What a really interesting story. Really liking it thus far. You've got some really well developed characters. the colleague "Cathy" seems to be a bit of an enigma. Outwardly very friendly and nice but extremely sadistic to those she kills. It's almost like she hasn't considered that some might be innocent and believes all of them to be the most vile creatures that deserve it. Though I suppose that's the case with most of the Chevaliers

I think you're spot on with your perception of Cathy. The rhetoric surrounding the Shrink Penalty is exactly that- only the worst-of-the-worst, vile, disgusting criminals are getting it, so therefore there's nothing wrong with acting sadistic towards them. Whether that's true is up for debate, as Allison is now learning. Obviously, the Chevalier profession is likely to attract some sadistic characters as well. Makes you wonder why Allison is one, no?
