OOOOOFFFF what a climax!! Maaaan your storytelling skilz are so top notch. Carmen is definitely one of your most realized and addictive characters ever and I love how much of her fighting the big bad felt like her finishing the fight with her own fear and resentment too. Loved it! I'm still calling this your best story since Abduction although Champion of the Goddess keeps growing on me (forgive the pun lol).
Author's Response: Thanks! My intent with the final confrontation was pretty much what you said, it's not just the final fight with Arisu but with her own demons. We've got a couple chapters of wrap up left yet, but Carmen has come through on the other side of her various battles, physical and otherwise, as the victor.

Absolutely loved these last couple of chapters. I’m especially loving the combat between valkyries. You do a wonderful job making the confrontations more than just a simple fight between regular people and more of a spectacle between these titans.
I’m very much hoping for a melee showdown between Arisu, Melinda and Carmen. Maybe with Juliet in the mix getting her ass beat too

My goodness, you've managed to top yourself. Of all the stories you've composed, this possesses some of the best character dynamics I've seen (with one caveat). In particular, the villain, Arisa, really drives the story and conflict in ways where I want to keep turning the page, as a matter of speaking.
I believe I've gotten a sense of the central conflict here, you've managed to tell everything about our main villain without saying anything explicit, which is a rare skill. When (or if) she and Melinda butt heads with each other again, that will reveal much that I've been waiting for.
The relationship between Carmen, Kyle and Samantha came along quite nicely, but this is where the caveat is. I do like how it took a little while for Carmen to get over her vitriol towards the two, and I really like how you portrayed such vitriol. She has all the power in the world over them to enact her vengeance, but it turns out she truly wished for something different. The recent revelation that all her friends were as depraved as she was, even encouraging her bullying (although we saw a bit of that in the first chapter) might explain as much. But, so far, I like how her transformation has been portrayed.
The uhhh, intimacy of their relationship isn't particularly my cup of tea, although that's because I tend to lean towards more ... let's say ... exclusive relationships. I wonder if you're going to play it off as Carmen's so affection-starved that she kind of latched on to the two to compensate, and in the end, she pulls back for a more platonic understanding. Still, it's one minus (for my own tastes mind you) in a sea of pluses)
I have a feeling that there are going to be parallels between Melinda and Arisa's relationship and Carmen and Kyle/Samantha's relationship, but that's because I'm actually George Lucas, and it's like poetry, it rhymes, every stanza every beat and it's so dense. This story of yours has been a very Special Edition (or addition) to your collection.

Well to use the Star Wars parallels you might say that Arisu and Melinda had a very Anakin/Obi-Wan style falling out, some of Melinda's worldview and mannerisms are still there in Arisu, her twisted sense of "helping people" or her use of Melinda's favorite Latin phrase, more of that will get revealed by the end of the story.
I'm glad you liked the story overall, even if the harem or FF/m angle isn't your cup of tea. I wanted to try to write something with a bit more depth and a bit of angst, like I said at the start I wanted to go a bit more serious than my other stuff. The story is obviously building to a head, I really hope you enjoy the upcoming conclusion!

Love this chapter for two main reasons. First, I was feeling so bad for Carmen. It’s not like she’s blameless, but she is a perfectly likeable protagonist and it’s tough to see someone grappling with those sort of introspective emotions, despite how heathy it is. So obviously I don’t expect them to all be best friends now, but it seems like a good bit of healing was done in that bedroom.
Second, when Carmen offers a spot in the front of her panties and a spot in the back, having Sammy immediately claim the front is a spectacular moment. Kyle holds try to his nature and begins to complain, but Sammy is along for the ride and inadvertently earns her husband a quick trip to Carmen’s ass. A small moment, but one of my favorites!

Author's Response: I'm glad she's a likeable main character, obviously the three are all on better terms now, even if things aren't 100% where they could be. Also yeah Sammy realized right away that they're on the ride lol, a nicer Carmen is still Carmen and if she says one person's going in the front and one in the back you call your spot.

Good chapter, Carmen has now saved their lives twice has to count for something I'd think! It really seems like Carmen was just too stubborn to sit down and think about how she acted as a kid. She hasn't actually done anything awful to the pair since the reunited - and I think the near death experience of losing them in the cold maybe helped put per previous epiphany into perspective.
Hopefully the next few chapters for our trio are a little warmer. Surely they have a bath big enough for the 3 of them!
Author's Response: The relationship between the three is on the mend, though there are obviously other problems waiting in the wings. Carmen is scared of baths, but she'd probably shower with them lol.

Thanks so much! Allison's world and this one aren't the same, anyone who has read enough of my stories has figured out that I'm pretty shameless about reusing concepts, and in my defense I'll say that Stephen King sold 3 evil car stories that I can recall lol. Allison might be considered a "prototype" of the Valkyrie idea, she's definitely not amazonian, and her shrinking powers are way beyond anything even Melinda could do, I suppose if you wanted to try to reconcile the differences in worlds you could say that Allison (and Sadie by plot) were early adopters of the Valkyrie genes, and after The Lab got busted Melinda's husband used their research to develop the Valkyrie gene therapy. I'm not 100% sure it's a good idea for a crossover though, I'm trying to go a bit more serious than usual with this one and Neighbor Girl is still pretty lighthearted, even with Allison's darker impulses.

Anyway speaking from personal experience a lot of times we have memories from childhood or early adulthood that are just sort of "stored" and we don't really properly analyze them until years later and then we realize how messed up some of them were. That's kind of what I was going for with Carmen, like it's not so much that she forgot how she treated Samantha and Kyle as it is that she's never really stepped back and pondered those memories through an adult's eyes. Suddenly the narrative of her "revenge" no longer makes sense, as they said, she realizes she was and has been the asshole.
