Excellent!

The Teen Titans not only get founded in a revised fashion (a la Cartoon Network circa the early 2000's). But, Cyborg becomes one of those founders!

Author's Response:

I never liked the 1980s comics Teen Titans characters created by Marv & George, much prefered the look, costumes, powers and charm of the original. Still I am a 1960s child.

It's always being said that Nature abhors a vacuum. Evidently, that's especially true of super-power vacuums!

Author's Response:

Such plots are designed to SUCK the readers in. LOL

Again, I applaud your impeccable research. One sad note, though. I just found out (from an "In Memoriam" article in the magazine called TV Guide) that Janet Waldo passed away back on June 12 of this year at the venerable age of 96. Out of her vast body of work, she was best known for being the voice of Chuck's sister Nancy on SHAZZAN..and (more famously) Judy Jetson on THE JETSONS. But, it's probably not as well-known that she had also been a guest-star on the legendary I LOVE LUCY series! In that episode, she had played Peggy, a teenage girl with a crush on Ricky Ricardo (while a teenage Richard Crenna had demonstrated a similar infatuation with Lucy Ricardo).

RIP, Ms. Waldo. You can finally stop jiggling Ricky's legs.

Author's Response:

yes, and thanks for your videos to my private email address. I saw that Lucy ep back in 1993, but glad to be reminded.

It was a shame that both of them had crushes on married Ricardos, rather than each other. That could have worked, with the Ricardos introducing them to each other. Or did it end that way further in? I can't remember.

My favorite Janet Waldo voices are probably Hawkgirl (1980s Superfriends shorts), Lana Lang (Filmation 1966-67), and Princess on Battle of the Planets, and one comedic role she had in a Squiddly Diddly ep, where she said, "Not now, Junior. Your father has flipped... I mean, he's not well."

Ooooooh! Does this mean we're going to see an appearance by the Filmation Teen Titans? I sure hope so!

As to the Jonny Quest reference? Not bad! But, it was the normal-sized headhunting Poho Indians whom Race once tried to convince he was their river god. The Brazilian pygmies were airplane-worshippers (similar to the South Pacific cargo cultists of the Fifties and Sixties).

I'm stumped as to who the mini-Caucasians were, however.

Author's Response:

I might have mixed the Quest eps up. I was going by my memory of late last year watching that documentary on youtube about the show. I haven't watched the actual eps for a number of years.

As for the Teen Titans, it'll be that team you like + Robin (whom Filmation couldn't use in 1967 because Robin was on the Adam West Batman Show).

As to how we get to their appearance (ie what makes it possible), well you'll have to wait for the twist I've worked in. Suffice it to say, it'll be more like "What if Hanna-Barbera had included the Teen Titans in their line-up?" or more pertinently, "Why didn't they?"

Impeccably researched, I must admit. And, since you seem to be striving for an ancient astronaut motif (even with relation to Shazzan's "powers"), I have to wonder. Did you ever read LEGION OF SUPERHEROES #266 and #267 from August/September 1980? I only ask because that featured a giant extra-terrestrial named Kantuu...who was released from imprisonment (within a magnetically sealed bottle!) on the 31st century planet Wondil IX.

Author's Response:

I think I vaguely remember that. I read all the LSH appearances from Adventure 247 to 2005 so far.

The genie plot won't be going any further, but in this story you'll see Luthor, Dr Zin, JLA, Teen Titans, Superfriends.

And you will get to see the Legion of Super-Heroes in my upcoming story THE JETSONS MEET THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES in about a week's time.

Nice conclusion. But, if you're not going to make the next story idea the plot of a sequel, I would seriously recommend you change the "yes" back to "no" with regard to completion.

Otherwise, you might confuse the lurkers who _aren't_ such long-time readers of your works. :-)

Author's Response:

I forgot that settng. Yes, I'll have to change it now.

Or, maybe Chuck and Nancy are really sort of like parole officers with a genuine genie who's now on the side of the angels.

Author's Response:

I guess I'd best not spoil the plot, except that it does have something to do with combining the concepts size differences and other dimensions. Although this time I don't think you'll guess it, mainly because it didn't even come to me until I'd nearly finished writing the story arc.

Next up: "Nancy The Belly Dancing Giantess." *

*I hope-I hope-I hope-I hope!

Author's Response:

There will be a gts in Ch 8 and some more in the 4 chapters I added (since saying I'd only have 8 chapters LOL) to my manuscript.

But no belly dancing so far scheduled.

Hopefully you won't be BELLY-aching about it, or about anything else you don't like in the story. LOL again.

You know, I always thought that "Tog" might've been the generic term Tor's people had for blue flying dinosaurs. Hence, their lack of surprise and/or suspicion that Tor and Mightor's "pets" had the same name!

Btw; I think Tom and Tub's pet was a fur seal.

Author's Response:

Well I think Tub is a great name for someone who spends all his time in the water. LOL.

I must confess, I initially confused Salamandro with Birdman's foe, the Constrictor. Probably due to the lizard-like image that springs to mind when I read the former name.

Author's Response:

They would have teamed up well against the heroes, if I'd thought of it. It turns out Birdman features heavily in the comic and I haven't seen Samson yet. So I'm glad I made mine different.

For some reason, even though I seem to have the right setting on giantessworld, I'm not getting email notifications about reviews.

Actually, Space Ghost met Chuck and Nancy when the Council of Doom briefly shrank him into the "Arabian Nights" dimension. Fortunately, Shazzan the Genie was able to use his white magic to return Space Ghost to the latter's own universe.*

*Btw: there was an episode of SHAZZAN where Chuck and Nancy met a princess named Jasmine voiced by Sherry Alberoni. The same actress who did Chief Pondo's daughter, Sheera!

Author's Response:

One will have to consider this review as a spoiler warning for when I covered that in a later chapter which hasn't been posted yet. LOL. The story builds on that very thing. As for why Space Ghost doesn't tell any of the others about it yet, you'll have to wait and see.

HPL: Howard Phillip Lovecraft. "Father of the Chthulu Mythos." His stories, about ancient extra-dimensional entities with tongue-twisting names seeking to re-invade our dimension, sort of bridged the gap between 19th-century Gothic horror and 20th century science fiction. Omnicron reminds me of just such a Lovecraftian entity.

I read issues 4-6 last night, and was surprised to see that the DC writers also (like me) had decided to send members of Quest team to the lost valley, and also developed a Mightor legacy concept there (or am I tipping off my own future chapters)? Anyway, thankfully my story still goes in different directions, despite a couple of similarities.

I mainly wrote this story for fanfiction and to entertain my own urge for more 1960s HB, but decided to incorporate some gts elements so that it could be of entertainment value here as well.

Hey-hey! Welcome home. :-)

I've been reading the FQ comic book, myself. And I like how DC/Warner has remained faithful to the original cartoons (most of which are or will be celebrating the golden anniversary of their original telecasts!) while simultaneously being innovative. For example: a female Impossible; Birdman's wings being solidified holograms (ancient astronaut tech from the "Tomb" of Ra?); and Mightor's club being as much a legacy as a Green Lantern power ring (in this case, going to an African-American adolescent who likes dinosaurs).*

As a late-blooming fan of HPL, I also like the Chthulu-esque plot device tying the adaptation of all these superhero cartoons, together.

*Who knows? Chuck and Nancy might even wind up getting back to Maine, once and for all!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have much (in the way of time or ideas) to bring to the table actually, that's new. Just 8 chapters of this and then a 4 chapter crossover set in the 30th Century called, "The Jetsons Meet the Legion of Super-Heroes".

I must be tired. What's HPL?
