STARDATE: 23709-37.5

The Arcturus Sector, Starbase 238

The Stardust limped along on impulse power, it's warp drive in need of repair. Captain Miramar stood on the bridge, as helmsman Morales piloted the starcruiser to starbase 238. Zack Brenner, a passenger, stood near captain Miramar.

"Mr. Brenner, I apologize for this delay. I know your wife and daughter were looking forward to this vacation. According to my engineer, it should only take an hour to get the warp drive online, then we're on our way to Aldebaran!"

"I don't mind, captain! It's my family's safety I was concerned about. My daughter is in junior high school, and I want her to live long enough to attend starfleet academy!"

"Your family's safety is my utmost priority, Mr. Brenner!"

Meanwhile, on the bridge of the federation starship Parra, the captain is giving a special opportunity to a young female ensign.

"Ensign Navarro, have you ever manned the helm before?" the captain asked.

"No, sir!" ensign Navarro replied.

"Well," the captain said, "now's your chance! Take us out to mark five, vector three-nine, vector seven-five. Warp factor five!"

"Aye, sir!" ensign Navarro replied.

Ensign Navarro was inexperienced and didn't realize there would be a problem when the coordinates the captain gave her would put them on a collision course with the Stardust before they entered warp. In her mind, they would enter subspace before they could possibly collide with the Stardust, and she was correct, but this action would have drastic consequences for the crew and passengers of the Stardust. The starship Parra entered warp.

Meanwhile, back on the bridge of the Stardust...

"Captain, we've been pulled through a vortex caused by a nearby starship entering warp too close to us! We've been pulled into subspace!" helmsman Morales said.

"Then stabilize us and return us to normal space!" the captain ordered.

"I can't! The engineer has the phase inducers offline, because he was working on them!"

The captain became concerned. "What're you telling me? If we were in subspace this long, the tachyon particles would've ripped us apart, to say nothing about the inertia dampeners failing after we gained infinite velocity!"

"We're not stuck in subspace, captain!" the helmsman answered.

"Then what the hell is happening?" the captain demanded.

"We're phasing back and forth between subspace and alternate quantum realities! We could end up in an alternate universe where the federation never existed, or to a reality where the Nazis won World War Two!"

The captain tapped his comm badge, and asked for the engineer. "Rick!" the captain said, "I need you to get this ship to the nearest alternate quantum reality in one piece! That's an order!"

Twenty minutes later...

The Stardust hovered in orbit above a class M planetoid about the size of Mars, the same approximate distance from it's star as Earth was from the sun.

"Report?" the captain asked his engineer.

"We can't leave this reality until our warp drive is repaired. It'll take about an hour to repair it with our equipment, but if we don't leave within half an hour, we'll never be able to lock onto the quantum signature of our own reality. We could spend eternity going from one reality to the next, never finding our way home!"

"Captain," the helmsman said, "I'm picking up faint life-signs from the planet's surface and signs of an industrialized civilization."

"Helmsman," the captain ordered, "land the Srardust on the surface of this planet, near one of the smaller settlements."

"They're all small, sir!"

"Then pick one at random!" the captain ordered.

"No, sir, you don't understand! The scale of this civilization, of the people of this world, is way off! I'd say the tallest person among them probably stands less than two inches tall!"

"What the hell?" the captain asked.

The helmsman continued: "It's as if the entire population has been miniaturized! I can only imagine why people would choose to do a thing like that!"

"Well, we'll investigate." the captain said.

The starcruiser landed in an open desert area about a football field away from the edges of a town. The captain, the helmsman, and a female assistant named Britney exited the Stardust to check things out.

"According to this tricorder," Britney said, "alot of the matter in this vicinity is made up of miniaturized atoms."

Then they saw a road. It was paved with black asphalt, and had a yellow line painted down the middle. It twisted toward the town, and the trio followed it. The road was approximately one foot across. The horizon of the tiny town came into view next. It looked like any town on Earth, but on a smaller scale. There were houses, trees, churches, businesses, and telephone poles. When they came closer, they could see the tiny people of this small town, who had all stopped what they were doing to look up at the awesome giants who had invaded their tiny land.

The captain's comm badge beeped. "Yes?" he asked.

"This is Rick! Zack Brenner wants to know if his daughter can come out to explore the little town!"

"I don't see why not!" the captain replied. "She might as well have some fun, after all, their vacation is ruined!"

Britney studied the little townspeople. "Do you think they speak English, captain?"

"We are in a parallel universe, and they appear human, so maybe they do!"

The captain looked down and addressed the tiny people. "Citizens! We're strangers here, and we mean you no harm! If you're a technologically advanced civilization, we need your help to repair our warp drive! Can you help us?"

One of the tiny people stepped forward. He was a man, about an inch and a half tall. "I'm Zelly! I'm a scientist, and I think I can offer you assistance!"

"If you don't mind my asking," the captain asked, "how did you and your people become miniaturized? Were you convicted of a crime?"

"No!" Zelly replied. "We chose to shrink ourselves because we had no other solution to a population explosion! It's a felony for any of us to return to normal size!"

Meanwhile, Zack Brenner's thirteen-year-old daughter Rachel stepped out of the starcruiser, and headed toward the town. She could see the others in the distance, and the shrunken town. Her ultra-short silver mini-skirt reflected the sunlight from the harsh sun, and her bare white legs seperated her miniskirt from her purple midcalf leather boots. Her long auburn hair glided over her bare shoulders, and her tanktop was enhanced by her hazel eyes, which were the same color as her tanktop.

She approached the captain, Britney, and helmsman Morales. Helmsman wasn't an apt term for Morales, because she was one hundred percent female. Rachel could see the sunlight reflecting off the legs of the two women, because for some reason, ultra-short mini-skirts were the chosen style, a style Rachel had also adopted. The only reason her parents had allowed her to get away with wearing such a short skirt was because they were on vacation. Never in a thousand light-years would her parents allow her to dress this way for school. Rachel came aside the captain and the two women.

"Captain," Rachel asked, "you don't mind if I explore this tiny city, do you?"

"No, go ahead! All I ask is that you stay out of our way! This little guy, Zelly, is going to help us repair our warp drive!"

Rachel complied by walking around the edge of the tiny city, to a region far from the prying eyes of captain Miramar and his crew. Eventually, after passing some low hills that were several feet high, she came to a depression where the section of town was at a lower elevation, and her view of the captain and Britney and helmsman Morales were blocked by the small hills. Rachel kneeled down to get a good look.

"Now then," Rachel said, "I'm Rachel! Would any of you like to come out and play?"

A group of tiny people not much more than an inch tall came out of their tiny houses to look up at the mighty giantess. Several of the boys were Rachel's age. Rachel's white arm came gliding down out of the sky, and she unfurled her palm in front of a few teenage boys about 16 years old. Normally, boys this age were out of her league, because she was still in junior high school. But with her newfound stature, she was like a mighty goddess to them.

"Step into my hand!" Rachel commanded. "I won't eat you, if that's what you're thinking!"

Rachel smiled as she thought about what she had just said. Up until now, she'd thought of these little people as novelties, toys to marvel at. But swallowing them? At this point she hadn't made her mind up yet, but she was considering the possibility!

Meanwhile, captain Miramar was conferring with Zelly about the materials he was able to provide. Miramar tapped his comm badge. "Rick, I need my engineer! One of these little people is a scientist, and he says he can help us! I need you to get over here and tell him exactly what we need to repair the ship!"

"Aye, sir!" Rick's voice replied over the comm.

Back at another part of the little town, 13-year-old Rachel was making progress with one of the 16-year-old boys.

"You're cute!" Rachel said. "Do you want to make out?"

The boy laughed at this. "No," Rachel said, "I'm serious! Let's make out! I want my first kiss to be a situation where I'm...in control!"

Back with the away team, Rick had left the starcruiser as fast as he could. The time was ticking away before they would run out of time to find the quantum signature of their own reality. His goal was to repair the warp drive as fast as humanly possible. Miramar introduced him to Zelly, and the two of them got to work. Zelly had a plan for providing the reactor couplings that had been damaged. The problem was, the little people weren't quite as technologically advanced as the federation.

"How long will it take to provide us with the reactor couplings?" Rick asked.

Zelly explained that he had already had that taken care of. Dozens of his friends were putting the materials together, and Zelly assured Rick that it wouldn't take longer than ten minutes. Rick looked at his chronometer.

"That'll give us ten minutes to get the warp drive online, captain!" Rick said.

"Can you do it in time?" captain Miramar asked.

"I can do it, in theory," Rick replied, "but I've never gotten a warp drive online that fast before! We're really going to be racing the clock!"

"Well, there's a first time for everything!" Miramar replied.

Back in her concealed hiding place, at a lower elevation of the town, far from the captain's view, Rachel had succeeded in convincing the teenage pawn in her hand to make out with her. He was actually aroused by the idea, and had only tried to talk her out of it to feign disinterest, to throw her off.

Rachel raised the tiny teen up to her mouth, and opened wide. The teen could see two rows of immaculate teeth, with a massive tongue many times his mass in the center. Her uvula was now far beneath him, because Rachel had tilted her head up as she lifted her palm above her mouth. She tilted her hand, and the tiny teen fell into her mouth. At first she kept her mouth open, as she forced him gently around inside her mouth. Then, she closed her mouth, and as the other tiny people below her watched, she swallowed him down with a climactic gulp!

"Oops!" Rachel said to the other townspeople. "I accidentally swallowed him! What should I do?"

Rachel found it hard to conceal her smile, because she had in fact, swallowed the tiny teen intentionally. Some of the teenage friends of the swallowed boy were not convinced of her innocence.

"You swallowed him on purpose!" one boy shouted up to Rachel.

"Yeah!" another boy joined in. "You're evil!"

"So what if I did swallow him on purpose? What are you going to do about it" Rachel taunted.

She reached down for the two boys, but they tried to run. They didn't get far. Rachel's cupped hand slammed down around them, containing them. She balled her hand into a fist, and the two tiny teens were contained therein.

Meanwhile, back at the starcruiser, Rick had the couplings he needed, and proceeded to install them to the warp engine. Britney and helmsman Morales stood by, ready to take orders from Rick if her needed them. Captain MIramar took Zelly, and deposited him outside the starcruiser, not wanting to waste the precious time it would take to walk him back to the town.

"Rachel!" he yelled. She had failed to take a communicator with her.

Rachel heard the captain's yell. She put one of the two teens into her mouth, and swallowed. When she was finished, she addressed the other captive: "I want you to struggle inside my belly after I swallow you! That way, you can provide me with entertainment!"

Then she swallowed him. She returned toward the starcruiser. On her way there, she found Zelly walking back toward town. Picking him up, she said, "Hi, I'm Rachel, who are you?"

"I'm Zelly!" he replied from the palm of her hand.

"Hey!" Rachel said, "Zelly rhymes with belly, and my belly is exactly where you're going! I'm putting you in the pouch connected to my belt, and you'll keep quiet in there if you know what's good for you!"

Rachel re-joined her parents in their quarters aboard the Stardust. Meanwhile, Rick informed the captain they were ready for take-off. Captain Miramar ordered helmsman Morales to bring in the gangplank and shut the exterior doors, and they took off into the sky. Once in space, Rick the engineer and helmsman Morales worked together to try to find a way back to their own universe. According to Rick, they had less than two minutes before the quantum signature of their own universe was lost forever.

Back in the guest quarters, Zack had found the tiny captive his daughter had captured. Zelly had tried to escape, and Rachel's mother had panicked upon seeing the tiny man, thinking her daughter had violated the prime directive.

"Now Rachel, I want you to be straight with me!" her father demanded. Zelly was safely in the hands of Rachel's mother.

"I wanted to see what it was like to swallow one of them!" Rachel said sheepishly. "It's not like they matter! They're from a parallel reality! They're like toy people!"

"It does matter, young lady!" Zack Brenner shouted.

Back on the bridge, Rick was convinced he could find their way back. After several computations, they appeared back near starbase 238, in the Arcturus sector. The starship Parra was nearby, and hailed them.

"I'm the captain of the Parra! An ensign of mine made the mistake of going into warp too near your starcruiser, and that's what caused this whole situation! I apologize!"

"Apology accepted!" captain Miramar answered.

"Your ship was worlds away!" the captain of the Parra continued. "We were setting up a search party to track you down!"

Just then, Zack Brenner raced onto the bridge. "I have something to say!" he held up Zelly for the captain of the Parra to see.

"While we were on a planetoid in an alternate reality, my daughter swallowed several miniaturized people! I'm reporting this, in the hope that she'll receive a lighter sentence!"

"You can relax!" the captain of the Parra assured him. "According to federation law, no federation citizen can be prosecuted for crimes committed in alternate realities!"

Zack Brenner breathed a sigh of relief. "However," the captain of the Parra continued, "she will need to be interrogated. It's standard procedure!"

And once reporters found out about it, Rachel Brenner became the most celebrated teenager of her decade. The last that was heard of her, she decided to use her newfound fame to her advantage, and gave up hope of a career in starfleet in exchange for an acting career.
