Paige doesn't need a good reason to inflict this cruelty.  That Jessica is Steve's ex is just an excuse.  I really liked that Paige's enjoyment of her domination is independent of Jessica's actions.  You did an excellent job of Paige deriving pleasure from simply imagining Jessica's perspective.  It takes empathy to be truly cruel.
