While I was critical of Charlie's choice of hide and go seek as a challenge for a couple's dating show, it was a brilliant choice for this chapter. It really let us see Kim's relationship with each of her fellow cast members. Her approach with catching each of them was different, as were their reactions to being caught.

Kim clearly loves that Monica enjoys how small and helpless Kim makes her feel. She's been playing with Monica for a while now, so her marveling at being able to pick Monica up one-handed feels like a natural progression. Kim feeling Monica up with her thumb was so fucking hot, too! And like a tease, Kim ends up cooling Monica off with that 10-foot drop into the pool.

The continuing inner conflict with Monica is so enthralling. She's terrified and wants Kim to stop, but she also loves it. Her hoping that Kim wouldn't listen to her and violate her is about the most Monica thought she's had so far.

It looks like Darren is sick of Kim being in charge of the relationship, and that played out here. Kim seemed legitimately playful and lighthearted with him at first, but Darren's annoyed attitude at being manhandled and forced into a kiss ruined her mood. Kim knows something is wrong here, which is why she asked Valerie to talk to him. I think it's interesting that Kim wants to preserve that relationship. I would think that staying on the show isn't an issue anymore with Charlie calling the shots. Maybe she's just frustrated at the prospect of being dumped again? She's trying to take control of her love life, and being rejected is the opposite of that.

Valerie and Kim are so cute together. In a different world, they'd be able to match together, as they have the most chemistry. Kim loves to play with Val, and Val is desperate to be played with. Cal not really hiding was fucking adorable! Unfortunately, the rules of the game, Kim's determination to get revenge for every wrong she thinks was done to her, and her insatiable sex drive combine to keep Kim from focusing on Val too much.

Jacob and Candace coming up with a plan together was awesome! It was never said that they couldn't work as a couple to get that date. But Candace being too scared of Kim to follow through fits her relationship with Kim so well, as did Kim pretending to be friendly but letting Candace know she hates her. Very well done here! And Kim dismissing Jacob's concern in the tree is pretty common for her at this point. I think Jacob just put himself on Kim's radar with that hard on, plus the sarilltisfaction that Kim would feel from stealing Candace's man like she did hers.

I came away from the Thomas segment thinking that Thomas has faded a bit on Kim's shit list quite a bit. He seems more like an annoying afterthought at this point. She liked chasing him and enjoyed dunking him, but she didn't seem particularly vindictive like she was when she made them compare heights every day. Thomas has benefitted a little from Candace being a man stealer and Aaron standing up for himself, it seems.

Poor Aaron. Kim is still hurting from being rejected by him. I know she got more physical with him because Charlie told her to, but her making him massage her feet made me believe her both when she said she missed him and that she could trust him enough to take him back. I think she really thinks he'd go back to her if he could. That ominous "I don't think I want you around anymore" was scary as shit.

It was sad to see Aaron so terrified. It was smart to hide by the out of bounds boundary. Kim really wanted to get him, though, which, again, shows how in her head he is. Reading him just saying and doing whatever it takes to survive made me feel so bad for him. I highly doubt it, but I really hope he finds salvation with that blinking red light.

But Kim was fucking fantastic throughout the chapter. I loved the way she took apart the railing to get Darren and was taking coconuts to the face from Jacob. Her playful approach throughout the chapter was so fun yet a little frightening, and I love that vibe! It's so unique!

Awesome job with this one! I'm on the edge of my fucking seat to see what Kim does next.

The opening couple of sentences from Pete's perspective to start the chapter do a great job of showing just how much being around Kim now can change people. Pete may have been a piece of shit (God rest his fictional soul), but he wasn't wrong about Kim (more or less literally) squeezing the confidence out of him. I just liked that we got a closer look from a different perspective of how Kim's growth has altered someone so close to her orbit.

And holy shit does Pete come off as even more disgusting than usual in that segment. He admits (to the reader, anyway) that he let Kim "become the villain" on purpose and only think she's gone too far because he doesn't like the direction the show is going. He doesn't give a shit about Aaron or his safety, lying about staff getting involved to help the cast with Kim, he doe the same about the purpose of the show in general (saying the point is to break hearts for ratings, basically), and even though I hate Charlie, the way Pete thinks of him almost makes me sympathize with Kim's production assistant (and that takes a lot to get me to do that, so you know Pete has to suck).

But it's also kind of sad, because both Aaron and Charlie are indirectly warning Pete about Kim, and his sexism just won't let him see it. And that cost him his life. Kim beat him in the battle for Charlie's soul, and that was the end for poor pathetic Pete. I do like the symbolism behind his death, though, falling from his perch above everyone else on the island, going from above it all to a victim of his own ignorance. Underestimating Charlie was a huge mistake.

Speaking of Charlie, his segment was masterfully written. I love how he's losing his mind and what it leads him to do. Not only that, but it flows nicely into the theme of the first segment with Aaron: the effect Kim's growth and newly developing attitude is having on those around her. Charlie is so scared of Kim and so desperate for some semblance of power that both the evil and sweet versions of Kim in his hallucination lead him to killing Pete. He sees the monster she could become, the monster he helped create, as well as the sweet person she used to be. Of course, because Charlie is scum, what he feels, aside from intense fear is a sense of opportunity instead of the guilt he should be feeling.

 And just like that, Kim inadvertently caused Pete's death without even realizing it. Fucking brilliant! Now, I wonder how she would/will react if/when she finds out what Charlie did and why he did it.

Also, holy shit was that Kim growth sequence hot as fuck! It makes me that much more excited for what might happen if/when Kim actually reaches some of those heights (didn't Pete say something about her being twelve-hundred feet tall? I'd be good with that!).

But back to the hazards of being in Kim's orbit, we see Darren already looking worse for wear the first time we see him on this chapter. He's got that huge hickey and already looks like Kim has sucked out his soul with her dominance. That checks out, too, as we saw her ordering him around last chapter, too. Between that and her intense sexual needs, I think he probably doesn't think less of Aaron anymore like he did back when Aaron told Darren he could take Kim off his hands.
I loved how Aaron stood up for Desy when no one else would. I think it was particularly brave of him, since he has had to deal with Kim the longest. But then again, maybe that's why he did it. He couldn't stand to see her pick on somebody else like that, and that's why he demanded that Kim stop without worrying about what she could do to him. I don't think it was the desperation that Kim thought it was, although it fits her perception of the breakup to think so, I think.
And I immediately liked Aaron and Desy as a couple. You wrote their wordless chemistry quite well and maximized the limited dialogue between them as well. Not to mention that Aaron is one if the more likable characters in the story, in my opinion, so I'm always pulling for him!
Brian's paranoia of the cast's reaction to Pete's death show that he's a veteran reality show host. Or maybe it's just this cast he doesn't trust. But I, too, wonder if Kim's tears were real. If so, I go back to that question of how will she react if/when she finds out what Charlie did.
But Aaron's reaction, that ... that was real. And sad, too. His one chance at salvaging this thing, of feeling safe, fell 80 feet down a cliff. And even if he could have still gotten off the show, that instant connection with Desy surely would have kept him there. He'd have worried about her if wasn't there, too.
I should have known Charlie was playing by Highlander rules. He killed Pete and then immediately swooped in for his power. The production discussion and vote were fun. I love how the med team was like "Nope" about Charlie's Kim pitch!
Of course Brian cast the deciding vote for team Kim (what Charlie represents). I get his rationale, trying to be relevant again, but he clearly saw that there was something wrong with Charlie. I think his attraction to Kim back in the first segment in the story back in chapter one played a factor as well, even if he didn't say it outright.
Lastly, I'm loving Kim as an emerging villain! Her turn from sweet and lovable to dominant and uncaring has been paced so well, and I feel like Pete dying is going to lead to a critical moment that will probably accelerate her descent into darkness. The way she just picked Desy up, ignored her begging to be put down, and taunted everyone was haunting. There's just something about the way she goes about everything that has a cloud of darkness hanging over it.
Another great chapter! I'm really interested what a Charlie-run show looks like next chapter.

Oh Aaron, those words are going to haunt you, especially with the way Kim has been acting recently.

You know, despite him not being mentioned once in this chapter, I thought about Charlie a lot as I was reading it. Seeing Kim fully embrace her dominance streak had me thinking about what might have been had the production assistant not encouraged her to give into those urges she's having. What if she had come back to the room, to Aaron, at the start of the chapter as vulnerable as she had been on the beach with Charlie, just like Aaron expected?

Maybe Kim would have still gone full domme and kept treating Aaron more like a thing than a boyfriend. But perhaps they would have had a talk about the struggles they're having with her size and how unsafe everyone feels around her. Maybe she would have decided that she didn't want to be viewed as a monster and would focus on trying to be safer and not taunting  her housemates. Maybe, just maybe, Aaron would have helped her find a way to satisfy her urges without making him fear for his life.

So thank you, Charlie (is it possible to be both sarcastic and sincere at the same time, because I think I just did it).

Kim was ridiculously hit throughout this chapter. From slamming Aaron against the wall and shoving her tongue in his mouth to pretend sleeping as she rolled on top of of him, she was dominant in a way that was as playful as it was ominous, which is a really hard vibe to pull off.

And the she made him into her own living sex toy, even at less than twice his size, was incredible! She treated him more like a thing for her to use than a person, and his feeling that complying is just easier kept things consensual yet hopeless. The fact that she thinks she can manipulate him sexually also shows that she hasn't crossed that line yet.

But that ending for the chapter, when Kim went from being in total control to Aaron snatching it away (in an emotional sense) by saying the words that would end it, holy shit! She obviously didn't take well to that, as she wanted to be in a relationship where she called all the shots, and I wonder how close she came to seriously hurting him out of anger. We already saw how hard she went just when she was getting him off; I can't imagine how far she'd take it actually trying to di some damage.

You described the size difference between them so well and quite vividly at that. I could really visualize how much bigger than him she is!

It has been quite fun (and kind of tragic) seeing Kim go down this dark road so far, especially with all the off-ramps she's missing along the way. I'm excited to see where things go from here!

In your response to my last review, you wondered if my dislike of certain characters was making the story less enjoyable. It's actually the opposite! To me, any character that can make me feel something, good or bad, is interesting, and it shows that I'm invested in them o e way or another.

I just wanted to clear that up.

As for this chapter, my first thought is that Charlie is really going to regret his actions later on. He's in a unique position from which he can see how Kim's personality is evolving (and in some ways, he has even helped shape it), and yet he keeps pushing her to be more extreme rather than trying to dial her back (even when Pete tells him to). He knows her so well, but he won't do a damn thing to stop what's coming, so convinced that he can handle her. His selfishness makes him a good ignorant villain, but the way he tries to convince himself that all of this is for Kim's  benefit makes him that much more hateable.

Kim was starting to have doubts, and he had a real chance to get her to be a little more considerate of her castmates and fight that need to dominate them. Instead, Charlie pushed her to lean into those feelings so that he could cling to her fir power. Deep down, he knows he can't control her anymore, but he refuses to accept it. All he really did was affirm Kim on this darker path she's going down.

But that part at the end of the scene when Kim puts him in his place was fantastic! I love how she transitioned from thanking him for "helping" her to letting him know that she isn’t going to be his puppet anymore. And the danger he felt from such a subtle gesture as she was explaining this to him was so well portrayed here.

Kim is also expanding who she uses her power to humiliate. Up until this chapter, it was mostly Thomas that she set out to embarrass, at least on purpose. Using her legs to trap Monica, though, was not only the hottest part of the chapter, but it marks the first time a sober Kim negatively went after a cast member other than Thomas so directly. I wonder if part of her reason for doing this to Monica is the shorter girl's attraction to feeling small, which Kim would have known about from last chapter. That makes this not entirely a dick move on Kim's part as Monica was right when she said, "It's complicated."

This makes me wonder if she's limiting her antics to people who she feels deserve it and people who she thinks are into it (although it sounds like Aaron is about to drop out of the latter category soon, if he hasn't already).

Pete continues to be terrible. Always passing the buck and expecting his production staff to clean things up. Also, I think his line, "Who approved that" for Kim's "new character" sums up reality TV better than anything else could.

Also, I love how Candace assumed Kim broke Cedric's leg just to get back at her. The paranoia has already begun! Even though it's so different from Growing Closer, I'm liking the darker vibe this story is starting to take.

The way Kim put Candace in her place just by standing up and teasing her a little was a fun scene, too.

I really, really like Valerie as a character. She's fun-loving and legitimately wants to help everyone. The way she tried to play peacemaker between Candace and Kim was so sweet, and her frustration at Kim was reserved enough to have her feel like Kim's closest friend without being a blind yes person.

But Kim's allure is too strong for Valerie. That little moment they shared at the end buokt some anticipation for me. We have to see Kim ravage her at some point! The way Valerie tried to pull away and Kim wouldn't let her, but Valerie didn't t really want to pull away anyway really drew me into the scene.

I'm loving the direction this is going, and I'm looking forward to what Kim gets up to next!

I just finished reading chapter 2 and 3. Now that I know this story is told from multiple POVs, and I'm familiar with the cast, this story has been immensely fun. I love the somewhat slow growth process, and Kim's mind wrestling with her transformation. Monica enjoying, not only the size, but Kim's show of force was great. I love the little personalities from everyone, and how they react differently to Kim's growth.

I'm really excited to see where this goes next!

It's incredible just how negative an environment a reality show can be for a growing giantess!

I don't mean that in the sense that Kim is being judged for her growth or that it's making things difficult for her on the show, but the people influencing her are leading her down a far darker path than any of them realize, I think. Charlie is the worst offender here by far, but Valerie and even Thomas enabled some pretty shitty behavior on Kim's part as well.

When I started reading Charlie's perspective in chapter one, I was kind of thinking I was going to like him. I've been feeling that way less and less with pretty much every line from his point of view ever since. In this chapter, he was pretty disgusting, at least to me. Kim was actually starting to come to terms with some of the real consequences her growth could have on her if it continued, and he "helped" her through it. Aside from the fact that his empowerment lie was just a way to brush aside the reality of her situation, he wasn't even really doing it for her sake. He just needs her to stay confident so he can continue to be a critical player behind the scenes of the show.

Unfortunately, steering Kim deeper into her love of the power she has over the smaller island residents is most assuredly going to come back and bite, if not him, somebody (or many somebodies) in the butt well before the end of the story. Embracing that feeling of using her size to get what she wants out of people, without really caring what they think, is almost guaranteed to lead to bad things for everyone but Kim in the chapters ahead.

And before I move on to Valerie and Thomas, I wanted to note that I thought it was a very bad sign for Kim and Aaron's relationship that the line that got her to really go for Charlie's argument was about Thomas's reaction to her continued growth down the road. Him saying that fired her up, but she didn't even think about Aaron's potential reaction at all. Not only is she partnered with Aaron, but he's also into this, so if she really cared about him, you'd think she would have thought about that instead of getting excited over rubbing her size in Thomas's face over and over again.

What Kim did to Thomas in Thomas's segment also made me feel this way. Kim is still too focused on fucking with Thomas to make me think she's the least bit serious about Aaron. She's just keeping him around because she wants to stay on the show and she needs someone to let loose all that horny energy on. I mean, she probably likes him at least a little bit, but not nearly as much as fans of the show would likely believe as they were watching this portion of it.

Now, Valerie and Thomas both enabled Kim in her bullying of Aaron. She was embracing that power that Charlie told her to when she tried to make Aaron drink, despite him rightly refusing to do so (trying to keep up with Kim could have led to some serious consequences for her, given her size). In fact, no one took Aaron's side when he spat the alcohol out and left. Valerie was just trying to take her friend's side when she used the excuse that "he said dare." And Thomas's ego jumped on the opportunity to put Aaron down and pretend like he would have faired better by taking that swig of whiskey after the fact.

These reactions were bad because Kim briefly considered that maybe she had crossed a line. If someone would have been honest with her, she might have realized that she had and maybe went to apologize rather than get more wasted and make Aaron eat her out like nothing was wrong.

And Kim's dismissive attitude toward Aaron's complaint reinforces all of the above. Aaron couldn't do anything about (like she noted Thomas couldn't about her teasing him about her growth), so she didn't worry about what he had to say, outright ignoring him at first. That also showed how little she actually cared about him as a person, as even a power-hungry person would at least care a little about what their loved ones have to say about things like that. Lastly, it displayed the consequences of that enabling at the fire. His complaint wasn't a big deal because, whether she actually remembered it of it was a subconscious thing, everyone else assured her that she was in the right and that Aaron was being a baby.

All of this is going to lead to an uncaring, dominant giant Kim who will likely feel no sense of responsibility for her actions in the long run. Or at least that's what I'm predicting.

And let me just say that, much like I noted several times in Growing Closer, your descriptions of the smut in this chapter was spot on. It was so easy to picture those scenes between Kim and Aaron in the bedroom, both at night and even them both getting themselves off in front of each other in the morning. You also convey Kim's scale compared to him quite well in that last segment.

Poor Lauren. For a second, I thought Thomas really was going to go for her. I will say that Monica seems really fun, though. And the fact that she both likes to feel small and seems a little obsessed with Kim makes me think we'll see some fun between the two of them before the story is done. How fun would it be if Kim stole Thomas's boyfriend on top of all the "size hazing"?

As for Thomas himself, he's giving me some serious Jake from Growing Closer vibes. I didn't think I'd like him at first, and, unlike my initial feelings on Charlie, I was spot on with this one! Not only is his general thinking kind of gross, but the way he has jumped from girl to girl so quickly makes him really unlikable.

Him being intimidated by Candace being only slightly shorter than him in heels was kind of pathetic, but, I have to say, it was a bit hypocritical of her to push him aside so quick for it. Whether he meant it or not (and we know, based on his own words, that he didn't) Thomas had been reassuring her about her own insecurities for a whole week. So it seemed pretty shitty of her to move on to the next guy at the first sign of him being insecure about something. They're both kind of shitty people, I suppose.

I really enjoyed this chapter. We started to get to know more about the larger cast, there was some good smut at the end, the reality show portions were fun to read, and, most importantly, we got a lot of insight into how Kim's thinking is being influenced, which, again, I feel confident in saying is hugely foreshadowing for whatever is to come.
