Shouldn't part of Josh still be in Brittany's hand as the remaining part of the sandwich? 

Very curious as to what happens now that the timer went off.  Will part of Josh be in Brittany's hand, parts as crumbs on the counter, and part in Brit's stomach?  Or will Josh be brought back unscathed sitting at the table?

Quite the cliff hanger.

Nope! The timer went off, so his consciousness was ripped away from the sandwich entirely.
