Chapter 8 - The Letter

Nick lands in the middle of the sheet of paper and fell on his side. It was a bit inclined, but not enough for the boy to slip. As he regained his senses, he looked up and saw the huge face of the young woman looking towards him.

- I'm here! Help me!! Please!!!

Despite her attention to the letter, Claire did not notice him. It was incredible! He was right under her eyes, and yet she did not see him! Nick was more and more desperate. He raised himself a little, leaning on his arms when suddenly, Claire put the letter on the table.

- Aaaah! - Nick shouted surprised by the sudden movement of the sheet.

The boy saw one of her huge fingers plunge toward him.

- NO!

He was about to be crushed like an insect! He got up and ran.

- CLAIRE!

He dived and ducked it just in time while the giantess slammed her finger on the paper, saying:

- Here, you'd have to add that you've never seen any incidents, or anything like that, right?

- Yeah, you're right.

Alizée sat at the table and plunged a pen down at the little boy who did not have time to get up.

- Wait!!

Nick saw her hand advancing straight towards him.

- NOOOO!! - he shouted, putting his hands in front of his face.

She slammed her hand down on him, so he found himself just below, between her fingers on the paper and the tip of her pen. Nick pressed himself flat against the ground and saw the huge fingers of his neighbour a few millimetres away from him.

- HELP!

It was then that she began to write. The boy turned his head and saw the tip of the pen being dragged along the paper and approaching him.

- AAAAAH!

He rolled to the side just before the tip of the pen went where he was. As she moved away from him, Nick stood up and tried to regain his composure when he saw Alizée's bulky hand pass just above him to be on the other side of the paper. The boy understood then she was going to write a new line. As if to confirm his thought, he saw the huge hand start writing again and approaching him.

- NO!

He ran to escape, but Alizée was writing quickly, and the distance between her hand and the boy became shorter and shorter.

- NO! STOP WRITING!!

In panic, Nick suddenly stumbled and fell on the sheet of paper. He turned without getting up, and saw the hand of the young woman a few centimetres from him. He was going to be crushed!

- NOOOOOOO!! STOP!!!

At the last moment, Alizée finished her sentence and raised her pen.

- There it's done! - she said, putting the cap back on.

Nick breathed a sigh of relief, but that moment of respite did not last long:

- I'll go put it in their mailbox. - continued the neighbour. I do not want to bother them again.

Nick looked up in horror at the young woman. He jumped onto his feet and began to run while Alizée began to bend the letter. He saw the paper rise in front of him like a huge wave. He stopped and shouted:

- ALIZÉÉE!! NOOOOO!!

He saw part of the paper fall towards him and ran in the opposite direction.

- PLEASE HELP!!

He continued running as the paper began to cover him. He saw the edge of the paper getting closer and closer.

- STOP!!!

Alizée ran her finger over the crease, and Nick was flattened to the ground under the weight of the paper. As she pressed the sheet, he felt the pressure increase. He looked at the edge of the letter just in front of him, but now inaccessible. He was trapped! He knew now that his screams would be muffled and that she and Claire could no longer hear him. Alizée picked up the letter and Nick began to slide towards the fold.

- Aaaaaaah!!

She did not suspect for a second that she was holding her neighbour prisoner between her fingers, as he was desperately trying to escape her hold on him. The young woman put the letter in an envelope she had prepared and closed it.

- NO, HELP ME!! - shouted the boy, powerless.

But it was too late. Nick was then jostled in all directions while his pretty neighbour was coming out of her house to bring the letter to his mother. How could she not notice that he was there before her eyes? Was he really that small? He was now trapped in an envelope ...

Alizée crossed the street that separated her house from his. She opened his family's mailbox and put the envelope inside.

- Aaaaaah!!

Nick fell on his side because of the fall of the letter, then it went completely black. Nick groped his way out of the letter at one of its sides and positioned himself in front of the transparent part of the envelope. He saw a line of light coming from the opening of the box. At least he was going home. But when ? If his mother and sister did not come to check on the mail today, he could spend the whole night here! Or even more ...
