Chapter 1 by thatLittleDude

They always say sometimes you never know when lifes about to change, until you can only look back and remember how it was. This definitely feels like one of those times.

If you were to ask me what I was doing that last evening, at this point I don’t think I could even tell you. Probably a very normal evening, some video games, cooking food then going to bed. Just a normal Tuesday night. Or, I think it was Tuesday, not really sure anymore.

Next thing I knew I woke up on the floor of an apartment with nothing but some clothes and my phone. That probably doesn’t sound too bad, but i didn’t mention the most important detail, I was tiny. Like, proper small. Comparing myself to things I could find I was less than half an inch tall, a speck!

My panic turned into determination. Sitting on the wooden floor freaking out wasn’t going to help me that much I knew. I needed to figure out where I was, find something to hopefully eat. It took a while, but I began my exploration. The living room was a simple couch, coffee table, facing the TV. An hour long climb up onto the coffee table ended in disappointment as I discovered it was clean with nothing on it besides an empty soda can.

I sat down for a minute, at the very least it offered a higher view around and I could see there was a kitchen off of the living room. That seemed more promising, so I slowly climbed back down to the floor and headed that direction. At my tiny size everything took forever, and it was another 2 hours of casual walking to get closer to the kitchen. I could run, but until I had found food I knew I needed to conserve energy.

Crossing the open floor really drove home how tiny I was. Every direction was just flat nothing with mountainous furniture and walls in the far far distance. It was cool, but also terrifying. I could tell I was going to get better at walking if I was going to live long. After a long, and very uneventful walk the floor gave way from hardwood to some tiles, and I gazed around trying to make my next move.

I could see a countertop, with cabinets above it, I could make out some things on top of it, but not what they were, the table also looked like it had something on it, but was going to be a lot harder to climb, so I opted for the cabinets. Fortunately at my tiny size even smooth surfaces could be scaled, I wound up feeling like spiderman as I climbed up the wooden side, able to find plenty of grooves and hand holds.

At my smaller size it felt easier somehow too, I had rock climbed before but never this far, and found myself feeling lighter. Getting over the lip i collapsed onto the countertop. The climb was long and I needed several minutes to collect myself before I stood up and nearly jumped in excitement as it became clear it was worth it.

The countertop has some fruit in a bowl I could scavenge off of as well as a pop-tart that looked like it may have been opened and nibbled on already. Jogging over I was ecstatic to finally put something in my mouth and quickly grabbed a chunk of an apple. Satisfied after a minute of just straight gorging myself I headed over to the pop-tart and enjoyed some of that too.

Settling down onto the counter I decided I may as well camp out near the food for now, and spent the rest of the day trying to figure out what had happened. My phone had no cell service, there was wifi but I needed the password, so until I figured that out i was alone. Thankfully i had bought the crazy battery life model so as long as I wasn't using it a ton i had days of charge.

I still remember that first day, ingrained onto my mind. I spent the rest of the day exploring the house a bit more, still puzzled as to where I was, and how or why I got there. I spent a lot of time exploring in and under the living room. There wasn't a ton of interesting thigns, some very stale crumbs, dust. It was on my 2nd day though that I found something perplexing.

Underneath the couch, I found scraps of clothing. Specifically, me sized clothing. A torn shirt, and a single shoe as if thrown here, or maybe blown here. I had to double check I wasnt missing a show. Was I not the first? What had happened to them? For now they would remain mysteries.

Two days later I was sitting on the counter when everything changed. The faintest thud and the click of a lock as the front door started to open.

Setting up the story. Let me know what people think of the first person. I have gone back and forth on it, but someone that inspired a lot of this story thought it was neat so here it is. I may swap to third person though if people would like it better!

Chapter 2 by thatLittleDude

Thanks to some closed doors I wasn’t able to get into some of the rooms and there were very few clues in the  living room and kitchen as to who lived here. As the door opened, I looked up, excited to see that change

Going off of how clean the place was I had a feeling it belonged to a woman, or at least had a woman living there, but it wasn’t until she stepped in from the outside hallway that I could stop wondering. From a distance it was like watching a mountain move, but even that seemed insufficient to describe her size.

The door swung open, and a beautiful, towering woman walked in. Wearing some leggings and a t shirt I felt the ground shake with each step. Even from so far away and up on the counter each step[ reverberated through the house, at least to someone as small as me

Her brown hair swaying with each step, I backed up instinctively as she walked straight towards me. Did she see me? No, I realized that would make no sense, I was too tiny even large crumbs towered over me.Yet, as she walked closer her eyes were on the countertop, and I felt the weight of her gaz, it made me cower a bit feeling something so large move, and look in my direction.

She walked over and frowned, noting the food she had left open, and the small mess of crumbs I had made ripping pieces off of the pop tart. “Ugh,I need to stop leaving food out, especially if I am going to be gone for days” she said as she swept away the crumbs and threw it out into the trash can nearby. I was glad I had backed up, since her colossal fingers swept at where I had previously stood.

Pulling out her phone she stood there, looming in front of me as she typed something out, before heading towards the closed doors. I had assumed one was a bedroom, since there was no bed anywhere else, but wasn't sure which was which.

Deciding quickly that she was likely to be the key to my salvation, I leapt off of the counter and managed to latch onto her leggings as she passed the corner of the counter, riding along as she opened the door to her bedroom.

“She had a phone!” I thought to myself, and if I can just figure out how to contact her, maybe I can find a way home! Or, at least get her to help me somehow. I was determined to try, it was the only way.

As she stepped into her bedroom she sighed loudly and stretched as she did. Shaking herself as she stretched, I quickly found it hard to hold on and next thing I knew I was sliding down her leg towards the floor.

As I braced for impact I was surprised at how lightly I hit the ground. Up above I heard a booming voice, “That was a great trip” as she spoke to no one in particular. I looked up, craning my head as far back as it went, and yet I still couldn’t see past her waist, just barely making out the bottom of her shirt. She stepped away from me, letting me see the rest of her. I know I had said it back in the kitchen, but this woman was gorgeous.

Unable to look away, I watched, enthralled as she reached behind her back and began to pull up on her shirt. As her back was exposed, she turned to face away from me. I couldn't see much besides her bare back and bra, but I was so caught up in watching this mountain move I didnt even notice as she dropped her shirt directly on me, covering me in a massive canvas of fabric and throwing my world into darkness.

I panicked, crawling out as fast as I could, but I felt more clothing land on top of the shirt. From far above I heard her say “time for a shower” followed by her footsteps as she walked out of the room, and presumably towards the bathroom.

Chapter 3 by thatLittleDude

In the confusing darkness of her clothing it took me so long to get out that I heard her shower, the shower turn off and her footsteps as she came back into the room all before I could see anything.

Feeling the ground shake with each step I dreaded every second wondering if she would step on her clothing, possibly crushing me into the floor, a fate that fortunately never came. As the footsteps faded into the distance, I finally managed to make it out of the heap of clothes and out of the darkness.

Looking around, she was gone, probably back down the hallway, but I could see her wet towel on the floor, and the strong smell of strawberries permeating the air. She smelled so good, I couldn’t help but approach her towel.

Taking deep breaths of that wonderful scent, I also reasoned with myself, the water on the towel would be fairly clean, and water was hard to come by, another good reason I should head over there. Crossing the room wasn’t hard, but now that I knew she was home, any time in the open was a little nervous. Every so often I'd hear something in the distance, wondering if she was about to race into the room, and I would need to try to hide from her feet.

Arriving at her towel, I was pleased to find that it was pretty damp, and it was not hard to suck water out of the cloth. It felt…..strange, but I had to push those thoughts away. I no longer had the luxury of “normal” things, after all there was nothing normal about being a speck in the first place.

Several minutes went by as I tried to relax and enjoy this moment. The air smelled like strawberries, and I was filling up on water, no longer feeling thirsty. The towel was pretty comfy too. I began to get a strange feeling though, that feeling you get when you can somehow tell you aren’t alone?

I jumped up, looking at the door, getting ready to try and run away from wherever she was heading….but there was nothing. No giantess in the doorway, no booming footsteps. Was the feeling wrong? No…something was making me feel a little uneasy.

I looked around, but couldn’t see anything around the room, so I slowly began to circle the towel. But circling all the way around yielded no further insight. The feeling subsided as I convinced myself it must have been a false alarm.

Looking around the rest of the room, I wondered what I should do next. This was my first time in the room, and it felt like a whole new world. I could spend the day, hell probably days exploring everything. Out in the distance I spotted her bed, and the world of boxes, clothes and random items under it. That seemed like a place as good as any to start.

Approaching the dark underneath the bed, the first thing that struck me was…. It was a bit messy. I didn't get a gross dirty vibe from it as much as just clutter. A shoe box, some clothes, a stuffed animal, it looked like stuff fell or got tossed down here and just stayed here.

At my size dust was more noticeable and as I passed under the hanging sheet and directly underneath the bed, that's what I could sense and see in the carpet. Down here didn’t get vacuumed or cleaned very often. As Iw angered around in the shadowy realm, it felt like what I imagined exploring an apocalyptic city would feel like.

All around me towering items loomed in the shadows. I tried to climb up a shoebox, but found the walls too slippery, and the pair of discarded jeans offered little extra view from the top. Approaching the stuffy, I felt the hairs stick up on the back of my neck, that feeling you get when something feels…not right.

I looked around, it was dark, but i could still see pretty well, but there was just dark carpet and the same towering clutter. As I leaned down and climbed under the stuffed rabbit’s arm I tripped, having been too focused on the colossal pink bunny.

Looking down, I tilted my head, puzzled as I looked at something that felt very out of place. On the ground was a simple brown book bag, the kind you may sling over one shoulder and use at school. Only…my size. I picked it up, it was empty, but…what was it doing here?

I thought back to that arm I had found….was it possible I wasn’t the only speck trapped here? I had arrived in this place with my clothes and shoes, but no recollection of what I was doing before. Maybe if that happened to other people, things they had on them would have come too? I had my phone still after all, it just…didn’t work.

It seemed like it would be useful, so I slung it over my shoulder, continuing my exploration, I headed back out from under the bed to see what else I could find, or looking down at my bag, who else I could find.
