Wow, I didn't expect her to be so straightforward with her intentions, but it makes sense;
especially because while she's waiting for him to screw up she can get him in trouble with mom, and being nervous won't do him any favours.
If it doesn't spoil anything - is there a reason why their mom didn't become a SCO, or will it be revealed?
fwiw: from the previous chapter I guessed he would have to fear those socks becoming his new bedroom for a while, now I'm waiting to see if his mom can shrink him directly or needs to go through RIley, and if she can overcome that.
Not to mention who else Riley plans to involve - does he have an ex gf? :D

Indeed, whether it be lingering immaturity or just her cruel nature Riley wasn't hesitant to put the pressure onto Tom, knowing that she had nothing to lose doing so. Tom's anxiety over Riley's plan will definietly have an effect and cause some serious anxiety. Although it isn't their mom that she's trying to get him in trouble with, it is the government as they are the ones who have the power to shrink people. As of yet there's no particular reason that Michelle didn't become an SCO, her life just didn't go in that direction. But if I do think of a reason interesting enough I will add it in.
Mom can't do anything to shrink Tom which he is surely quite grateful for. The only way for someone to shrink (legally) is to be sentenced to such a fate and shrunken down by the Association. Other, shadier shrinkings will be explored eventually, but as an SCO Riley isn't interested in those methods.
I have some good ideas for what Riley's overall plan is, but I don't want to spoil anything ;) Tom doesn't have an ex gf, potential girlfriends often lose interest because of Riley's habit of humiliating him in front of them, a role that Michelle took over.
