Very descriptive style and I like how you take us into the deep psyche of the characters. It really adds to the immersion and the reality of what life would be like as an insole.

Another great chapter. You’re really good at exploring and describing the psychology, I would have liked to seen the wife’s internal processes here. I like the idea that her decision to shun him was less a conscious act and more of her mind almost breaking from the shock of his return and defensively choosing the person she’s mourned with for months.
Also, if you’re still having trouble knowing where to take it, I’d love a chapter from Delaney’s POV

Maybe the last chapter of the story is her sneakers / insoles are completely worn out, and it's time for replacements. She could tease him about possible other things she could transform him into (a thong, a bar of chocolate, etc.) before ultimately just deciding she wants him as the new insole of her next shoes.

Maybe he escapes only to get stepped on by Alexis and unawarely dragged into her shoe since He’d be stuck to her foot! Than maybe eventually Alexis notices him and after he explains what happened, she goes to confront Delaney only for Delaney to transform Alexis into a living insole too for her other foot. So they make a “pair” and they both suffer in human/insole foam bodies that are made of Delaney sweat and stink, so Alexis like Chase only cries and vomits Delaneys footsweat, but at least she’ll technically be with her husband again!

Will be interesting to read how Chase fares as Delaney's' insole of her well worm sneaker.

Phenomenal story, especially for a first TF story. I hope Alexis borrows her sister's shoes at some point.
This set up with the "fusion" is so interesting, would like to see someone fused with other things. Like a person turned to living gum, or maybe into a silver pendant or piercing or something.
