I'm realizing that the parts I've basically only read once happen to be those with Alex, I'll need to fix that... oh, and there's at least Mara Romero Borella as a RL example of an Italian Romero who took the surname from a Spanish parent.

Anyway, misc notes:

right before "Katie picked up the sizer" there's an opening quote by itself, botched copy&paste?

"thoes" things

"He just existed in the background until Katie" - verb?

I'm still trying to come up with theories on who Sofia is and how he ends up with her...
