I hate to be overly serious. But, aren't you afraid of being labeled a hypocrite, and an advocate of suicide (what with the sleeping pill bit)?

They were both going to die of starvation anyway, that's the thing. To paraphrase the Archbishop of Sydney, a man should pledge to give his life for his wife if the need arises, and she should pledge to submit to his authority. The true Biblical model for marriage. Sacrificial suicide is the very thing Christ did for us at the cross, to save us from eternal death, if we accept him. Won't force feed you a big spiel on that, but it's that example that the man is to follow in his marriage vows.

But I can see how the story chapter could be misleading.
