Considering about the crowd thing, and with how cruel things could be getting, some cult or club or rich couple could ask instead fir the shrinking as a service, they bring some set people and have them shrunk. The cult could set up a comparably small compound for the shrunken followers, with tiers of tinies, while the nomral/big leaders get to enjoy them. They might even be delusional enough to think their in legit heaven or paradise(plus with the right setup they could still do some real work and bring in money). Or in a terrarium. Or just straining them out in some garden or forest, then hunt or have an enter tiny tribe/village setup that worships them, mostly normal hiking/woods cloths combined with Sorel Cate the Great Wedges is a good aesthetic.
And in the couple(s) idea, one wants so be small, or got tricked by one or twi others into thinking/agreeing to it, and they now have the shrunken person. Maybe it also to permanently disappear, maybe it so they are permanently disappeared.
