I was kinda hoping you wouldnt pull the whole: "true love conquers all" thing to settle this predicament...I know Tucker wouldnt stand a chance in a bout to the death with Jess but he could have made some manuever that allowed him to attack the necklace that controlls her or something...it would have been more badass and intesting than the generic disney solution like we got. Other than that little criticism I DID enjoy the chapter! Im eager to read the (hopeful) asswhooping nostory gets next chapter!

Author's Response:

Well it would have been difficult for him to attack the necklace since he wouldn't be able to reach it. I have been hinting to a deeper connection between the two characters. You'll have to see what happens next chapter and BTW after the next chapter the story will take a temporary hiatus. I want to work on a BFG prequel story before continuing on but I will finish this arc.

Goodness me that came as a surprise, Tucker taking on Jessica in combat! The girl will squish him before he can even nick her ankle.

Author's Response:

Yep a great twist hopefully. We'll just have to see what happens when Tucker is forced to take on his colossal best friend.

A trial by itself will be fatal for dear Tucker, it'll be a kangaroo court with him as the casualty. He'll need some help from outside.

Author's Response:

Yeah we'll have to wait and see what happens to him.

WOW! Things got really hopeless in the blink of an eye!

Author's Response:

Are they too hopeless to recover? Maybe they are, maybe they're not.

Any resemblence to the real Nostory is purely coincidental, my dungeons are empty and my house is not staffed by tall women.

Author's Response:

That might be but you wish you had tall women as your staff.

Wow, Nostory is a douche so far! Not YOU, Nostory, the Nostory in this story...(Try saying that out loud 5 times).

Author's Response:

You think he's bad now, just you wait my friend.

Ah well, it was a clever trial but this felt too easy for them, almost too easy.

Author's Response:

Well the first trial would be easy and they did cheat a little to complete it. The makers of the trial didn't anticipate a giantess being inside the dungeon.

I think Jessica behaved well this chapter...Letting him fend for himself when it looks like he has a chance but getting involved when Tucker is put in an impossible to avoid scenario.

I also understand where she was coming from this chapter...Tucker could have been less insensitive when he told her to let him fight his battles. But like I said last chapter, she can't just put him in a suit of bubble wrap and protect him from the world all the time! (Well, technically, she could just overpower him and do it, but eh...)

Anyway great chapter! I hope Tucker and Jess will have less disputes from now on.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the feedback and maybe they will have less disputes but they will still push each other like many friends do.  Hopefully they'll both grow from this (Not in the literal sense of course, well maybe Jessica) and move on.

That suit of armour was just a lowly grunt and they already have problems with it, kind of like the difficulty of it, would not want our heroes to have it too easy.

Liked the argument Tucker had Jessica, conflict tends to drive the story and keep it interesting and I suspect this will not be the last of it.

Author's Response:

Oh yeah. I might have it like a game where they improve over the course of the quest (Like in the sense of levelling up). The armour was quite tough but nothing in comparison to what is coming.

Conflict does bring drama and makes the story more enjoyable to read. Maybe they might touch the subject again, maybe they won't. We'll have to wait and see.

I did like the way Jessica and Tucker interacted. Very interesting and stimulating. The way the armor came together was certainly easy to visualize.

One criticism is actually a bit of a nitpick. When Tucker and the Armor were dueling, you did not mention how hard it would be for Tucker to block a strike. If the armor is over six feet tall, probably would feel like a battering ram with every blow. Even in the most experienced hands it would be painful.

Other than that, I am very much looking forward to the next chapter. Nicely done.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the feedback and I'll have to remember that for later on since it won't be Tucker's only swordfight. He did dodge many of the blows but along the way he might get a little stronger with the sword.

To be honest, it didn't really seem like Jessica was needed here. Now I'm not saying what she did was wrong per-se (it was out of concern for a friend), but babying Tucker the whole journey cannot be good for their relationship...

Author's Response:

Yeah you're completely right there and it is something that will be highlighted very soon.

If Jessica didn't interrupt the fight, would Tucker still have been able to win? It looked like he could have. But I don't think Jessica would want her best friend to be a killer.

Author's Response:

Maybe not but Tucker still could have won without killing his opponent. Unfortunately the fight was ended before we could know for sure.

Looks like this theme of Tucker needing to prove himself may surface again, Tucker could end up doing something foolish just to show Jessica what a brilliant knight he is.

Author's Response:

Yeah that is the general idea. He doesn't like to think that he is dependent on Jessica to get him out of a bad situation.

And that's when Tucker had his left arm cut off, Star Wars style. Upset by the fact that her best friend was about t be slaughtered, Jessica grabbed the man's neck with both hands, lifted him two feet in the air and crushed his windpipe with her full strength. The man fell to the floor dead. The townspeople were scared shitless, so they decided to leave the town as pariahs, rather than heroes.

Ok, a little morbid, but that's (the closest thing this story can have to) a realistic ending for this situation. I think I'll like your ending better.

Author's Response:

Ok that sounds good, you might enjoy my resolution of the problem, you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled.

Lake Town? Any dragons around? Filling the air with Smaug? I kid but I hope Jessica can fend them off, kick their asses and knock theirs egoes down a notch or two!

Author's Response:

Hopefully she can, dragons can be very troublesome and they can come in all shapes and sizes from the size of a cat to those that dwarf even her.

I like this story. It's much MUCH easier to follow than the original. Tucker seems aware of his uselessness, so I hope he gets character development that makes him a better, more knight-like person.

Author's Response:

I have plans for Tucker and he won't just seem like a third wheel. He will show his true courage and valour during the series.

I am also a fan of naming swords. I am working on a story where the main character names the sword... actually that is a spoiler.

I do question as to why villagers would dislike Jessica so much. I mean, she is a pretty big economic boost to have around.

Author's Response:

They view her as a freak who is able to destroy their homes and livelihood with minimum effort.

Silence? Well I thought the woman would be but the trauma of being attacked by a bear can be too great.

Quite surprised to see Tucker's dreams of striking it rich are not welcome in Morgan, Jessica I can understand but his is puzzling.

Author's Response:

They see him as a dreamer who is more trouble than he's worth. None of them truly believe that he can actually find the treasure.
