Nice story. Ideas? Maybe have the mother in high heels from her office job. Maybe this time burglars shrink to a half inch or inch in height. Some she crushes without seeing, some she thinks are bugs. They get purposely stepped on. What if she realizes that her alarm security works and that they are little men. You know after squishing some as bugs.
