Chapter 9 - World of Humans


The colossal woman bends down until her face is level with me. She looks at me with an expression of indifference and curiosity. My body screams at me to run as fast as I can, yet my brain knows that this attempt would be futile, with all this reach she would easily catch me.

- YOU ARE THE MOST INCREDIBLE HUMAN I HAVE EVER SEEN, NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY THE TITANS HAVE KEEPED YOU ALIVE - Her voice caused very strong gusts of wind, making me drag my feet on the ground. If it hadn't been for the reinforcement I received, I would certainly have flown away like a leaf in a hurricane.

- T-Thank you, I think.

- Come on - The colossal woman swiped her finger on the table, running towards me, helplessly, I just waited for the finger to run over me.

URGH!

I ended up sticking to her digit, trapped by the sweat on her skin. 

- You said you wanted to go home, didn't you? I'll show you the way - The colossal woman opened her cavernous mouth and sucked her finger where I was.

I struggled to stay alive in her ocean of saliva, when she...

GLUP!

Swallowed me.

BIP! BIP! BIP!

Sounds of medical equipment beeped in my ears. My dark vision cleared up. When I opened my eyes, I felt a sensitivity to light, as they hadn't yet adjusted to the environment.

- HUH? You're finally awake, young man," said an old man wearing a lab coat. 

- Where am I? - My head hurts and I'm confused.

- You're in hospital. You were found unconscious on a nearby beach. What's more, you were unconscious for four weeks.

- I see - it was all just a dream, like all the others I've had.

- By the way, there are some agents who want to talk to you, right? - I nodded - Come in.

Two men in black came into my room and sat down next to my bed.

- Hello, Jonas. My name is Charles and this is my assistant, Wagner. Can I ask you a few questions? 

- I'm fine.

- You've been missing for over a year, do you remember where you've been? - I was confused

- A year?! 

BOOM!

A violent tremor shook the hospital's fragile structures with overwhelming force. The faint lights flickered frantically, while objects detached themselves from shelves and fell noisily to the floor. Wails and anguished cries echoed outside, creating an atmosphere of despair and chaos.

- It's an earthquake! 

BOOOOOM!

The next tremor was even more intense than the last. Charles pulled back the curtain to see what it was like outside. People were running and screaming as a huge shadow began to take over the city.

- What the hell is going on here?

- HELLO, HUMANS - said a colossal female voice, familiar to Jonas.

- Oh no.

Note from the Author: Dear Readers,

I hereby inform you that this is the end of World of Titans. I know it's not the ideal ending, I did it very lazily in fact, but I'm also going to start another project in the future, which will take place in the same universe, the difference is that now it won't be told from Jonas' point of view, or that of any character, the story will be told in third person. 

This project will be on hold for a while, I want to write other stories, perhaps shorter ones.
