Forgive me if this question has already been answered...but how was Brian proven innocent again?

Author's Response:

So, after the bodycam footage was released, Cassandra reopened Timmy Osment's case. Since everybody believed they had caught the killer when Brian was arrested, the authorities didn't do any additional investigation at the time. So, Cassandra's team had to start from the beginning. One of the things they did was dig up security camera footage from buildings and stores near the area where Timmy first disappeared, as well as the alley where he was murdered. Through that, they were able to identify the real murderer. The idea being that ironic sort of thing where, if they had done *any* real investigation at the time and not been so caught up in the media fire, they would have easily been able to prove Brian innocent. But they didn't, and here we are. This is coming from Chapters 18, 19, and 20 from "An Innocent Man 2." I hope that helps, and thanks for reading!

I read chapter 2 last night then went to bed and I get home from work and now we have a chapter 3, I forget how fast you work. I was a little annoyed with Brain at first, I didn’t really understand why he didn’t want to see his sister at soon as possible, I felt that he should understand how much good it would do Jen if he just talked to her since he’s the caring older brother, I know he cares immensely about her but it kind of seemed a little callus but now I can understand not wanting to be seen in such a state. He was her protector, the one person in the world she could count on and if I was in Brian’s shoes, I wound be more than embarrassed.

We are finally introduced to Cassandra Day and I'm not sure what to think, on one hand she the women who spear headed the campaign against the SP so that major points with me, but then again, she’s also a politician and scheming is kind of what they do. She seems like she really cares about Brain and she doesn’t seem like a bad person at all but I got to see more of her.

And now Brain finally speaks to Jen and it was everything I wanted but I guess it was only half of what I wanted since they didn't speak in person. It's nice to see Brian comfort Jen, even after everything he has been through that caring brother is still there.

Ps I hope you're doing better after what happened and I’m glad you’re back

Author's Response:

Yep, I'm a pretty quick tip-tap-typer. Helps when I don't have much else going on, which is very much the case right now. I'm excited to get my ideas posted, so it all works out.

Yeah, Brian is really reluctant to let her see him so small and vulnerable. Like he said, she has an expectation of him as the strong, caring older brother. However, like you said, he really needed to talk to her, so luckily he didn't wait too long.

For sure, you always have to be wary with politicians - especially ones that have so much to gain from Brian's cooperation. She definitely does genuinely care about him, though, so she's not *too* suspicious. We'll see if that changes as the story goes on.

I'm glad you enjoyed their reunion! Had to start with a phone call, considering Brian's feelings about being small, but the in-person meeting is up next. I hope you enjoy it as well! And absolutely, Brian will always be her big brother before anything else, regardless of his size or what happened to him. I'm glad you liked how he comforted her.

Yeah, I'm doing better now! At least to the point where I can write. I learned that my condition makes it hard to type at my desktop, but I remembered that I have a laptop that I never use. So, I've been using that to type, and it's been working out. Again, I really appreciate your concern, and I'm glad to be back. I hope you enjoy what happens next!

man im really invested in this. The emotional part of me is wodnering if jenn will ever find out what her and brians mom said to him. Like each time im reminded of that it gives me chills. like honestly given how his character has developed, i just cant see him forgiving her and tbh i wouldnt want him to. The mom has to realize what he felt, experience what he went through. Man this series has been soooo good! Keep up the amazing work!

Author's Response:

Thank you very much for reading! I'm really glad to hear that you're invested, that always serves as great motivation to keep writing. Your instinct with Brian is right on, he has no intention of forgiving her - or even seeing her - anytime soon, if ever. He will end up meeting her at some point soon, though, so I hope you'll find it interesting. I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
