I think this is a great time to bring this character into the loop of the story. Really, perfect timing.
When I read about him being the foundation for the DNA my first thoughts were the abilities we see Jacob and Annie have obviously should be derived from Alec's ability and we are only seeing it manifested in part within each of them. I also read that the DNA used for Annie and Jacob were not an original strand but derived from Blaire.
I think of it in terms of Alec is ground zero and Blaire is secondary while Annie and Jacob are third generation. This makes you wonder what the ability Blaire may have because we should assume at a minimum Alec has the ability to Shrink himself and others as well as grow himself and others, We see he has the ability to read and witness others lives, not only the victims but everyone on the planet.
I think Jacob and Blaire has picked up an alternate version of this as they are able to see the victims through dreams. I also am wondering really what other abilities Alec has that we just don't know of yet. There could be infinite number of abilities out there especially if he is Ground Zero.
I could see Blaire having multiple abilities outside of what Annie and or Jacob has as she was created with an unaltered pure strand of his DNA unlike Annie and Jacob who had altered DNA inserted into them. Blaire could have many abilities and she just doesn't understand them yet. Her purpose in this story has now risen to the highest level.
It will be interesting to see if Alec does get directly involved and if so how.
Also there are many questions of the origin of Alec, is he supernatural or alien
I have been trying to keep my review as vague as possible as I was not wanting to spoil any other readers perspective when they read the story. But my mind is racing through the possibilities as I read the story.
You have created a wonderful story that has so many potential twists and turns that must be hard to keep track of.

It's definitely getting there, I'm constantly replaying the facts in my head to make sure I don't miss anything!
I love seeing your breakdown and honestly I am very excited to finish this story and finally unveil the grand scheme of it all!
As for Alec, his introduction is vague on his origin for a reason. While this book will focus on the main cast so far, Alec will be a fantastic lead in for a book 2 or volume 4 of Nefarious!
I won't spoil anything yet, but I'm already planning Nefarious 2 lol.

First, a very interesting chapter name. This makes you wonder what is in store for us as we navigate through this landscape.
Again, the opening of this chapter is amazing and solidifies why you just can’t assume you know where the story is taking you. Your ability to keep the reader on edge is uncanny. When the reader thinks they have it figured out and know where things are going there is this unexpected twist. Tantalizing the reader with just enough information to keep them intrigued with the protagonist ever changing.
And there it is I was on to something in the previous chapter and things just got even more interesting. Now my mind just wonders how Jacob will react when and if he ever finds out who the people were that did those horrible things to Annie and him.
Reading further and now we have discovered the individual that is the ultimate foundation for how Jacob and Annie became who they are. Now we must ponder who this individual is and what are their powers and what is their role in this society. It seems at the onset this individual is more or less the keeper of good.
Again wow! I didn’t even expect Blaire’s mother to be the person she is that was another curve ball. Is she just an older version of the demented Deita?
Again WOW! This new individual is the actual hero in all this evil nefarious world we find ourselves in. There are obviously some limitations or rules for lack of a better term. He just can’t show up on everyone’s doorstep and save each victim. I would assume we will find the answer to these reasons as we move forward through the landscape of this story.
OMG! Again, now we know more about Blaire and who she really is. Does she know her true beginning? Now we wonder why Jinshin is so important and why Alec wanted them to meet? At the beginning I was thinking it was to save Ben and Liz but there are deeper reasons than just saving those two poor victims. There is something important about Jinshin that we don’t know just yet. It seems you alluded to at the end of this chapter Alec has been directly or indirectly involved with characters in the world like a chess board to maintain or keep the balance between good and evil. That is just my take on the last sentence in the chapter. I may be way off on this analogy but that is why this story is as intriguing as it is, you just never know where we are going until we get there.

Originally this chapter/character introduction was going to be much later, but I couldn't think of how to tie it back to earlier chapters so decided to move it to the more fluid portion of the plot.
Chess board is the perfect analogy for Alec and his abilities. It very much appears he is 5 steps ahead.
As he told Grace... "I know everything, darling."
Here's some food for thought, if Jacob and Annie's powers are originated from the sample of Alecs DNA as was mentioned, does Alec have both of their abilities combined?
Furthermore, now that we know the horrifying reality of what Blaire is... Is there potentially some latent ability of her own, of which she us wholly unaware? Or is there another purpose for her uncovered origin?
Needless to say, will be interesting to see what happens once Alec finally gets involved, if he does at all, his motives appear to be focused on undoing the damage of the original Project Genesis that utilized his DNA.
