wants to her, was very sweet.

I'm glad you liked it! I really like the idea of gentle domination, and this story and Anticipation were written from a particular frustration that I was having a hard time finding that sort of dynamic in giantess vore works. It's kind of a niche within in a niche, I suppose. It's heartening to find there appears to be an audience for it!
