Amber is a bitch, but so is karma

Absolutely outstanding story! Rare to see something that can seamlessly incorporate an engaging plot with the kinky stuff. In the future, would be amazing to see a spinoff in this setting. Would personally love to see something exploring the lives/backstories of Warren and Deandra or Charles and his wife. The overseas black market could also make for an interesting spinoff

Author's Response:

Like I said I'm not opposed to revisiting this world but I don't know what that would look like, maybe an anthology or some one shots. Glad you liked it!

What a great 12 months.

Seeing Eve go from a tiny hater( mostly because she was a follower a good chunk of her life) to slowly falling for one months later and then finding her own footing and confidence along the way makes this worth the read alone.

I liked that despite harboring feelings for Evan, Laurie was respectful enough to let things be when the feeling wasn't totally mutual with Evan. She also makes one hell of an ally to have in your corner.

I honestly figured Eve would subject Amber to do an "apology tour" which would include revisiting the spa they went to.

But seriously though, go rest. Your fingers have to be tired from the constant back to back uploads of chapters.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading, glad the character arcs worked well, it's got me a little down saying goodbye to them lol.

And yes I'm resting lol, I've got some ideas but I'm taking a few days off before starting any new ones.

I said most of the things in my previous review, but once again I have to say I loved this story! the pacing was great, the settings were clear and properly written, and most importantly (in my humble opinion) it was regularly updated! I love many authors on this site but some people do take a while to update their stories. Everyone has their own pace, but I definitely appreciate the more often updated ones!

Looking forward to your next story!

P.S. I gotta say, with as many times as Evan ventured into Eve's nether regions, let alone finished inside them, I somewhat expected a pregnancy plot twist at some point in the story xD

Author's Response:

I really wanted to keep it at 1 month daily to help people follow it easier. I tried to lay a lot of foundation and outlining before I did the first chapter to make it possible, glad it paid off

The pure novelty and humanity of the very concept is remarkable.

There is humor, suspension, some good exposition and world building... All good tings!

But in the end, as with most good storytelling; it's the interplay between the characters, and the details of their personality that connects the most.

This story is entertaining from the start and just when you think the character's have plateaued their development, a side interaction or surprise twist reveals hidden depths.

As for the intimacy; it gets emotional, it gets sexual and, at times, it gets cruel.
While featuring, and sometimes allowing the reader to revel in, cruel acts or fantasies, the story always keeps us ground with reality - taking care to portray the harm that can be done. Not only does this bring maturity to the work, but it makes those acts all the more tantalizing.

A great read, and one to remember - heck I've archived it!

Minor spoilers ahead:
If there is any room for growth here I'd point towards the main protagonist who never quiite transcends into being something more than a vehicle for the plot, though it's a close call at times!
My recommendation would be to hint through some interaction at Amber's private feelings - we almost always see her through the lens of Eve. As such it's never quite clear if it's about status, fear, pleasure, or all of the above.
A single, unfettered, scene showing Amber as she is in private before going of the deep end would really drive the character home I think.

Thanks Greenanon!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the kind words. I'll take the criticisms under advisement, they're all pretty fair. I will say we will see a bit of Amber in the final chapter, though obviously far her height, no pun intended. Overall I'm really glad that people enjoyed this one, it was a bit of a different one for me since most of my stories are fairly goofy over the top adventures or straight gentle stuff.

Evan, you should definitely be a role model to shrinkees. you took on 4 hunters and managed to walk away hardly phased? That's guts, man.

Author's Response:

If every tiny was as skilled and brave as Evan yeah the whole Tiny Hunter thing wouldn't have lasted very long.

Well that was a really well done climax, probably one of the most action packed ones I've read in your stories. Aside from that, I really appreciate how this story feels like it treads new ground for your stories(like with its month-a-chapter format, minor male antagonist, shrunken female character, etc). I think that's partially why its quickly become one of my new favourites of yours(aside from your great writing/character dynamics, of course).

Author's Response:

I wanted to break out and try some new stuff with this story, it's really nice to see it noticed, thanks!

Two things to point out, one in chapter 9 you use Laurie's name in place of Eve's

“Keep him overnight,” Laurie said with a grin as she walked out the door with Evan."

the other was in an earlier chapter when Even wasn't willing to jump out of a tree because of breaking a bone, even without the enhanced durability a shrinkee shouldn't suffer harm from a fall regardless of height for the same reason as squirrels and other small animals. Their low mass means that even at fast falling speeds in excess of terminal velocity the impact won't have enough energy to damage them, mass is just as important as speed in determining how hard of a landing something has.

Pedantic nitpicking aside it's a great story, hopefully a match up with tiny hunters he doesn't have to hold back the awful traps against will help rebuild Even's confidence.

Author's Response:

I went and fixed the typo.

As for Evan and lengthy falls, in any size story physics just go out the window at some point. That said, I imagine shrinkees to be slightly denser than other creatures their size, which is why they're relatively strong compared to say, rodents. Not enough to stop an incoming high heel of course, but enough that they have an edge over anything they're going to encounter the same size as them. Evan still isn't going to get any kind of serious injury from a fall from a tree, but he could get a minor one that could slow him down just enough for Eve to catch him, even if he'd be fine a little later that day.

Overall though I'm glad you're enjoying it, my sophomoric grasp of the sciences aside. Evan is definitely going to get to see the measure of himself by the end of this one.

Oh man, finally get to see Evan’s anti-hunter traps in action.

Author's Response:

Yep, this is the real deal

You can smell the double cross coming a mile away. Don't think a house getting out back on the market will likely happen. When betrayal is on the cards, it's basically Murphy's law at this point.

Honestly though, I wagered that Amber would try to go after Eve and Evan directly instead of hiring hunters.

Author's Response:

Nope, this time she's rolling deep. Obviously the people she's found through her boyfriend are less than scrupulous, and she's still in denial about her... condition.

oh, interesting! I thought Amber might call a hit on our protagonists with her tiny-hunter bf, but I wasn't expecting it to tie into the shrunken Amber plot line. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where the next chapter goes.

Author's Response: Yeah there's not a lot of hiding that Amber is going down pretty soon, obviously a tiny-hunter BF is... interested.

Another great chapter, though I don’t think this is will be the last we see of Amber.

The only critique for this one I have is that it seems out of character for Evan, when he is defending Even to Deandra, to also start to include she likes having sex with him.

Deandra and her husband are strangers to him (and vice verse), and Evan doesn’t seem like the sort of person to just say that out loud to strangers in an office setting.

Author's Response:

Yeah in hindsight it's not a perfect scene. I wanted some kind of icebreaker to show that, in their personal lives, Warren and Deandra are pretty goofy and laid back, if I had to write it again I'd have lead up into it a bit more or had someone else accidentally broach the subject.

Anyways glad you're enjoying the story
