Wasn't expecting that twist. I'm interested in seeing how they're going to fix Maxine if its at all possible. I wonder if Maxine will finally get the rest of the height she's been missing from her mother's side since she showcased having a lot of her height dorment last time she shrunk. It would definitely make things very interesting to have Maxine cope with being a giant if she ever gets her mojo back since she was already a bit insecure about her height especially since she's already been shown to be bigger than the rest of her family when unleashed. I wonder if Charles would care if she got that big again.

There's no way Charles is so clueless when it comes why Maxine is embracing him like that. I mean sure he's probably right about her trying to protect him but look at that smile lol. That can't be the only reason ;). Really enjoying the story so far, and I'm hoping there is more action on the way with the assassins starting to show themselves and whatnot.

Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Charles suffering a bit of a relapse, and Maxine putting her own disappointment and frustration to one side to make him feel safe and cared-for is lovely, heart-warming stuff that shows her development as a character and as a young woman. Her innocence about the everyday racism her fellow travellers face is well-observed too, as well as her ability to listen to and respect their explanations.
This has arguably been Maxine's least proactive chapter of the entire story, but instead it is her ability to support and supplement the group that has impressed enormously, as well as keeping a handle on her anger and both encouraging and protecting Charles, who clearly appreciates this enormously.
Can't wait for the next chapter...

I finally got caught up with this story, and I'm so glad I did. This story is simply fantastic! It took a little getting used to at the start considering that I had expected it to pick up with our previous protagonists. However, I'm so glad I stuck around because I've grown to really like the cast. I love the world building and character progression, and I can't wait to see more. Like her family, I'm really rooting for Maxine to already get romantically together with Charles, they're just so good for each other. Keep up the stellar writing!

How nice of Maxine to give him a choice. If I was Maxine, I would postpone that choice a bit more to make sure he wouldn't possibly be alone in a difficult moment like this. And knowing the "middle ages," living near Maxine probably still is one of the safest places on Earth.

I also really like the direction this has taken, it's a bit of a cliffhanger and Charles will have to rely on his wits to ensure he and Maxine don't get caught up in something terrible.

Will we see the girls' size limits? I'm mostly interested in the elongated one because I cant see her reaching it my herself. At some point balance becomes an issue so she would need support from one of her sisters.
