Quick update, guys: the first draft of the story is close to complete (finally ...). Once it's done, I'll start going back chapter by chapter and revising things. But I figured I'd post the chapters one at a time as I finalize them, rather than making you all wait until they're all all done (which could take a while, depending on how much I decide to change). So, look for the first chapters to start coming within a few weeks, and then (ideally) weekly or semi-weekly postings from then on until it's all up.

Sorry, but I can't. It's not arbitrary where I chose to leave off; there's stuff starting in Ch. 8 that ties in to the rest of the story and I feel I need to get it just right so it has the right effect I'm looking for. The whole story's been a very iterative process with constant rewrites and changes, and hopefully the end product will be well worth the wait, but until then I can't release any more until it feels right.

A commendable continuation. You're easily one of the most promising new writers I've seen appearing on the "most recent" page of late. Your writing skills are noticeably a cut above a lot of the riffraff that shows up on the site. The story is progressing slowly, which I admit has its drawbacks, but your craft is strong enough that you can definitely get away with it. It takes a lot of restraint to write a story like this without leaping headlong into the action practically before anyone speaks. From a technical standpoint, while I would perhaps advise you to spice things up a little with some action, or at least enough to whet reader appetites, you're a good enough writer that you deserve a healthy benefit of the doubt for the direction you're heading with this. What you have here is very well-constructed and certainly very enjoyable. Keep it up!

Much appreciated! Especially from one of my absolute favorite authors on the whole site.
For me, the journey is at least as good as the destination, in terms of seeing the characters' relationships slowly evolving, and building up more and more sexual tension while saving the best for last. So yeah, I definitely drag things out way more than most authors. But hopefully over time the scenes themselves will become more and more enjoyable and intense while at the same time building up a sense of anticipation for even better things to follow.
And you're right ... it takes a lot of restraint sometimes, having kickass ideas planned out for future scenes but often forcing myself to hold off for weeks until I get there in the story. It definitely motivates me to keep writing though :).

Good to know. Thanks for the honest feedback. I definitely do tend to drag things out. This story's going to be over 100,000 words for sure. But I'll try to focus as much as possible on the meat of the story and keep the rest of the content short. (relatively speaking...)

Yeah, well, if I really wanted to build up suspense, I'd post it in little half-scene segments here and there to keep you all on pins and needles. But waiting a few months to post, like I'm doing, is only gonna make people lose interest in the meantime, lol. But it can't be helped.

I've decided to hold off on posting any more until it's all finished. There's just too many things I may go back and tweak, because I really want the final product to be as good as it can be.
But I am writing nonstop. The new stuff yet to be posted is about as long as what I have posted so far. And there's still plenty more left to write. I can't say exactly when it'll be done, but somewhere in the ballpark of a few months. Sorry for the delay ... but I promise it'll be worth it.

I'm at a loss for words on how good this story is. Seriously. Most GTS stories revolve around unrelastic or unrelatable characters but I am really drawn into this.
I'm also REALLY hoping that Nick can achieve his catharsis and that this is all michelle's way of testing him....because as much fun as it can be to have him get stepped on, I would love to see this have a real resolve where michelle isnt so heartless. Despite everything that's happened (and yes, she has become pretty awful), I have faith in her and him.
The writing is superb...really hoping for a good ending for both main characters!

I was gone on vacation all summer and suddenly I have a reputation for updating slow. Go figure. I was posting more than once a week before summer started. lol, I just think it's funny, is all.
True, in the near future I won't be updating as frequently as I used to. I'm writing faster than ever, but I want to wait until more towards the end when it's more finalized and then post it in big chunks.
Meanwhile, hope you enjoy the rest of Ch. 1-7 :)
