Author's Chapter Notes:

Colossal

It was the longest elevator ride of her life, following the longest commute and the longest workday that seemed to drag on and on. Quickly, Emily made her way to her apartment, hurriedly opening the door and throwing her jacket and bag to the ground as she frantically locked the door behind her. She had been waiting for this moment to arrive, anxiously counting down the days until she was free and now, as she returned home after a long boring week, nothing was going to get in her way. Her weekend was cleared, her entire schedule wiped clean in preparation of the momentous occasion, it was just her and the game.

Quickly, Emily shed the unnecessary remnants of her workday, carelessly sloughing off her pants and blouse like a naked butterfly emerging from its clothes cocoon. Clad in nothing but a meagre tank-top and some comfy underwear, the shapely girl arched her back with a mighty stretch, her beautiful body silhouetted against the low light of the room as she limbered up. She had been preparing for this all week, setting up the equipment, making space in the living room, and as she slipped on a pair of kinematic socks and reached for the VR headset on the end table, an overwhelming sense of giddiness and excitement came with it.

“Finally!” She exclaimed to herself with a satisfied sigh, pulling the headset over her glasses as her world dimmed to black, only to be met with the digital interface of the headset. Beaming with a tremendous grin, Emily gave the hardware a few nods and a shake of the head to test the tracking and then, a pair of motion-reading, finger tracking controllers in hand, she booted the game up. The screens of the headset faded before a colourful splash screen appeared, the title of the game displayed in bright, unmistakeable letters.

“Colossal VR”

She had been waiting eagerly for this game since it’s announcement. The newest entry in a long-spanning series of frantic, over-the-top action, Colossal VR was the franchise’s VR debut, promising to give players the chance to embody the iconic characters of the series like never before. In the past, players simply controlled Colossal’s roster of giant heroes as they smashed and crushed their way through the tiny worlds that made up the game’s levels. Adopting a brand new approach to it’s gameplay, Colossal VR was meant to be the ultimate immersive experience, inviting players to step into the shoes of Prince, the Giant Ape, Eliza, the Giant Kaiju, or Laura, the Giant Woman and live out their rampaging fantasies.

The splash screen faded, a few disclaimers appearing and disappearing just as quickly as the title screen came into view. Had she been less excited for the game she was about to play, Emily may have been more concerned about the warning messages she had just missed, having barely any time to glance them over. Still, she paid them little mind, navigating the menus with her controllers in hand, ready to begin her hotly anticipated romp. Skipping over the tutorials, the eager gamer jumped straight into the main campaign, landing herself on the screen she had been looking forward to the most, the character selector. The scaly giant monster Eliza thudded into view, stepping over a row of buildings before giving a defiant roar and standing at rest. A nifty animation, but not what Emily was looking for. Flipping through the menu, she found the selection she wanted, and upon choosing the option, a shapely brunette, clad in tattered clothing, stepped into the frame and rested a cocksure hand on her hip. There, the fierce giantess Laura stood, waiting for her adventure to begin.

“Hello again, beautiful.” Emily said, giving the camera a spin around the gorgeously detailed 3D model. As the eager gamer looked over her player character, carefully inspecting every aspect of this hyper realistic depiction of the female form, Emily felt a tinge of nostalgia, a heartwarming sense of reuniting with an old friend. Together, her and Laura had spent countless nights terrorizing the populace of the series’ generic cities, playing every single entry in the Colossal franchise extensively. While on the surface, these games offered little more than some quick action with a quirky premise, to Emily, they represented so much more. They were an outlet, a way to live out her own fantasies, to be everything she couldn’t be in real life, powerful and important. She had always seen Laura as an extension of herself, an avatar to express her dreams of giant-sized domination and destruction, and in that way, Emily formed a lasting emotional bond to this character, this series of pixels displayed on a screen.

“Oh… wow.” Emily gasped, taking in the view, even lowering herself to get a street-level POV of her beloved old friend. Laura’s eyes tracked the camera’s movement, her giant head tilting downward to keep her gaze locked squarely on Emily’s view, completing the illusion as the massive giantess peered down past her ample cleavage at the tiny girl below.

“This is unreal.” The captivated girl said, appreciating the view from every angle she could physically reach, all while Laura’s steadfast stare followed. The fidelity at which Laura’s model was rendered amazed the awestruck gamer as she blissfully looked up at the towering titaness. Audio of the chaotic streets poured in as tiny npc’s fled past Emily’s point of view, completely immersing her in this world of chaos and wanton destruction. It felt so natural, even as she craned her neck to look up at the digital effigy, Emily felt a warm sense of familiarity to the strangeness and with that familiarity came a sharp and sudden tingle. Emily shuddered, feeling her knees wobble slightly as Laura continued to silently stare down at her while she quickly composed herself.

“I guess that’s our cue to begin.” She said to herself, ending the brief moment of adoration as the menus returned and she prepared to enter the game. The time for fawning over Laura had was over. It was time to become her.

Rolling her neck, Emily took a deep breath, feeling her heart begin to beat a little quicker as she began the game proper, her vision fading to white as the game loaded its first level. Along with the quickening of her pulse, goosebumps formed over Emily’s slender arms, the anticipation manifesting itself physically all throughout her body. This is what she had been waiting for, dreaming of for years, and the excitement was mounting. Slowly, the white blended into a horizon. A cityscape of buildings no taller than three storeys high surrounded Emily’s view as she stood where Laura stood, feet firmly planted in the middle of a vacant street that seemed dwell so far below her. Rounding a corner, a tiny car skimmed along the road and instinctively, the awestruck girl reached down, seeing Laura’s hands, her hands, extend to pluck the errant vehicle off the ground. Reacting to her approach, the car swerved to avoid the oncoming hand and sped down the road erratically, as though it’s tiny driver was realistically terrified and stressed. Emily just watched, feeling a sensation so strange, something that blurred a line between real and fake as she saw the little car, a figment she knew to be a compilation of computer code and binary, react to her as though it were any regular driver on the road. She looked to her hands, Laura’s hands, with wonder as she gripped her controllers in specific ways, watching the fingers in each hand close and open to mirror her own.  Below, another car rounded the corner and approached, slowing and honking it’s horn as it pulled up and stopped directly in front of Emily’s feet, unable to go any further. Carefully, she cleared a path for the car, her kinematic socks tracking the movement of her feet within the game. As the car sped on down the clear street, Emily couldn’t help but marvel at herself, at her view of the world, at how she felt. By all accounts, the mechanics on display within Colossal VR weren’t anything new, games had been doing hand tracking and the like for years. But to Emily, the simplicity of moving her hand and seeing Laura mirror the gesture in first person meant so much more. Standing in the tiny virtual city she found herself would probably seem quaint to some, but to her, this was the culmination of years of fantasy. For the first time in her life, Emily felt like she was where she belonged, and she was ready to indulge herself.

Within her field of view, a text box appeared, detailing a list of objectives Emily had to complete in order to advance to the next level. While she knew she didn’t need to adhere to these goals particularly strictly to have fun, they did offer some direction for players that were looking for structure beyond simply taking in the gigantic lifestyle. Still, as she pondered the itinerary, Emily couldn’t help but feel how wrote it all seemed. It was as though she was given goddesshood followed by a laundry list of things to do, things that she would assuredly take care of on her own time if left to her own devices.

“Take out 30 cars, destroy 20% of the city? Seems awfully conservative, guys!” Emily said to herself, minimizing the objective box with a simple, dismissive flick of her wrist. Before her, the pristine playground lay undisturbed, it’s offices and apartments barely scraping past the upswell of her, or rather, Laura’s breasts. With a quick estimate, Emily surmised that they were starting the game off around 60ft, a relatively small size but as she continued through the game, her and Laura had nowhere to go but up. And as she prepared to introduce herself to the city, Emily smirked as another car lazily cruised down the street towards her.

“Well, if I must.” She playfully shrugged, lifting her foot high into the air as her kinematic socks rendered the action in the virtual world flawlessly. The little car, as though it has detected the act of aggression, began to speed up to make its escape. Watching carefully, Emily shifted, making minuscule adjustments and calculations to track the moving object’s trajectory, waiting for the exact moment that the car entered her perilous proximity. Letting off a mischievous giggle, she relaxed her leg and let her foot fall, crashing into the ground at full force. In her living room, Emily felt the underwhelming impact of her stomp on her hardwood floor, but in the game, Laura’s foot collided with the pavement, flattening the hapless vehicle as a shockwave of force rippled throughout the street. Even though there was a disconnect between what she felt and what she saw and heard, Emily felt her heart race as she lifted her foot to see the pancaked remains of her first quarrel, her knees wobbling ever-so-slightly from excitement. In her ears, the ambience of the world changed, the soft hum of a quiet urban evening seemed to ramp up, reacting to the gratuitous act of simulated violence. A layer of tiny screams echoed across the cityscape as the sound of faint sirens poured in. Ambivalent to her presence before, the world now knew Emily was here, and they were on alert.

“Well, that’s one down.” She said to herself, taking a step towards the row of buildings abutting the street. Very gently, Emily reached out with her toe extended, watching Laura’s foot dig into the tiny buildings and leave a deep gash as she swept her foot to the side. Debris poured out of the damaged businesses as the total percentage of destruction caused ticked up by 1%, but Emily couldn’t help but notice a disconnect as she waved her foot through the air, feeling nothing as Laura carved the buildings apart.

“I guess nothing’s perfect.” She sighed, pulling away from the damaged building before suddenly winding her leg back. With a tremendous swing, Emily kicked with as much force as she could muster, utterly cratering the damaged business in a fan of masonry and glass. The audio-visual stimulation was exhilarating, and as Emily watched the debris rain down as the sound of concrete and metal scraped and settled, she felt pure, unmitigated thrill. But the impact was dampened somewhat, the physical, tactile element was missing. No matter how much of the game she enjoyed, a small tinge of disappointment lingered in the back of Emily’s thoughts, a subtle reminder that this was as close as she’d ever get to living out her gigantic fantasies.

She paused for a moment, and quelled the thought. Inside, Emily’s heart was still racing and her excitement was still skyrocketing. Virtual or not, there was fun to be had and Emily was not about to deny herself the fun she had waited so long to experience. By now, the city’s police force had arrived, they’re red and blue flashing lights seeping into the streets where Emily stood defiantly. She peered down at them curiously as they slowly approached, seeing tiny officers lean out from the windows, weapons drawn and trained on her. With a mischievous grin, Emily took a large step towards the two patrol cars when they opened fire. Their projectiles were slow, bolts of bright light meant for the player to dodge if they were quick enough, but Emily simply tanked the hits and continued on her path, ignoring the flashes of red that appeared on screen to remind her of the damage Laura was taking. The police force made no attempt to flee, simply continuing to shoot as their target was now directly on top of them, and with a single, simple gesture, Emily handily dispatched both of the aggressors with a well placed footstep, flattening both cars and adding two more to her running tally.

“Is that the best you’ve got?” She goaded, a smug sense of pride washing over her. Of course, the game had only just begun. There would always be more, and as she progressed and her and Laura grew, new threats would emerge to challenge them at every turn. But still, to see the peon police roll up to stop her fun and they be summarily wiped out just as quickly filled the imaginative gamer with a sense of satisfaction she had never felt before. Sure, these were just programmed obstacles, a means to distract the player from their task and offer some sense of difficulty in an otherwise-easy game. But to Emily, they represented so much more. They completed the retaliatory side of the gigantic cat-and-mouse game she had always dreamt of playing. Assuredly, no giant could ever have their way with a city and not expect some kind of opposing force. Whether it be local police of the full force of the nation’s military, Emily expected to be challenged, and as rudimentary as they were, these tiny coppers valiantly served their purpose in fulfilling the burgeoning goddess’s fantasy.

Reaching out her hand, Emily pressed her fingers into the rooftop of a nearby building, watching the structure cave inward with incredible detail as the destruction percentage ticked up. Carelessly, she swished her arm inside the hollowed-out building, delighting as the it’s walls, and the walls of the adjacent structures, crumbled at Laura’s erratic touch. A particularly large chunk of the structure came loose and instinctively, Emily grabbed it, marvelling at the piece of construction she had come away with, a brick and steel section of the building, no doubt weighing a few dozen tonnes. She tossed the piece up and caught it, giggling to herself as she played with her new toy, trying to imagine its weight in her hands. Spotting another wave of police cruisers rounding the bend, Emily smirked, reeling back and frisbee tossing the building chunk at the approaching attack force, completely sweeping them off the street as the heavy piece of structure ploughed into the businesses at the end of the street.

“Strike!” Emily shouted, jumping excitedly at her creative handiwork, both progress counters ticking up as a thunderous explosion billowed out of the far away structure. Reaching for a car parked nearby, the delighted gamer took aim and tossed the hunk of metal in the same direction. It soared through the air, smashing into the damaged row of buildings at the end of the street with a satisfying crunch. It was like a carnival game, some twisted form of beanbag toss that elated Emily to no end as she plucked car after car, some empty, some not, off the road and flung them at the punished structures at the end of the block. As she played her game and the tally of cars and destruction ticked higher and higher, Emily looked around and found no more cars parked near enough to reach for, instead seeing a lone vehicle speeding away from her in a hurry. Instinctively, she gave chase, quickly gaining on the vehicle. But as she got in close and prepared to reach for her prize, the entranced gamer felt a tug, a strange bit of feedback forcing itself on her in the real world, a space she hadn’t considered in a while. Emily had chased the car to the limits of her living room, finding herself precariously close to the electrical outlet that powered her VR setup. As she watched the little vehicle get away, she felt around for the source of the problem, realizing that her ankle had become tangled in the web of cables and cords that dangled from the outlet.

“Oops.” Emily exclaimed, lifting the headset from her head as her eyes adjusted to the light of her living room. So thoroughly had she become entangled in the mess of cords that even the slightest tug of her ankle threatened to pull the collection of cables free from the outlet, bringing a swift end to her room sensors and wireless headset transmitter.

“I really should have taped all this down.” She said to herself, realizing now that in her fervour to play the game, some considerations to the set up of her equipment were left by the wayside. The outlet that powered everything bulged with sockets and plugs, and the tension exerted on the mess by her leg was threatening to pull the entire assembly loose. Carefully, Emily reached down to pull her ankle free, gently parting the serpentine cables and stepping out from the trap. Relieved, she turned and prepared to return to the centre of her living room to begin playing again, but as she took her first step, Emily realized she was falling forward, stumbling on an unseen strand of cable that had ensnared her other leg. As she fell, the outlet of cords came free, the entirety of her setup, and the power to her apartment, shutting down as she landed on the smooth surface of her living room floor.

“Dammit.” She muttered face down into the floor, alone in the dark and slightly embarrassed. She sat there for a moment, summoning the composure to pick herself up off the floor and sort this mess out. Her apartment’s auto-breaker kicked in, the lights coming back on as Emily scratched her head wearily and stood up, looking at all the cables she had unplugged with dismay.

“I guess nothing’s klutz-proof.” She griped, connecting the cables once again. Surging with electricity, the room began to hum as the devices sprang to life once again. Emily breathed a sigh of relief and centred herself in her living room, ready to pick up from where she was so rudely interrupted.

“Let’s not get carried away this time. Control sticks, baby.” She reminded herself, giving the controllers’ analogue sticks a flick as she fastened the wrist straps and pulled the headset over her face. She had anticipated having to restart the game after the power surge, but as Emily’s eyes adjusted to the vibrant screens, she was greeted not by the usual system interface of the headset, but with a lofty view high above a city street, as though Colossal VR had resumed without her prompting. At first she assumed it was some form of sophisticated auto-resume feature, but as the confused gamer looked around, Emily noticed a few odd discrepancies. As she looked down, she saw Laura’s shapely body, but that was where the similarities with her previous session came to an end. Immediately, Emily noticed how much taller her and Laura were, her view of the area below seeming to put the two of them around the 150ft range in height, almost 100ft taller than before. Beyond the sudden change in perspective, the city Laura stood in seemed to be different, and the time of day had changed. The buildings that filled the landscape looked odd, featuring much more detail than before, and as Emily looked down, she saw not just cars, but tiny people filling the intricate streets as well. It had to have been a glitch, something with the surge seemed to have moved her a few levels ahead of where she had started, but as she tried to open the game menu and quit out of the level, Emily found that no such menu appeared. Opting for plan B, she attempted to return to the headset’s home screen and restart Colossal VR, but as the puzzled player pressed the home button several times, nothing happened.

“Oooookay. Time for a hard reset.” Emily said with confused frustration as she held the power button down. Several seconds passed, and then several more, each passing second well beyond when the headset should have shut down. Defiantly, the machine stayed on, offering Emily no control beyond playing as Laura. As she moved around the space, everything within the game seemed to be normal. Laura moved as she moved, things seemed fine. But any attempts to leave the game or even see the objectives turned up empty.

“I hope this thing is still under warranty.” Emily moped, slumping in defeat as she paced around the street. The tiny people continued to flee, as did the cars, leaving the road empty with nothing but her and the buildings that flanked the street. Feeling particularly vindictive, Emily wound up another mighty kick and plowed her foot through a  residential high rise. As the debris poured out and the building rocked, the disheartened girl felt a small tinge of returning glee, along with that pleasant tingle she had felt when she started.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I suppose we can still have some fun!” She said, her devilish grin retuning.

———

It was sudden, almost startling, the sensation that enveloped her as her kick collided with the building. Every nerve along her delicate foot lit up at once, a shockwave of synapses shooting to life as her toes smashed through the brittle walls of the tiny building. It was something new, something so foreign and strange, but familiar all the same, as though she had done the motions a thousand times before, but never had it felt like this. Rubble poured over her foot as she removed it from the facade of the structure, stepping onto the street, confused and overwhelmed. There, Laura stood tall, as she always had, looming over another hapless city that waited for its doom. It had been a scenario she had enacted since the dawn of her inception, and while she looked different over the years, the motions were always the same, wreak havoc for the entertainment of others. It was a fate she had resigned herself to, something that she had accepted, and even enjoyed, but it was one that she knew was not real. She was a plaything in a cold, virtual world. Laura had come to terms with that fact a long time ago, but for all that she accepted, she still yearned to be rid of the shackles of her fictional world, she so desperately wished to be free.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I suppose we can still have some fun!” She felt herself say, the words leaving her mouth, bouncing back to her off the walls of the tiny building, but that thought was not hers. For the first time since her creation, Laura felt, she felt the cool breeze on the evening air, she felt the rubble beneath her toes, she felt alive, she felt real. But as she turned and reached a hand out, dragging it through the upper levels of the damaged high rise and giggled, the giantess realized she was still not in control. Something had changed, though, that much was clear. Some anomalous event had granted Laura more life and awareness than she had ever known, but to what extent, she wasn’t certain. Somewhere, an unseen puppet master continued to pull her strings, but even without agency, Laura felt more free than she ever had before.

She felt herself move again, taking a few steps into the empty street as her hand pulled away from the building. She looked around, her controller seeming to survey the skyline of the city, looking for points of interest when Laura felt her gaze fall upon a bridge in the distance.

———

“No way, is that the Hazeldean bridge?!” Emily asked in surprise, taking a few instinctive steps towards the familiar landmark. Her curious mind raced as she fought to get a better view of the distinct structure, it’s famous green colour and unique suspension cable shape being almost unmistakeable. Rounding a corner, scores of terrified people turned to run, suddenly alerted to the giant girl’s presence. Emily paid them no mind, continuing towards the distant bridge until she absentmindedly felt the crunch of tiny metal beneath her feet and looked down at the sensation. As she turned her attention downward, something caught her eye, a marquis for an ornate theatre that sat along this busy street, brightly shining amidst the chaos she had brought with her. Up in bright lights, the name “Dirk’s Theater” shone brilliantly, and as she read the sign, Emily realized that it too was something she recognized intimately.

“Wait…” she pondered aloud, the pieces of the puzzle slowly coming together.

“If that’s Hazeldean down there, and that’s Dirk’s right there, then I must be on Hyde Street!”

The droves of people continued to turn as traffic slammed to a violent halt, no cars able to make their escape as the congested roads filled up completely. Hyde Street was a busy downtown destination, hosting some of the most famous stores and locales the city had to offer as hundreds of thousands of people visited it each day. As Emily looked up and down the bustling street, recognizing many of the businesses that lined the wide corridor of commerce, the hairs on her neck stood up as she realized what had happened.

“No way.” She whispered, almost too quiet for herself to hear. In an instant it all clicked as the elated girl realized where she was. This was no longer some generic, nameless city designed to be trampled, Emily now stood above her city. As she marvelled at the level of detail on display, she felt a slight shudder, that quiet tingle feeling stronger now as she took a thunderous step down Hyde Street. It was difficult to place the thoughts she was having, the questions of what had happened to her headset or how Colossal VR had such an immaculate recreation of her very own hometown flitted in and out of her focus as Emily took each passing step. Those thoughts seemed less pressing as she saw more and more of her familiar home realized beneath her, her dream of demolishing this city closer now than ever.

“Fuck, this is hot.” Emily gasped, feeling that tingling sensation return.

“I wish I could get a good view of this.”

———-

“We’re getting a good view of this now, Charlotte! The giant woman just rounded 34th and is heading east down Hyde Street!” The on-site reporter explained with a panic, their camera crew diligently capturing the action as Laura strode past. In the corner of her eye, the giantess spotted them, their news van emblazoned with a bright “Channel 5 Action News” being rather hard to miss. But still, she ignored the news crew and continued towards the bridge, leaving Laura to wonder if she could see more than whoever was controlling her, pondering if her field of view was more realized than whatever visual her possessor was receiving.

Nevertheless, she carelessly strode down Hyde Street, trampling through the blockages of hopeless vehicles until she reached a shoreside road along the river that cut through the city. There before her stood the Hazeldean bridge, looking much smaller in person as she approached, sidling up to the green structure. The bridge was long, spanning the wide river with no support beyond the strong lattice of woven suspension cables that held the road up from either end. Dutifully, the Hazeldean had served as the city’s fastest route to and from the residential sector of the city, its delicate engineering standing up to all the wear and tear city life could throw at it. But as Laura felt her head turn, her eyes tracking all the hapless commuters trapped on the structure, she knew better than to expect she’d leave the bridge alone. Her hand reached out, playfully plucking a steel cable like a harp string as she moved to inspect the results. With a single cable disrupted, the bridge began to rumble, quietly, almost unnoticeably. Every single piece of the structure acted in harmony to ensure it’s stability. Disrupting even a minor piece could yield catastrophic results.

“You know, I’ve always liked this bridge.” Laura felt herself say, speaking for her controller.

“A nice scenic view of the river, decent pedestrian foot paths, that nice little ‘hum’ as you drive over it.”

She took a step away from the bridge, into the river. Instantly, the cold water shocked her newfound senses, the chilling rush shooting through her entire body. Laura wanted to shudder, to gasp, but she took another step, wading through the knee high water towards the centre of the bridge. True to it’s design, there was no support column beneath the middle of the structure, it’s roadway held aloft by its intricate weave of taught cables. Laura reached out a hand, bracing the underside of the bridge and pushing, lifting the centre ever so slightly before dropping it. The cables creaked as the gridlocked cars shifted along the warping structure.

“I don’t really want to smash you, Hazeldean, but it would be so easy.” The giantess said, her lighthearted but threatening words booming over the bridge.

“I could just plop my arm down through the middle, I bet the whole thing would come down.”

As her possessor thought out loud, Laura began to move again, heading towards the residential side’s shore. The cold water continued to chill, but with each soft step into the murky depths of the river, Laura found the sensation to be rather pleasant, feeling almost disappointed as she reached dry land and stepped out onto the riverbank. Turning her attention back to the bridge, the giantess saw the scores of people that had sought to flee on foot. Upon seeing her arrival on the residential side, some of the terrified crowd turned around, running back onto the bridge in a desperate bid to escape whatever wrath they believed the giant woman would bring. If she had enough control to laugh, she would have, finding the panic rather funny.

“Where are you guys going?” She said, her controller finding their retreat rather amusing as well. Feeling a sly smile overtake her, Laura’s hand reached for the suspension cables, this time giving one a violent tug. The bridge bowed upward as the steel cables strained, pulling the structure in ways its engineers never could have foreseen. She let go and the bridge slammed back to rest, throwing its hapless inhabitants to the ground as the veritable parking lot of cars jostled and smashed around, some with enough force to fall over the edge and into the cold depths of the river. Laura marvelled at the structure’s resilience, but she knew her controller wouldn’t be satisfied. Again, she felt herself claw at the weave of steel, grabbing multiple cables at once as she yanked with as much force as she could muster until she felt a snap. Letting go of the mess in her hands, the bridge slumped, it’s centre point now forming a bowl that seemed to deepen with each passing moment. The structure groaned, and as Laura turned to inspect her handiwork, the lattice of cables began to unravel. It was slow at first, but as the centre of the bridge drooped more and more, nearby cars and people tumbling down its forming slope, the cables began to unwind faster and faster. The support column Laura had damaged lurched forward with a sickening metal sound, causing the startled giantess to jump within her own skin. Laura felt her heart race, a sensation that was new and uncomfortable, but exhilarating all the same. She considered the feeling for a moment, wondering if any pain she felt would be as real as the fear of the pain she just experienced, but before she could ponder further, Laura was interrupted by another new sensation.

“Ooooohh my god.” She heard herself gasp, feeling her hands run along her curvaceous form. Her controller was clearly enjoying themselves as a gentle touch grazed the giantess’s inner thigh, delicately tracing itself inward and up her navel. Laura felt herself tremble at the touch, her body lighting up with feelings she’d never had before. As her other hand found itself upward, gently cupping a hefty breast, Laura watched the Hazeldean bridge continue to collapse, its other support columns struggling to keep the structure suspended. A finger found it’s way to her nipple and the giantess gasped again, shivering with the gentle rolling of her erect nipples.

“F-fuck.” She softly moaned as her hand slipped beneath her tattered, outgrown underwear, feeling the heat and wetness that had formed within. As a finger fell across her labia, pulling itself up towards her throbbing clit, Laura squeezed her boob with a startling roughness, letting out a loud, unashamed moan as more of the bridge fell away. Along it’s length, the people desperately trying to flee were beginning to take their chances with the river, jumping over the edge to avoid a worse fate above. Laura watched, feeling an almost bizarre sense of pride at her accomplishment as she grazed her sensitive pussy. Even though these actions were not her own, even though she was still at the beck and call of an unseen controller, Laura felt a strange kinship with her mysterious player. Sure, the life of a rampaging giant was all she had ever known, trapped in an existence of continuing carnage and chaos at the whims of someone else’s thirst for entertainment. But ever since her debut in the very first Colossal game, Laura had developed a taste, an appreciation for the destruction, rationalizing that if she wasn’t given a choice of career, she may as well enjoy the one she had. As the once proud bridge contorted and twisted, it was clear to Laura that whomever was at the wheel felt similarly, a person after her own heart.

A cable snapped, then another, then the rest, unable to support the damage done to the Hazeldean Bridge. The heavy steel supports slithered and snaked free as the suspended structure bowed even further, snapping at its centre point, the entire bridge finally collapsing with everything on it. Laura and her controller stared with rapt attention as this crumbling piece of once-important architecture became a monument to their brazen power and lust. Laura shivered, feeling her pace quicken as two fingers entered her pussy with audible wetness. She cooed, fingering herself as the last of the bridge crashed down into the river, feeling waves of intense pleasure she never knew existed. It was all too much, like a sweltering heat from within that clouded her perception and overwrote her senses. Laura couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t think, as the unseen force guided her hands along and within her body, she felt overwhelmed from the stimulus she was experiencing for the first time.

“Shit.” She heard herself whimper, falling to her knees with a tremendous THUD as her impassioned moans echoed through the river valley. Laura was close, a feeling she could only intuit as she had no clue what she felt close to. Her hands continued to caress and massage her mighty form, with one now dutifully pumping three fingers in and out of her sweltering womanhood. In the corner of her eye, Laura caught glimpses of the people below, most wrapped up in their urge to flee, but a select few stood and watched. It felt so odd, the spotlight was never something the prolific giantess took exemption to, but things were different now. Being on display, a real entity in a real world, in front of real people felt oddly uncomfortable at first, but as Laura felt a finger return to her lonely clit, she was overcome with that strange pride, empowerment even, as the curious eyes of the tiny city fell upon her. Her hands moved quickly, with precision and intent, her controller displaying a proficiency that only came with years of practice to do things the giantess had never known were possible. The pleasure continued to mount, climbing higher and higher towards an apex of unfathomable euphoria as Laura doubled over, another powerful moan escaping her lips as drops of sweat wicked off her glistening frame and into the pavement below. As she continued to pump her pussy with vigour, the giantess felt herself reach for a nearby abandoned car, simply flattening the meagre metal machine as a boost of surging pleasure shot through her while the car crumpled.

“I think I…” Laura gasped, straining to keep her sense focused.

“I’m gonna cum!!”

Her voice rattled windows, the powerful sound waves shooting off into valley as Laura fell backwards, feeling a shockwave of relief wash over her as she screamed in orgasmic delight. A thick torrent creamy nectar coated the intersection from between her legs, her soaking pussy drenched in its own release. Panting deeply as her head spun, Laura laid back, her entire body buzzing in the afterglow of her first-ever orgasm. Every inch of her silky skin felt alight and hot to the touch, exhausted and invigorated at the same time. While she still wasn’t thrilled to be under someone else’s control, if there was more of that in her future, Laura almost didn’t mind.

———

Emily felt the sweat as her top stuck to her slender frame, panting in ecstasy as she picked herself up off the floor. Her underwear was soaked, the warm sweet fluid running along her thigh and onto the floor as she rose to her feet. It had been a lifetime since she experienced an orgasm like that, one full of passion and power, a complete sensory reset that startled even her with its intensity. Perhaps appropriately, it was with Laura and the Colossal games that Emily first felt that power, exacting her fantasies for the very first time. Turning to the demolished Hazeldean bridge, the young woman felt that same strange sense of accomplishment and pride, feeling emotional as she admired her and Laura’s handiwork. Noticing  a stinging in her eyes, Emily raised the headset from her face and wiped away the beginnings of an emotional tear before returning to her virtual playground. Scanning the horizon, she looked for her next victim, wondering what part of her hometown she’d smash next. As she spun around, Emily came to a stop and eyed a structure so familiar to her that she couldn’t help but grin a mischievous Cheshire grin. Setting off towards her target, Emily was beside herself with excitement, looking forward to paying her apartment building a visit.

———

There was a strange moment, feeling almost like control. Now on the move again under someone else’s power, Laura could have sworn that for a brief few seconds, she had control, back when she was looking at the bridge in her post-orgasmic bliss. As she indiscriminately stomped down the new street, the lone giantess wondered to herself, if something had temporarily severed her connection with her possessor, then there had to be a way to break the connection for good. Lumbering down the narrow corridor of waist-high buildings, the monolithic woman stared at the lone high rise, barely taller than the rest, that occupied her gaze, pondering its significance as her controller guided her to it. Below, the chaos of Laura’s stroll rang out across the cityscape, the sound of crashing and crunching and smashing seeming to delight the unseen player none as the giant woman continued with rapt focus.

A city bus rounded the corner as Laura’s massive foot entered the intersection, kicking the tiny vehicle down the street with ease and into her field of view. Feeling herself focus on the still-tumbling piece of public transportation, the giantess noticed a giggle escape her lips, the random act of accidental destruction amusing her controller some before her gaze returned to the distant building that glinted in the setting sun. And yet, as Laura’s eyes locked on to the lone structure, she felt strange, a disorienting dizziness overcoming her as her eyes blurred and then reclaimed their focus.

———

Static enveloped the headset view, grainy pixels distorting the display before returning to their normal, vivid presentation. Odd, Emily thought to herself, but nevertheless she continued her determined trek towards home, eager to see how accurately the game had rendered the building. Behind her on the couch, the lone girl’s phone buzzed incessantly, text messages and phone calls coming in constantly, vibrating the device around on top of the spacious cushion, but Emily was none the wiser. Entranced in her virtual world, the headset’s speakers blocked out the sounds from within her apartment, as well as the sounds from beyond. Curious rumbling, the sounds of cars crashing, sirens wailing, neighbours on all sides shouting in panic. None of these distractions pierced the seal of her headphones, rendering Emily oblivious of the outside world as she guided Laura straight towards her. The headset pulsed with static again, stronger now as she neared her target. Nevertheless, Emily persisted.

———

Laura’s head rattled with another round of painful dizziness, but the erstwhile giantess was unable to nurse the pain as she continued, her mighty strides closing the distance between her and the seemingly important destination quickly. Trampling the desolate streets, with haste, she felt her feet crash through blockades of police cars and abandoned vehicles with little caution or care, the overwhelming headache leaving her unable to focus on anything else. The pain was unbearable, reaching a threshold Laura had never known. She wanted to cry out in agony, to lash out and rage against the brutal sensations, but the punishment persisted with each step the tethered giantess took. Setting foot on the sidewalk, Laura was now upon the high rise, standing at arm’s length from the structure the piercing headache seemed to emanate from. Through the pain, she could barely think, losing her sense to the overwhelming wave of discomfort that washed over her as she felt herself reach out, and then her world went dark, her proximity to her player severing the connection.

——-

The headset shut off a few seconds before the apartment lost power, not that Emily would have noticed as her world became enveloped in a singular quiet darkness, removing the apparatus to see her living room lit only by the dim light of the late sun. There was an eerie quiet, sending a chill down the lone girl’s spine as she pondered the evening’s strange events, practically jumping out of her skin as her phone vibrated on the couch once more, breaking the silence. She reached for the device, it’s dim glow illuminating her confused face as she saw the endless flood of missed calls and texts, each seeming to warn of a singular danger that headed her way, punctuated by a statewide alert message reaffirming the same. For a moment, Emily stood in the dark, unmoving, the hairs on her neck standing up as she felt a crushing tension, a horrible anxiety ball up within her.

Then the world shook.

Her apartment rattled, things fell from shelves and cupboards swung open as the sharp and sudden impact slammed throughout the high rise. Emily struggled to maintain her footing, stumbling back towards her couch for a soft landing when another pulse rocked the structure. From beyond the haze of the window, something outside moved, disrupting the light that poured into the dark apartment, leaving the stunned girl with a singular conclusion. Nothing could be big enough to block the light from this high up, nothing except for the towering engine of destruction she lead straight here.

“No way, there’s no way.” Emily assured herself, sitting up as she felt a lump of nervousness in her throat. Recounting her evening’s odd trajectory, the young girl struggled with the possibility she was now considering, that somehow, all of her hometown romp had been real, that Laura had been real. As that singular thought was processed, Emily felt that tingle from before, mixed with the uncomfortable anxiety was a small tinge of excitement. But as she scrambled to her feet, she dispelled the notion, it was preposterous, it had to be. There were a million and ten rational explanations for whatever was going on outside her apartment, and right now, Emily knew one thing. She needed to leave.

Her eyes darted around the apartment for her discarded clothing, making a scramble for her pants as if to preserve some essence of modesty before facing whatever dangers lurked outside when the world tumbled again. Emily tripped, her momentum carrying her across the slick patch of floor left soaked from her earlier debauchery, leaving the girl to slide into the large glass doors to the balcony.

“Fucking…” Emily croaked, more embarrassed than hurt as she turned over, picking herself up when the light outside the apartment dimmed further. She froze as the last of the sun’s soft orange glow faded, feeling a tightness in her chest as she cautiously looked up. She was right below the massive screen door to her balcony, giving Emily an uninterrupted look outside, seeing not just movement, but a shape to the disturbance, something so familiar yet so surreal and unbelievable. The world quaked, this time rumbling much softer as the entity outside shifted, glints of light pouring past as the Emily saw shoulders, auburn hair, and soon an enormous eye peering back into her apartment.

The feeling that overtook her was suffocating.

In an instant, Emily’s body tensed, her heart began to pound within her chest as her breaths became heavy.  The eerie silence of her apartment became a deafening scramble of static as her eyes, wide with shock, struggled to process the picture. She was real, Laura was real. Between the panicked panting, the lone girl’s mind raced, wrestling with the truth now too large to ignore. The Hazeldean bridge, her stroll down Hyde Street, all of it, could she really have done all that? As Emily grappled with these revelations, she expected to feel some kind of remorse for her actions, but none came. Instead, as the events replayed in her mind, she felt excitement, savouring the memories with a feeling of mischievous accomplishment.

The world trembled again, light pouring into the apartment as Laura moved out of view, continuing her curious inspection of the building. Emily sat up in a start, scrambling to her feet as she rushed for the door. She couldn’t let Laura leave, or worse, destroy the building without knowing that she was here, she had to make contact somehow, she had to get to the roof. Neglecting her discarded pants and shoes, Emily sprinted out the door and down the hall towards the stairwell, climbing the sickening steps several levels higher when the structure shook again. Grasping at the handrail, the determined girl winced, but remained steadfast and resumed her pace when the danger passed, anticipating the tremors to come. She couldn’t spare a second more, at any moment the entire building could come down upon her head, or worse, Laura, the very woman of her dreams could stomp off, ruining any chances Emily had at finally meeting her idol. She couldn’t let that happen, displaying alarming stamina as she bolted up the stairs, taking each new quake to catch her breath before she arrived at the access door to the roof and paused. Emily considered what would happen next, played the scenario in her mind, her heart pounding from the exertion and anxiety. Beyond this threshold was the manifestation of every desire Emily had ever known, a towering engine of destruction and beauty. She thought for a moment, wondering how Laura would react in the face of her controller, would she even care? Emily took a deep breath and pushed on the handle of the door. This was either the first step to realizing her dreams, or the last mistake she’d ever make.

The searing last light of the waning sun washed over her as she stepped onto the roof, the crisp evening air gently tickling her bare legs. Cautiously, Emily scanned the area, seeing nary a sign of the giant woman until the building rattled  and Laura rose to her full height. In awe, the smaller girl watched the monolithic figure dominate her view, blotting out the sun from the sky, a towering embodiment of beauty and power, more real than anything Emily had ever known. Anxiety shot through her system as she took the full picture in, marvelling at every aspect of her giant muse between the panicked nervousness and instinctual urge to flee. Laura was looking down, surveying the apartment with a perplexed look, taking another step around the structure. Emily braced herself as the footfall shook the world, then she took a step forward determined. It was now or never.

“Laura!!” She shouted, throwing everything she had to project her voice as far as possible. The inquisitive giantess paused, turning her attention to the roof of the structure when their eyes met. Like a deer in headlights, Emily froze, feeling the immense pressure that came with the gaze of the towering beauty before her. There was nothing to hide behind, standing front and center on the rooftop, the smaller girl was now the sole focus of Laura’s curiosity.

An amused smirk pulled across her enormous face as Laura realized what she was looking at. The man behind the curtain was no man at all. Here, on the rooftop of the enigmatic apartment stood her controller, an ordinary girl. The giant woman peered down at the girl silently, assessing what she would do with her new tiny friend. On one hand, Laura did not much like being a plaything for other people, even if the actions she was made to do were things she would’ve done on her own. With the connection severed, she was free to act on her own now, no longer a puppet, to this girl or to anyone else in this strange new world she found herself in. But as Laura considered her newfound freedom, she considered how she was freed. Somehow, this tiny girl below her was responsible for bringing her to life, bringing her here, for that she deserved some kind of thanks, right? After all, Laura reasoned, when would she find another person like this, one that seemed to share her giant-sized affinity for mayhem and mischief?

Her grin softened, a more tender smile taking its place. Watching with undivided attention, Emily saw this change of expression and felt herself relax, if only slightly. A giggle escaped Laura’s lips, it’s deep power vibrating within the smaller girl’s chest as the two shared this otherwise silent moment. The beautiful giant leaned in, bringing her enormous face closer to the roof as Emily watched in awe, as though a literal angel was descending from the heavens above her. Laura merely continued to smile her calming smile, her hand raising from its place at her side, carefully drifting over the rooftop. The smaller girl watched intently, knowing just how much power those hands held, but she felt no need to panic, no cause for alarm. Gently, Laura placed her open hand upon the apartment roof in front of Laura, giving the tiny girl a knowing nod along with her smile. Emily wasted no time. Understanding the gesture for what it was, she quickly clambered into her goddess’s waiting palm, savouring the soft warmth that radiated from the powerful hand. Slowly, she felt movement beneath her as Laura began to pull her hand up and away, the cool evening air rushing past. It all felt so surreal, so dreamlike as Emily’s tiny world below seemed to dwindle further and further as Laura, the embodiment of her deepest fantasies, raised her higher, until the two were face to face. They looked each other up and down, not a single word said as a silent bond was formed. Emily hooked an arm around Laura’s enormous thumb, the gentle giantess responding by giving her tiny passenger a delicate grazing with her digit. The two shared a giggle, then another quiet look as Laura smiled again. With Emily in hand, the giantess stepped away from the apartment building and began to stroll down the street. Together, the wayward pair of disparately-sized compatriots moved deeper into the residential sector, ready to bring this city to it’s knees.
