I'm not sure if Maggie's proposal to help is for real (diplomacy backfire!) or she increased the quality of her trolling, but either is fine :)

I was about to write she should tell Ella and prank him about it on April the 1st if it weren't for Ella being away, but after he proposed to help Judy, I'm stuck thinking "what if Maggie finds out?"...

Oh, and it appears that Judy doesn't know about Ella; now that granting permission to see her is meaningless I wonder what she will come up with...

Author's Response:

One never can tell with Maggie. And you're right it's probably best that Scott keeps his offer to Judy secret

Excellent chapter. I really love the dynamic of Scott's changing mental state and how he's becoming more willing to serve his mother. Really excited to see the direction that goes.

Author's Response:

Scott does have his own motives here, but he is definitely also learning that sometimes appeasement is the best way to get what he wants.

To be cryptic: Sylvia does not appear in Shrink Act Files, but there will be more than one connection back to that story later on

For starters, Cambralart is mentioned at the end of the last story. Also, it's quite likely that Judy will meet Stand Tall at some point, and it would be interesting to see Scott meet Jack Arton.

I hope Scott takes Maggie up on her offer, but if he really wanted to avoid that then why did he make his offer to Judy? She has every incentive to spread that information as widely as she can, including to Maggie or anyone else looking to make use of him. It's certainly an interesting gambit on Scott's part... I enjoy the variety that Maggie brings lately, a good mix of play, tantalization , gentleness, and interaction, but still just as capable of playing the domineering brat of days gone by.

Author's Response:

You're right that it's a bit of a gamble for Scott, though in this case he has alternate motives other than just being a helpful son

A better America for all, also getting stockholm syndrome from being underfoot seems like one of those story avenues nobody has touched on yet oddly.

Author's Response:

It's something I've hinted at in other stories, but it'll have a little more focus in this one
