Author's Response: Arte Johnson is a veteran character actor and comedian who's probably best known for his appearances as the "verrrrry interestink" German soldier on LAUGH-IN. The latter, of course, being a mostly counter-cultural TV variety show of the 1960's. And, that catch phrase was probably inspired by an almost-identical line uttered by German-American actor Paul Henreid in some WWII spy film from the 1940's.
