Thanks for the review I'm glad you're enjoying it.
As for inspiration, there isn't any particular story. I do like stories where love prevails despite setbacks and I liked the idea of someone having loved, lost that love, and refinding it but his lover being this monster that he finds kinda offputting at first.
As for something similar? I'm not really sure. I guess there is an XCOM story on AO3 called "Chronicles of the Resistance - Caretaker" which features a giant Viper. I wouldn't call it similar other than it features a giant reptilian woman.

I've felt like this was where the story was going for a while. I'm very interested to see the upcoming developments and conflicts finally play out though.
Will Gemma be another green deathclaw?
How will Drew's friends react to his growning bond with the green deathclaws.
Wondering if Drew and his friends will be overwhelmed by some other threat in the area and the deathclaws may ultimately help them.
Anyways can't wait to see how these questions are answered.
Also just the general vibe of this story is great. The green deathclaws are portrayed as naturally dangerous and scary but their intelligence and compassion is still there with them.
