My apologies. I had so many scenarioes in my head, that I forgot for one moment that she was fired.

There is so much to love about this story.

This development steps up the tension nicely. Previously, it was a question of when and how the two will mentally break. Tina was safe in every other way. Now, Dana is showing concern for Eva, which seems to have caught Tina by surprise. This could lead to an interesting parallel, where both Eva and Tina get in trouble because they misread their co-workers. This story could go in a lot of interesting directions.

Also, I personally like a long chapter.

Very intelligent chapter again.
Its detailed process of everything and everyone involved makes it interesting to see every interesting detail unfold in  this timeline.

Eva gets an interesting ride and with the increasing pressure of being captive more and more will break more layers of her.

Tina must keep in mind all the logistics of Eva being missing longer and longer from work as time progresses.

I have a feeling that Dana already suspects something and I can't but help that Tina has the in some parts the wrong idea about Dana's relationship with Eva.

Dana's interesting questioning and showing concern, is another interesting layer Tina must deal with.

I find it interesting that this chapters mentions Tina's promotion and that is Eva's old job. But you didn't reveal if Eva also gets promoted or that Tina will be above her.

But both those options will give an interesting path for the story.
The point is why this is exciting to know is that even how bad Eva could be, what Dana did felt as somewhat of a betrayel of a friend.
If Dana promotes Eva too, than I can believe the friendship. If Eva is being demoted, than Dana's goals are clear that this wasn't a one time action.
I like it how Tina seems somewhat oblivious to that for now.

I love all these processes you set in motion and how detailed you describe every emotion and the logistics of it all.

Author's Response:

As ever, thanks for the kind words!

I will point out Eva was fired just before she got shrunken down, however. Dana was the one who did it. Not because she wanted to, but because Eva's behavior was too unacceptable for the company. That's why there's an opening for Tina now.
