Did we just gain a glimpse of the origins of Vincent and his powers?  This reminds me of other fantasy adventures, and I get the feeling Rebecca just tumbled into something that will have a profound effect on her.  They are really getting good in terms of story.

Ah, but that would be telling!  I will say that what happened in this chapter is just the tip of the iceberg.  Startling revelations are to come!
