This segment is getting good!

Author's Response:

You might vaguely recall it from when I first joined in 2009. I posted just this segment (although it's retooled here) as "She got by with Help from her Little Friend".

(You liked it then too). All the rest from just after here to the end is completely new.

OOPS! Nearly forgot the rating.

Author's Response:

I tend to forget it most of the time. Silly me.

Ah! For the days when acronymic organizations had their own TV shows (with theme songs and puppetry by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson).

Author's Response:

Athough the main acronymn in this plotline is for the bad guys.

If this were a movie, there'd be an old-fashioned overlay of 4th of July fireworks during the kissing scene. Unless, of course, the movie was a Village Roadshow Picture. Then, they'd be Australia Day fireworks! ;-)

Author's Response:

You seem to know Australia better than me sometimes

Moral of the chapter?

Be "Werrings" of Sam's bearing gifts.

Author's Response:

And next chapter, beware of Ingrid's dining plans .... or just enjoy being part of them if you're Percy Dale.

Heh! Wouldn't it be something if Ingrid found and used that tranq-gun on Peter, now? ;-)

Author's Response:

Peter? You mean Percy? But she doesn't know about the shrinking device, or that he's the one she's been capturing at tiny size.

Sterling? No relation to that super Nemesis agent from THE CHAMPIONS, I hope. :-(

Author's Response:

Nope. I hadn't seen the Champions when I first came up with the original manuscript for the Smiling Island yarn.

The mountain might have a smiling lower lip. But, I sure hope Donna can manage a stiff upper one.*

*I've always wanted to use that expression! :-)

Author's Response:

Sounds like the sort of thing Roy Thomas might say.

Oops! My bad: I thought I was remembering a genuine Australian TV cop-show called "Blue Rats." Turns out I mentally amalgamated two _separate_ shows, by accident!

Maybe I was thinking of a "Blue Heelers/Water Rats" crossover @ Fanfiction.net?

Author's Response:

both were made by Southern Star, tho Heelers in rural Victoria and Water Rats on Sydney New Sth Wales city waterfront

Not bad! If this had been one of the 3 Stooges mini-mystery spoofs, I can just picture them harmonizing, acapella (and with the emphasis, perhaps, on "harm"), to this little ditty:

"Turramurra-murra.
Turramurra-mai!
Turramurra-murra.
Hush! Now don't you cry."

With apologies to the families of Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald, wherever they are. ;-)

Author's Response:

too right, fair dinkum u beaut Aussie likely, cobber

Ah, well, Canton! Easy come/easy go.

Author's Response:

Canton sticks around as a semi-regular support character. The Sneaky Spy saga has been drastically altered from 4 bks to 1 and a main character replaced with this version's Ingrid (for vore purposes).

The full original 4 bks are now on fictionpress [DOT] com under timescribe as Sneaky Spy Bk1-4. If you're lovin' the gts version, stick here and you'll see the best of it.

More like the Chief Rat (although not necessarily a blue one).

;-D

Author's Response:

Well if u mean dirty cops, The Sneaky Spy, though he did meet one in an old draft, wont find any in this version.

I was mainly referencing the sentence that began "Percy and the Wanderers remembered each other..." Although, if if I was thinly disguising any real-life band it would be Dion and the Belmonts.

"They call me the Wanderer.
Yeah, the Wanderer!
I roam around-around-around-around!"

Author's Response:

Brought to you by Cary and the Clangers. LOL

Ah! A teleportational ring. How brilliantly GREEN LANTERN-ish!

Author's Response:

Well the ring is just a homing signal, a bit like the one Lady Penelope turned on her finger to alert International Rescue in the Thunderbirds episode "Alias Mr Hackenbacker" It just sends a signal to the device to retrieve him by teleportation, and works even from within Ingrid's stomach.

This chapter is like REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE meets FANTASTIC VOYAGE (if one can picture 1950's Natalie Wood being as well-endowed as 1960's Racquel Welch).

Author's Response:

Yes, I alway wished Fantastic Voyage might go in the vore direction. The closest you get is in the 1968 Filmation cartoon episode "The Great Busby". The opening scenes where Erica shrinks Buzby and snatches him up and drops him into the box, giggling at his helplessness to resist are as close to giantessworld as the show ever got.

I'm sorry, but I just have to say it. That would make a great name for a rock group.

"And, now, right here on our stage...PERCY AND THE WANDERERS!"

Author's Response:

You'll have to give me the name of the real band you're sending up, for me to get the pun on this one.
